It has been an adventure getting this thing installed! I live in Central Texas, and knowledgeable installers are few and far between. THEN- you have to deal with the weather! Anyway, we finally got it installed and running today (I have it since March, 2012)! It performed as advertised when we simulated a power outage! I almost can't wait for the real thing!

Had unit installed May 2018 so we would have A/C in the event of a hurricane related power outage similar to outage during Hurricane Irma in 2017 when we were 5 days without power. As of June 2022 annual service the unit had only 25.5 hrs on meter. So until September 28, 2022 when Hurricane Ian hit and we lost power we had no experience with extended run time. Owner's manual indicated need to check oil frequently as it might need oil added. I had assumed after June 2022 service the unit would have enough oil to run safely for a minimum of 24 hours without getting a low oil warning. Due to the rain and wind it was not possible check the oil and at 27 hrs (9/29/22) the unit stopped under low oil warning. I had only 2 quarts of the required oil. A check 12 hrs later indicated it had gone through a quart so I had to reduce load until I could get more oil on 9/30/22. I was not pleased that after 39 hr run time I had to severely reduce the load and go without A/C- the main reason I bought the unit for. The owner's manual NEEDS to indicate the potential amount the generator may use during 12 hr continuous usage so people have an appropriate amount of oil on hand. I had no idea the unit would use 2 quarts a day. In the future I will have at least 10 quarts of oil on hand. Other than this annoying lesson learned I am happy with the unit.

I’ve been waiting a long time to purchase my Generac Whole Home Generator. Having my new generator gives me a great sense of security. Since I was a child with Hurricane Betsy, we’ve never left our home for any of Louisiana’s hurricanes, We suffered thru the power outages and the heat and lots of ice chest full of food and drink. My 18kw whole house generator with transfer switch was installed by United Electric,Wisconsin Dells Wisconsin. The crew showed up on-time on June 26th as promised. They went right to work. They were completed by 3pm. They had duga 9 foot trench to bury the wire to the box. It was all filled in like it was never there. Clean job. No fingerprints or dirt anywhere. They fully explained the operation. Started and ran unit. The only problem I and United have is the manufacturer balking at providing the 10 year warranty ( so United says)as promised. I would recommend United Whole heartedly.

My 22kw generator, gives me peace of mind, in the case of a power outage. It is quiet and efficent. With it's automatic activation during an outage ,is one less thing i have worry about during these stressed times. I feel confident and secure knowing we will have electricity in the event of a power outage.

I had the 22kw generator professionally installed. The instalL was organized, neat and clean. I had a 2.25 hr power outage shortly after install. The generator performed as expected with consistent power throughout. We continued on as if nothing happened. Due to increasing frequency of storms, our outage frequency is increasing. This has been a great purchase. If you buy one make sure it is installed by pros.

I just completed building our new home here in Louisiana where power outages are very common due to extreme weather conditions. Local ordinances required us to have a sewage grinder and pump. I installed the generator and transfer switch myself last summer. The installation instructions and registration requirements were clear and straight forward and installation went well. The generator worked perfectly during several small storms in 2020 and ran continuously for 5 days during the 2021 Texas Deep Freeze. After the storm I checked the oil and it was still full even after the extended run time. I changed the oil myself and the design of the oil drain makes it easy and clean. There must be a group of bright and practical people in the design and manufacturing departments that make good products like this possible. Please keep making these generators in the USA and do not fall into the Made in China cheap junk cesspool.
