Customer reviews for LG 5.0 cu. ft. All-in-One Washer & Dryer Combo w/ Inverter HeatPump Technology forIt changed how we do laundry (for the better)
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First there is siri and alexa, then we get chatgpt with google baird and Microsoft copilot. Now L.G. comes out with an ai enabled combo washer and dryer. I wasn’t able to get into the manual before my wife had it connect to the thin q app on her phone and changing the settings and starting a wash. I have been around a lot of innovation projects at some large companies and LG has really pushed the envelope on this unit. It senses your loads, how dirty the clothes are and takes care of the rest with the AI Wash and Dry setting. If you don’t trust the AI to take over your washing duties, select from 15 other wash cycles. My wife has to control it. I chose to let the AI do its thing. Yes, I would agree that larger and heavier loads do take longer to dry over my gas dryer. But since we load it up before we leave for work, it has 8 hours to wash and dry. With the Thin Q app, you can extend the drying time or start another cycle. I guess it just takes you to think differently on how to use the washer/dryer with the heat pump. Auto detergent/softener dispenser and the top lint collector, they have simplified the laundry process for me and my family. Not to forget the little brother that I also picked up. The LG SideKick Pedestal Washer. The wife and girls like it for washing smaller loads and their undergarments that need a little more TLC or just need to be air dried. As my wife said, #lifeisgood…
So convenient! We love our LG!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had our WashCombo for a couple months now and we love it so much! I love that it requires us to clean the filter before using because my husband is so bad about leaving lint in the filter 😂 I was shocked at the size. I assumed it may not be able to hold a normal load but it has. I saw some other reviews about their clothes not getting as dry but we haven’t had that issue at all! My family loves it!
Great features and Huge Time Saver!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the washer dryer combo—- but am loving the ThinQ app even more! I use all different settings and sometimes only do a wash, use my separate dryer and start a wash/dry combo on another load. This has truly saved me time. The app is great and I can see how many minutes are left, so I know to go down into the basement to switch it out. The app also has good updates with different melodies and mini screens to choose from.
Great Features!
We really like this product. It has reduced our number of loads and given our laundry space more room. That being said, it does take a time to learn how to use it. You do need to read the owners manual and follow the outlined procedures for the unit. It does take longer for the loads to complete. The positive side of that is you can do other things between and your wash is complete when it finishes. The ThinQ app notifies you no matter where you are that the load is finished, so it can eliminate rerunning the dryer function to unwrinkle your load. It also can be set to come on periodically to keep your clothes from wrinkling do to being left in the dryer to long. It does have an odor the first few times you use it, but that goes away. It is not unpleasant, but noticeable. If you have a small laundry room it will heat it up, which may be good in colder climates. Overall, This is a great solution to space issues, considering the size of the washers and dryers today. I would recommend this to anyone looking to solve a space problem.
Technology meets functionality!
We upgraded to LG's new washer/dryer combo and love it's space saving and ventless design. My first load was the AI wash/dry, and it came out perfect. There are so many options, you can customize each load for the most effective cleaning your laundry requires. The ThinQ app allows easy tracking, maintenance notifications, and remote start functions. I especially like the sensing function which determines the amount of water and dryness level. No more feeling wasteful for having a tiny load. This machine is also very quiet, even in the spin cycle. Our old washer sounded like an airplane engine starting during it's spin cycle. I was skeptical about a 2-in-1 unit being able to perform well, but it's technology is far superior. I highly recommend!! Life is Good
Exceeded expectations
Bought Oct 2024. replaced LG traditional front load laundry set, 14 years old. they were working great, but the age was concerning me. So have read the negative reviews and I wonder if some really own one of these units. For me its 1 person in the home, retired. So nice not to have to swap load to dryer, or even forget to swap. I do 2 loads a week. Noise - about the same as traditional set. Spin however is waaayyy smoother. Drying makes a different sound, bit louder than just the tumble of a traditional dryer. Its on the main floor of the house, and don't find the overall noise objectionable. Wash - Not even slightly ... very much noticeably better cleaning than my traditional LG front load team (entry-tier models) Drying - Clothes come out dry. Towels, hoodies, jeans. Always a mixed load, and always dry. I believe the supplementary heating element has a factor in that. By folks saying' they dont get dry clothes', I dunno what they are doing different. Cycle - have only tried, and likely only ever use AI wash & dry cycle. It should be the default, but I have to pick it. Time - queen sheet set, and a couple towels, 2 hours. Mixed load of darks, towels, jeans, hoodies, shirts, underwear & socks. 3 hours. Add-ons - got the matching base unit, primarily to raise the door for easier access. Cost savings - likely ... however the only one I can attest to is the vent free dryer tech. No constantly blowing a large volume of air out of the home for an hour approx. causing infiltration throughout the home as makeup air. Safety - no vent pipe and outside vent cover constantly building up lint (though over time this may be an internal machine issue TBD)

Amazing Combo Unit, but Dry Times are Long
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Absolutely love it, never get moldy clothes and never lose time if I forget to move things to the dryer. It does an excellent job, the delicate cycle is extremely delicate, and I love the ability to just fill it up with detergent and rarely need to refill it. I will say that the interface is a little weird, the app is useful for setting it up. The drying times are a lot longer than a regular dryer. I got this unit for my family and they opted to keep the regular dryer. If we are really processing a lot of laundry in a quick time we pull the clothes out of this and put it in the dryer while running a wash+dry cycle on this. I also find it weird it is not straight forward to reduce drying temp. I like lower drying temps on certain cycles. I'll also say the AI wash and dry cycle is pretty stingy on detergent and not as dry. It really tries to save on power and water, but I prefer the normal and delicate cycles. Overall, very happy. Well build, wonderful finish, works as advertised and lets you just toss clothes in at night or while on a trip and to come back to clean clothes.
Best in Class
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The LG washer dryer combo has made our laundry routine a great experience. This combo has unmatched efficiency and convenience. Disclaimer we live in a Brooklyn apt with 2 kids! Laundry has always been a pain because we had to go to a laundrymat. We decided to convert our half bath into a laundry and it was the greatest decision along with choosing the combo. space was very limited and I did a ton of research on the best option. First and foremost let's address the elephant in the room. This combo takes a long time to dry. This is just the nature of the beast and as technologically advanced this combo is, it still has limitations, because we do not have an option to vent out. But one great thing about this washer dryer combo is the AI and wifi connectivity. This means I can put a load of laundry in the wash at night while we go to sleep or in the morning when I drop kids to school and it will wash and dry efficiently on its own. This dryer has always dried all of my clothes to completion however the caveat is I do have to put it on an additional dry cycle. Not a big issue for my family as we're out and about and I love that I can just set it and forget it and not come back to wet smelly clothes because I've left it in the washing machine to long. I also love how spacious the inside of the combo is. Even though it has a small footprint I can still fit a whole comforter plus additional clothes inside of the cavity. The combo really makes life easy. I love the fact that I never have to reload detergent and softener. I can get about 20 loads done before I have to reload the detergent and softener again. The platform on the combo is so easy to use. Again the Wi-Fi connectivity is a huge bonus. I love that I can add an additional dry cycle to my load from the comfort of my bed. The combo does an amazing and thorough job cleaning the clothes no matter what cycle. I've used it on a quick wash and heavy duty and the clothes always come out smelling great and completely clean. Again this is a perfect situation for smaller homes. Even for a family of 4 like myself. Obviously if you have vent out cababilites, have a bigger family or even a bigger space I recommend a traditional washer and dryer. But, if you have certain limitations this is definitely the washer dryer combo for you. look no further this is absolutely the best in it's class Pros *Automatically wash and dry clothes *AI wash senses clothes and picks the best option *Automatic dry - when washing and drying separately, the dry cycle will sense the amount of clothes and choose the best dry time *Wifi connectivity *Large wash basin Cons *Dry time Clearly pros win!
Great product!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using it for months, and I really love it. Once you put it in, it's so convenient to do laundry to drying at once, but after it finished, dust sticks to the door, so it's annoying to clean everytime. I'm satisfied with everything except this.
Learning Curve
We purchased this to save room and electricity (compared to normal separate washer/dryer) We ran into common long dry times and found how to correct them from different sources on the internet. We also currently have a leaking drain pump that is being replaced under warranty - started leaking about a month after install. Wish LG website had better troubleshooting and common issue help. Have to clean the condenser every couple wash/dry cycles, but there is a guard screwed on covered by sticker that has to be removed first. Also the unit can wash a larger load than it can dry, so washing smaller loads work better or separating the washed cloths into multiple dryer loads. Overall a good product so far, just different from normal washer/dryer pair.
