Customer reviews for LG 5.0 cu. ft. All-in-One Washer & Dryer Combo w/ Inverter HeatPump Technology forFuturistic Washer/Dryer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This washer/dryer is simply everything that I could have wanted and more. Laundry days are much more enjoyable. This washer was carefully thought of with many different households in mind, if you are in an apartment this is great and if you want more space in laundry room this is definitely the one. You do not need the traditional vent that is used with dryers since it’s self-vented. It’s a bonus when used with LG’S THINK Q app. Since I had already had the app on my device it recognized the washer/dryer and give me clear instructions on how to get it paired and within a few seconds I had the washer/dryer connected. I completely enjoy the convenience of not having to constantly go back and forth to change my clothes from washer to dryer. My favorite feature is the AI wash + dry option this has so far given me the quickest complete wash and dry cycle. The drawers to place the detergent and fabric softer are very easy to open and close. I also enjoy being reminded before each cycle to check for lint. The clothes smell clean and fresh after every load. And I really enjoy the reminder from my THINK Q app to remove the clothes after the washer/dryer has come to a stop. The washer can also be programmed to do a wash only or dry only. This is definitely a futuristic design which I absolutely love.
Best washer I've owned so far
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Needed a new washer and saw this new combo washer/dryer to be a very clever idea. It was priced on sale and I decided to give it a try. It's a beautiful washer and I was really impressed with the build quality, the inside of the door I believe is thick glass. It has some weight to it that kept it planted on the floor when spinning and is very silent. I mainly needed a new washer and it got my clothes cleaner than my old top load washer. I connected it to my LG Thinq app and realized it had so many more features and options. You fill its detergent and softener tanks and it atuomatically dispenses multiple loads without the hassle of filling up each load, so convenient. I still use my dryer on heavy laundry days but when I need one load done I just throw in a load and forget about it. Wash and dry in one cycle, AMAZING! I throw my daily sweat soaked workout clothes or kids swimsuits in an it washess and drys without remembering to load a dryer. They're already dry when i need them again. Basically throw it in and forget about it. If you use the dryer feature I suggest you use the fabric softener tank because you wont need to remember to put a dryer sheet in. Remember to clean out the top filter after each use and the bottom one monthly. I was thinking of buying a matching dryer to update the set but not really sure if I even need to, but it is convenient to have a dryer too when yo have a lot of loads of laundry to do in a day.
Hello, Kimberely! We’re excited to hear how much you’re enjoying your LG washer/dryer combo—from the sturdy build and quiet spin to the impressive cleaning power and the convenience of wash‑and‑dry‑in‑one. The automatic detergent and softener dispensing, along with the added features in the LG ThinQ app, really make this LG unit shine for busy days. It’s great knowing it handles everything from daily workout gear to kids’ swimsuits with ease, and your tips on filter care and using the fabric softener tank are incredibly helpful for other owners. Having the option to pair it with a separate dryer for heavy laundry days is a nice bonus, even if the combo already covers most of your needs! Single operation, ventless, and 110 operation shou
After 2 weeks of use this is awesome!!! It’s nice not to have to transfer cloths from one appliance to another, and be able to go some where for the day and have everything completed by the time we get home!!! Ventless is awesome plus the fact it’s operating on 110 instead of 220!! Love it, now if it only folded the cloths lol
Drainage clog is dumb
So for the most part it works fine, takes a while, can live with that. The drain catch for hair is the fatal flaw. Awful location, engineering, and clogs every couple loads. That bottom left panel is the drain system, have to use a shallow pan, multiple trips, and when you think it's empty it still spills all over the area. RIP my wood walls, seeing a lot of water. This could ruin someone's house. Pain in the sphincter since the second week.

Great idea, but needs a lot of improvement
I've used this device for a couple of months. It is indeed convenient not to have to shuttle clothes between two devices. But, this machine takes 3 or 4 hours to wash and dry a 2/3 load of clothes. It appears to me the heating element for the dryer is significantly under engineered.

Best high tech appliance in 2024
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the machine on last Thursday. I have used 3 loads so far. One loads of 12 towels of all different sizes, One load of color clothes, and one load of all mix clothes with 2 twins bed sheets. They are all finished within 3 hours for wash and dry. Normally, I used the regular washer and dryer to complete in 2 hours. But I always have no time to move my clothes from washer to dryer. It’s a big help to be as I only need to take care 1 time. In addition, this machine is running 120v only without gas. It’s safer for us use in home. My dryer valve was leaking natural gas before and it is a hazard for us if any gas leak happens. In term of dry, few reviewers mentioned not dry. All my clothes are completely dried every time. Yes. It takes longer to dry., but why you need to wash and dry very fast. Not many people will use the recent washed clothes instantly. I believe the technology will be improved by time and most of the disadvantages will be less and less, but this machine is the latest technology of the washer and dryer combo. I strongly recommend this machine to everyone who wants to change their washer and dryer.
Convenient and lots of great features!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Beyond our expectations! Overall, the LG has a clean and minimal design, and it's also packed with a ton of features and new tech. The delivery team was very professional and punctual. Installation was also done by the delivery team and they were very meticulous in making sure everything was working properly before leaving. Pros: AI wash/dry cycle is a great set it and forget it option. It uses AI to sense the fabrics and soil level, and adjusts wash and dry cycles accordingly. So far, no shrunken or damaged clothes! Although it originally estimated 1h 50m, it ended up taking about 2h 45m, which isn't too bad for a full wash and dry cycle where no intervention is needed at all. The LG ThinQ app is well designed and shows a ton of information and additional options. We were able to monitor time left, energy consumption, drum clean reminders, etc. I would say it's much easier to control the machine via the app. This all-in-one runs off just one 120v outlet. The dryer actually uses a heat pump to dry the clothes, making it incredibly efficient. On average, one AI wash/dry medium load cycle uses only ~1.05kwh, which is very impressive. In terms of noise, it is fairly quiet during both wash and dry cycles. You'll still hear it when filling or draining, but otherwise, the mechanical noises are very muted. The lint trap is easy to access and clean. Our laundry room is also very small so having both washer and dryer combined into one is a great space saver. Cons: Using the dial to select options is fairly cumbersome. While it looks and feels nice, it does take longer to do what you want. There's also another touch screen panel to adjust water temp, soil level, etc. However, it's best to control the machine via the app instead. I noticed after each dry cycle that lint accumulates on the rubber seal. It's not a big deal, but just an additional area to clean.
Our laundry story is a new story
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think that laundry tells a family’s story more than most chores. When your family is new the loads are small, infrequent, inconsistent. Your schedule changes and laundry day must shift. You pick up a new hobby and suddenly you’ve got dirty running shirts every morning. A baby is born, there are 4 outfits a day, they’re small but they still need to be washed and dried! You welcome another member of the family. Your laundry demands change as quickly as they do. They have home clothes, sports clothes, school clothes, there aren’t enough hours in the day to keep up with the ever-growing pile. One day they move on, they get their own machines. The laundry pace slows again to a predictable two loads a week, maybe one. Laundry changes with life changes. You collect, you wash, you dry, you put away. Our machine has changed the way we look at our laundry story. The story of this machine has been different, life has changed when the laundry changed, it’s happened the other way around. The machine has changed our approach and therefore changed our laundry story. Wash, dry, steam, whatever the load sizes and frequencies are constantly fluctuating, but we adjust and laundry is something happening in the background, giving us more time to grow and change in the foreground. This machine is awesome, it’s improving, the initial AI features are getting better at estimating, it’s learning as we learn. 2 in 1 is the obvious future, there are phases of life that one 2 in 1 machine is perfect for but I’d guess most people would be happiest with 2 machines. It’s the same amount of space as before, you’re just working almost twice as fast, more accurately put, you are working half as much.
Space Saver!
This is a review of an LG WM6998HBA washer/dryer All-in-One. I received the LG WM6998HBA washer/dryer All-in-One February the 27th as part of LG’s sampling program. The washer/dryer is a very nice-looking machine. It is a black steel in color with a smoke glass door. This is a front-loading machine with touch controls on the front and a large dial in the top center to select the wash cycles. My initial opinion is this is a neat idea! Load the machine with your laundry and cleaning products, pick a cycle, and turn it on. It does the wash and then automatically starts drying. Since this is an all-in-one machine, it eliminates the need to remove the laundry from the washer and move it to the dryer. It also eliminates the additional space of having two machines in place which is great for small spaces. The LG WM6998HBA uses inverter heat pump technology so it is ventless maximizing the locations it can be installed. There is a bit of a learning curve to using this machine so make sure to keep the owner’s manual bookmarked. The online owner’s manual is more thorough than the paper manual included with the machine. To use the machine, you push the “On” button and then use the large dial in the center to rotate to your desired cycle. Assuming you are using the default cycle you press the start button and the machine runs the cycle. If you wish to run other than a default cycle there are plenty of options. To the right of the dial is a display panel which is also a touch screen control. You can adjust your cycle from here. Some of the choices include water temperature, spin speed, soil level, and drying. Many of these sub menus contain additional levels of choices. There is an abundance of preprogrammed cycles. I counted 14 cycles on the main dial plus a tub clean cycle. I will probably use about three different cycles in my week-to-week use. There is an app for your phone LG ThinQ which allows you to set up your cycle on your phone and send it to the machine and remote start. LG ThinQ also has other features which track the cycles you have run, power usage, and allows you to add features to the machine. This is a new product for LG and I believe they did a good job but could have done a little better with the drying function. I found that most of the drying cycles took longer than the estimated display time on the machine. Frequently when the display would get down to the last 3 to 5 minutes it would add another 15 to 20 minutes sometimes more than once. In their advertisement they say “wash and dry in under 2 hours” however, I found most cycles take between 2 hours and 30 minutes to 3 hours and 20 minutes. Sorting your clothes by material thickness is key with this machine. The estimated times are somewhat closer when sorting by thickness. If you have some thicker materials in with some thinner materials, they may still be a little damp at the end of the cycle. LG, please add a switch for the light in future models. The smoked glass door is so dark you need a flashlight to see inside after the cycle starts. In closing I would like to point out that all of my loads so far have come out clean and fresh smelling.
Space reclaimed, unit works great!
the LG Wash combo All in One is a sleek machine in appearance and operation. Installation was straight forward and we were happy to gain back the space the old dryer inhabited. The programming is easy to use though I do recommend reviewing the instructions. We have not tried the ap yet. I have some older concert t-shirts that need delicate washing for preservation. The menu offers options beyond our old unit and works well. I was curious how effective the dryer would be without the need of a vent. It does take longer than our old dedicated unit. However I notice that it seems to be generating far less lint. This is likely going to extend the life of the laundry items. I can see that many will appreciate the ability to locate this machine in a place where a 220volt outlet, and dryer venting is not necessary.
Hey Lon. Thanks for your feedback on your LG All-in-One WashCombo! It’s great to hear that its sleek design and space-saving benefits have made a difference in your home. The easy programming and expanded wash options sound perfect for keeping your concert t-shirts in top condition. The ventless drying is a unique feature that’s gentle on your fabrics, helping to reduce lint and extend the life of your laundry. Whenever you’re ready to explore the ThinQ app, it could bring even more convenience to your routine. For more feedback or questions, private message us on social media @LGUSSupport.
