We live in the south and figured this would just be a "what if" we had ice or snow product. Rarely do we have a winter in which we encounter a power outage from ice on the lines. However, we have already been grateful for having the Generac installed. Every other Wednesday it comes on and tests itself like we had the electrician program it to do as was specified in the instructions, but twice we've had the power just pop off for other mechanical reasons in our area. In fact, last night the generator kicked in at 11:45 p.m. when the transformer outside decided to "die." It took the electric company till 2:20 a.m. to get the power back on. We were glad for the heat, don't laugh, but we had a low of 32 degrees last night and for us that's a little low to be without heat. Also, we didn't have to worry about the food in the frig. The other time was during the fall, when the temperature and the humidity were both still very high. We were able to enjoy the afternoon inside while cool and relaxed. My dad is 92 and I am also retired so having a comfortable home is very important to us and our generator makes that all possible. Don't hesitate to buy a Generac. It's reliable and wonderfully efficient.

Really like the product so for. All went well to hook up. Few people in the neighborhood are inquiring about the generator. The disappointment is the WIFI that has an expensive monthly charge after the first year. Will not use that option after the trial is up.

We have the 22kW Generac running the entire house. The system does its maintenance run automatically each week. Our first power outage lasted 43 hours. We checked the generator oil after 24 hours and it was fine so we turned it back on. Our propane consumption during that period was appriximately 0.8 gallons/hour. We were using the electric oven when the power went out and, while we could see the lights go down for an instant when oven element kicked on, overall the house power worked perfectly.

My new Generac whole-house generator eliminates the need to refrain from using heat/air during a power outage. Much more convenient. Also, the new plastic housing eliminates the serious rust problem we experienced with the prior metal encased unit. And finally, no more replacing the battery every year. The new charging system has come into the modern ages and does not charge all the time until the battery explodes. Like an iPhone or other device, it only charges when needed and stops at full charge. Overall, I am well-pleases with the new, larger unit and find greater peace of mind in ownership.

The standby generator from Generac is a great buy! Only days after installation it was called upon to power my whole house during a Hurricane. As my wife is handicapped, it was imperative to keep our power on. I would have no other product but the Generac generator.

The Generac 22KW whole house generator sits quietly and blends in looking very aesthetically pleasing but during the weekly testing and in case of a power outage, it powers up and for a real electricity outage, it switches over and provides power for the entire house until the utility is back and stable. It is relatively quiet while it is running and while you are inside, unless you are in the area nearest the generator, you don't even notice it running. I provides great peace of mind and works exactly as advertised.

We are a small skilled nursing home and for years had relied on a portable generator to provide basic power during power losses which are rare. The problem was it required some knowledge to start and use the generator efficiently with as little time as possible after a power loss. Great product. Works by itself even maintenance testing. Gives us great peace of mind to know we will always have electricity. We had no electricity for a week a couple of years ago due to ice storms and it was awful. When 30,000 + other homes don't have it either it was hard to travel on ice or find vacant hotels. Believe me a camping heater won't keep your home warm. Tried it. A neighbor was out of state during storm and he came back to broken water pipes and water and electric damage! Anyone on the fence should get one before it's needed. Get this installed by Generac company certified for maximum quality. Failing to plan is planning to fail.

What a load off my mind. I no longer worry about what we'll do when the power goes off. I have MS and air conditioning is vital for me and the Generac not only provides electricity for the AC but my two refers and two freezers and everything in my home..
