Customer reviews for LG 5.0 cu. ft. All-in-One Washer & Dryer Combo w/ Inverter HeatPump Technology forVerified Purchase
Pretty good.
I think most people would find this is pretty heavy, so moving it yourself is probably gonna be a struggle, Installation was easy with most of the necessary tools included. You just need a level. I used a bubble level. I've only tried a few cycles. Drying takes longer than I was used to when I had a resistive electric dryer on a 30 amp circuit. But it's not a big deal since I don't generate laundry fast enough to require faster laundry. And of course since the washer and dryer are combined, I don't need to go back to the laundry soon after starting a wash. Still, it would be nice to have a faster heat pump that uses 30 amps that many people probably have already in their laundry rooms. I had a GFCI NEMA 5-15R receptacle that I plugged it in, and it seems the inverter trips the GFCI when a drying cycle starts, so I replaced it with a non-GFCI receptacle. Now there's probably an electrical code violation in my laundry room and I'm not sure what to do about that yet. I'm surprised there is no combined delicates wash and dry cycle. There are only separate delicates wash and delicates dry cycles. This should be easy to add with a firmware update.

Easy to understand controls. Great space saver.

Horrible experience
We purchased our first All in One last year for our Guests. We havent used it much. We decided to get one for our household. From the beginning we realized we had made a mistake. The clothes came out with a horrible stench and the worst part is that it takes SIX hours to do one load. Not even big load. We have asked for return and refund now and still havent heard back.

Worst piece of crap
This washer dry combo is a piece of crap. It's ruined my floor . It stops work everything 4rth or so load because it get stopped up. Then the only way to get it working is to remove the drain plug and water goes all over the floor. I would never wish this washer on my worst enemy.

Not ready for prime time
I have had the machine for almost 3 months now, the machine has a flaw we have to clean it about every week to get it to dry better. I have been advised to trip the circuit to get it to dry properly. I feel like I have bought a test machine and I am doing a QA on a machine that doesn't have all the kinks worked out. My biggest disappointment is the drying of towels, the machine will wash the towels and the towels stick to the drum so when the drying starts it sticks to the side drying and the towels are hard partially dried. The other thing is that the dryer will get to 4 minutes left and will run for hours still showing 4 minutes. I am disappointed I thought we were getting a top notch machine but it appears we were given a machine that is not ready for prime time.

You'll love it, if you know what to expect
I've had this machine for about a month. With a family of 6, it has to perform, and so far has done so. After using these combo units on a trip to japan, I've been waiting for them to be available from a reliable maker in the US. The good. For most loads, the AI wash/dry cycle gets clothes clean and dry in between 2 and 2.5 hours. Not having to switch machines makes this really flexible for busy days, overnights etc. No more forgotten loads in the washer that need to be rewashed. Capacity is great, but you can't stuff it full. It takes 4+hrs if totally loaded (think shoved in to fit). Leave 1/3 to 1/2 the space empty and you'll be happy. Built in storage/dispenser for detergent and softener keeps things neat and easy. The machine is quiet. The app is intuitive, and has some fun features like changing the cycle complete tune as well. Very attractive unit. Single dial interface works well. Lots of options if you like them. 120v power and no vent is AWESOME. Flexible placement, no clogged dryer vents, no associated fire hazard, and uses so much less electricity. We have solar so our overall use is monitored daily, and it has dropped considerably given we run 5 to 10 loads a week. In CT power is expensive, this makes a huge difference and is overlooked by many. Very gentle on clothes, less shrinking, less color fading, comes out feeling "different" but probably because they are dry but not desert hot/dry and over worked. The different. You'll likely need to change your laundry approach. Instead of doing loads all weekend, back to back switching machines constantly (ie a load is ready every 60min once you get the process moving), daily laundry is better, and I've found much easier. No big piles to fold, kids can run a load on their own with 2 button pushes, and the whole process is just smoother. I really like the change it pushed. Some may not. The things I don't love. Minor but a few. First, the lint filter is on top of the machine, so you can't install under a counter. The filter is easy to clean, but the vent that discharges into it also collects lint and is a pain to remove and clean. Second, it collects lint on the seals. A quick wipe down every load keeps things clean, but be ready for that. Otherwise it ends up back in the clothes. We've had a few instances where it just didn't dry. One when the laundry room door was closed and the unit got hot. Seems to need good airflow even though it is using water to help condense moisture as it dries. It can handle large bedding. But you may find that it dries faster hanging it than in this machine, especially if it comes out damp and you select the dry only mode. Just hang it up if you can or drape over a railing. AI mode is fastest. Normal, wash/dry and dry only are 30 to 50 percent longer. Let the machine do the thinking when possible. Overall, fantastic purchase, hopefully it lasts.

This Machine is Engineering Art!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For two weeks now I've washed everything in sight, sometimes repeatedly, just for the joy and pleasure of using my new LG AI washer/dry combination machines. It is the best purchase I have made since purchasing the Smart June Oven the Zojirushi Breadmaker, and the Whynter ice cream maker. I've nick-named it my Tesla (the top model is the best car produced). It takes center place in my washroom with a striking piece of modern art displayed behind it. This machine is like working art - art that is also productive!

Positive Experience
So far the washer/dryer combo has performed as well as we hoped it would. It's nice to be able to throw a load of clothes in the washer at bedtime and not have to worry about switching it over to a dryer. And the saved space from having only one machine is a bonus. Although the owner's manual has to be accessed online, operating the machine is fairly intuitive.

So far so good
Purchased in Feb. Takes up less space in laundry room! Has worked out well for us. We were constantly leaving wet clothes in washer and having to rewash them. This is no longer an issue. Unfortunately the lint filter got stuck and couldn’t remove it without damaging it, but LG is sending a new one free of charge. The app is nice and gives more options for different cycles. Over all pleased with machine, time will tell.

Nightmare machine. Run away!
Had it for 1 month and it's the worst machine ever. It look like the perfect solution on paper but it's been a nightmare. First, it started drying forever stuck on 4 minutes. Repairman was sent out and said don't use detergent packs (even though it says they're ok in the manual). No improvement switching to liquid detergent. LG tech was sent out. Replaced the main board and sensor. No real improvement. This week it ran a load of towels and said on "4 minutes" drying for 12 hrs. I stopped it and the towels were like cardboard with a few damp spots. Totally ruined. Yesterday it stopped drying and now has a lot of moisture or something in the lint filter. We're a family of 5 so no washer/dryer is a huge problem. Asking for refund. I don't have the time to attempt another one. Run away,
