We thought the process to install gas and electric and the unit itself was well thought out. When running, we were surprised it was not as noisy as we expected. It looks good positioned behind shrubs to cover it from view. Nice tall slab to mount it on takes away any fears of flooding affecting unit. I recommend the Generac unit. I now feel secure I will have power in case of freeze or hurricane.

I JUST PURCHASED AND HAD INSTALLED A 18Kw/ w/ ATUO TRANSFER SWITCH. THIS GENERAC GENATOR IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST PEACE OF MIND YOU WILL EVER HAVE. MY NEIGHBORHOOD HAS APPROXIMATELY 6 OR SEVEN GENERAC GENATOR INSTALLED ALREADY. IN TENNESSEE WHEN I LIVE THE WEATHER IS SO UNPREDICTABLE THAT ITS A MUST HAVE, NOT A WANT. EVERYONE I HAD TALKED TO RECOMMENDED THE GENERAC OVER THE OTHERS. I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW QUIET IT IS WHEN ITS RUNNING, JUST KNOWING THAT YOU WILL HAVE POWER WHEN THE ELECTRICITY GOES OUT IS A TRUE BLESSING. I had been looking at other backup generators and I got a quote from another brand.. They were $2500+ higher than the Generac 7209 and I got a bigger unit! 24K vs 20K Folks had it installed in a day and then next day we had an hour power disruption. Generator worked like a charm. Could not have been anymore pleased. Didn't have a problem with 3500ft home electrical needs.

Can’t say enough about this was the best investment I’ve done given my peace of mind of always having power. I live out in a rule area, and we lose power quite often deer in the winter and some times it’s a few hours and there was a time when we had no power for 5 days and not able to run the well and getting down in the 20s pipes freeze up. So now I live with peace of mind

So we had 22kw installed for 3700 sq foot house a few years ago, mostly for zoned air conditioners I can't live without. However, we never really lost power for very long, once installed. I was thinking maybe shouldn't have purchased a generator, although the peace of mind was always nice. Then a few nights ago all these edgy news warnings of a nasty nor'easter on its way possibly taking out power in Philly area, and much of the east coast for that matter, from brutal high winds and wet snow. My wife and I were sitting in the comfort of our toasty home watching a movie Friday night and then boom! ...Total darkness from power outage. Could only hear high winds for about 10 seconds... and then... that transfer switch clicked and that wonderful, beautiful, fantastic, humming sound from the outside generator, and then a few seconds later on come the lights, the TV powers up, the furnace is working. The oven is on. Oh man I can't describe how great that feeling was. I looked outside to see our neighborhood development homes, but nothing but cold wind and total darkness. I almost felt guilty when I sat back down on the couch and asked my wife, " pass the popcorn please". My daughter even stopped by did laundry she needed for work with dryer. No problem for the generator. Power still out days later for many in area, but ours did transfer back to electric company. Everything did work perfectly. After installing we had an outage shortly after and was put to the test pretty quickly... While the outage was less than an hour it is very comforting to know that the generator can provide whole home power without compromise... I would recommend using a concrete slab reinforced with rebar over the composite base as the composite base will not be as sound for the generator...

Have lost power four times in the last twelve months due to trees falling on utility lines and taking power out. Decided to purchase a whole house backup generator and after researching products, chose the Generac 22kw. It has a quick response as soon as power loss is detected, can supply power to run heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer, City inspector said the installation was first class and was impressed with running of power cable from electrical box to the generator’s location on the opposite side of the house near the gas meter. Natural gas connection was anchored with multiple safety cut offs of the gas for safety, if needed.. WiFi monitoring allows instant update on status of the generator. The generator is the lifeline to the house and annual maintenance provides peace of mind and assurance the generator is ready to go when needed. Great investment for our home and our lifestyle.

I am very happy with my new Generac generator and the stand which is sits on, allowing it to remain above the snow in the Winter. After years of hurricanes and the thought of losing power for sometimes days I finely have no worries.If your tired of trying to find fuel before and after a storm so you can have just the basics in life with a portable generator that most times wont start when you need it, this is a must..Its cost will pay for itself over the years I will not have to suffer in the heat after a fla hurricane..Im very happy I chose to get this installed and the peace of mind it will bring will be well worth it..

I am in the Emergency Management Field and live in a hurricane prone area on the east coast. The Generac will provide peace of mind when I am deployed knowing my family will always have electrical power without having to worry about a portable generator and extension cords.
