I have a 22,000-Watt (LP)/19,500-Watt (NG) Air Cooled Standby Generator with Whole House 200 Amp Automatic Transfer Switch. Bought for new retirement home here in East Texas in Sept 2018. It has been the best investment I could have made as this area has frequent power outages. It tests itself every week or so and on the several occasions that we lost power, it ran as desired and provided all of the electric power we needed, including my dry heat sauna and hot tub lol. My house has propane for stove and tankless water heater. The unit had to be modified for propane versus LP. Other than that, no issues and would highly recommend. Just make sure you but a unit to cover your expected load nees....best of luck.

I bought my 18KW in April 2023 after suffering six (6) days without power the prior year due to hurricanes here in Florida. It kept my whole house powered for 2 days after Helene and 4 days after Milton. It's only running about 50-60% load with a 2 1/2 ton heat pump, light's, well pump, hot water heater, etc. I was very pleased to find it only used approx. 1.2 gallons of propane per hour (at 50% load), and not 1.7 as spec sheet shows. My 200 gallons can go 7 days if needed, but did take off-line and gave it a rest to check oil. Exercises every Monday for 20 mins. like clockwork ready to go 30 secs after power outage.. High recommend this unit.

We did a lot of research on standby generators and decided on the Generac 22kw. At first, we weren't so sure Generac was the brand for us. There had been a number of complaints. Our dealer explained that early on the Evolution control board was failing. But the issue was resolved. We took him on his word and glad we did. Four days after it was installed, the Seattle area was hammered with over a foot of snow and power went out. Generator kicked on and stayed on for the next 10 hours. Power was restored for around 3 hours and went back out. Generator kicked on and ran for another 12 hours. We rely on a pump grinder to discharge sewage. Without power, we get 10 flushes from our toilet. Wife demands that system work! So far, Generac has made us a believer. We live on a island and the other thing that sold us was parts are plentiful. Not so much with other brands. The free mobile link is nice but highly limited. To get full use of its features you have to pay a monthly fee. We highly recommend this generator.

We lived and worked in Afghanistan for almost a decade and experienced the "norm" of needing backup power generation. With Hurricanes, Ice Storms, and concerns about rolling blackouts from unstable utilities, the concept of NOT having backup power was foolish. We studied the problem and solutions for nearly 90 days before we arrived at the best solution, which was a Whole House Generator from Generac. The price was great, the quality of manufacturing (in the USA) was exceptional, and the unit works exactly as expected from the very first power loss test. Having worked with HUGE commercial diesel generators, we were also pleased with the sound level, and low carbon footprint from the Natural Gas supply. Now we can rest knowing we are covered in an emergency - and I love the 900 CC Engine (reminds me of my last motorcycle). If you are a "Prepper" - this is your unit. Also, if you are a Veteran, make sure to purchase through Home Depot or Lowes, (or) wherever you can get your GI discount! From the estimate to the conclusion of installation, this project was excellent. Mr. Buchanan gave us a very reasonable estimate for the size and quality of the generator installed. The men who installed the generator, set-up and wi-fi connection did a terrific job, were very pleasant, cleaned up nicely, helped me connect my phone to the Mobil Link app. We couldn't have asked for a better team. We were impressed with how everything was handled from the quote to the installation. Generac arranged for 2 quotes. One was by phone and the other was by an actual visit. The phone quote was done by Countryside Electric and we chose them. Although we did not understand how a quote could be done in this way, GI had almost all of the necessary information from searches he did on line. Our biggest problem was that the gas and electric are on opposite sides of the house. GI arranged for his subcontractor to make an actual on site visit so an accurate quote could be made. Matt from Doc Thompson Plumbing did the on site visit and he decided that it would be easiest and most cost efficient to run a dedicated gas line through the house instead of outside. All of the connections are outside. Only the gas line runs through the basement. When it was time for the installation, it was done by Nick and John. They were knowledgeable, polite, and seemed to be very efficient. Brian was here with his helper Dustin on the same day and they also did a very good job with the plumbing. All of the people involved were concerned with doing the job correctly and making it look professional. Although we haven't had a power failure yet, the generator does run once a week for 5 minutes and everything seems to be working correctly. We were very impressed with all of the people involved including Eric and the other office staff that we have talked to. I would recommend a Generac generator and Countryside Electric.

I travel frequently for work and having a Generac Guardian gives me the peace of mind to know that my family will have power while I'm away. The generator itself is compact and sits to the side of my house out where it is not easily visible. Overall, I'm very happy with this product.

I have been the proud owner of a Generac guardian series 22kW for 3 years now. As I write, my Generac is on its 26th hour of continually running after a horrible storm hit in upstate New York. I have had this new whole home generator for about two months now and all the weekly auto tests are performed as scheduled automaticly. I have performed the monthly transfer tests and they have have worked flawlessly. It has also covered two power outages and restored power to my house within 12 seconds, both times. I love my Generac.
