I've wanted to install a generator for several years now but pulled the trigger when they offered a 10 year extended warranty option for free. The install process went well but took about 11 hours to do. The finished product looked good. I wish there was an option of some colors because the buscuit color sticks out against a darker color house. The dealer, Lee Legler, did a great job and answered all my questions. The first test run went well. I also like the app you have that lets the homeowner monitor the generator's status.

Had been in the process to get a 22KW installed and then Ida hit. Power went out Sunday evening about 5:30 on 8/29. We were running the house on a 17.5 KW portable Generac but getting fuel had become an issue. Our dealer texted me the following Thursday AM about 6:30 and asked if we were still without power. I replied yes and they showed up a couple of hours later to install the unit. 5 hours later we were up and running. Everything went well until Sat AM when the unit shut down. I went to check it and the enclosure was full of oil that had leaked out of somewhere. I refilled it and got it running but it continued loosing oil. We got power back on Sunday evening. Unit now goes into over start shut down. Dealer came and did the first service but the unit still will not start and run. We suspect it has a bad circuit board so am waiting on that so we can get it started to find out where the oil is coming from. We suspect it is a rear seal since oil is coming from the exhaust end. Service tech also noted metal shavings in the oil. Bottom line is we are still without standby protection.

Of the home improvements I have made over the past 20 years, the Generac generator is at the top of the list for reliability, dependability, workmanship and an overall feeling of being secure during bad storms, winter, and general outages. I could not be more satisfied with it's performance and the overall addition to my home's value. A great investment for every homeowner that pays off over and over again. Thank you Generac for the added security of knowing your machine is connected to my home. You've done well !!

Our installer was Lawrence Levy (A Wiring Man) and he did a very professional and high-quality job. He integrated the equipment with our existing wiring and panels and fixed anticipated future problems. It was all done and tested in 1 day. He answered all our questions and is quite a personable guy. The gear all has a clean look and looks like it came with house. We installed the Generac app and it works well. I especially like the regular automatic maintenance testing. We are quite happy and now do not have to worry about highly likely multiple summer blackouts.

I'll have to write another review after our first power outage. Just had the unit installed and can't comment on too much yet but it does give us some peace of mind and just a bit of worry that it will actually do what it's supposed to do. Chris, our startup rep, was so knowledgeable - I doubt we'll remember 3/4 of what he told us but if we need him, he can walk us through whatever it needs. Shouldn't even say this but I'm almost hoping for a power outage!

For years we have fought through Florida hurricanes and thunderstorms that knockout power for various periods of time. Now, finally, we have our whole-house Generac and couldn't be happier. Just having the peace of mind knowing we will never be without power is worth the investment.

I hate losing electrical power — no heat or cooling, no lights, no Internet. In the past, I’ve lived in areas where power could go off for days. No more! I had a 22 kw Generac installed a year ago. The peace of mind it provides is priceless. When the lights go out, I count to 6, and I hear the generator start. Then I count to 15, and the lights come on. During the last year, we’ve had four multi-hour power outages. The Generac has never failed: Within 25 seconds, power is back on every time. I will never live without a whole home generator again.

My house is all electric and for several years I've gotten by with a portable generator, but it couldn't power my entire house. The Generac Guardian 22kw is just the thing for whole house electric power. Installation took place over 5 days, pour the pad (over weekend to set) place generator & 250 gallon tank, then transfer switch install. Finally the battery was installed and unit started. My Heat Pump was turned on then; both heat & air, worked perfectly. Electric hot water tank operates normally under the generator power along with all my other appliances. Weekly 5 minute test run was then programmed; the generator started & stopped on time. Completely satisfied .

PGE power outages are now part of living in California. We used to pack our food up in ice chests and head for a hotel. The Generac we installed lifted a huge burden off my shoulders. A minor few seconds after the outage and it kicks in automatically. Everything in the house works great and we keep going like normal. Awesome product!!!

We are relieved to have this whole house Generac generator installed as a feature of our home. It is reliable and quiet during the weekly testing. We have had any power outages since the installment but are confident it service our home in the event of an outage.
