We are a family of two with two cats. I have tried so hard to love this machine but I can't. It just takes so long to dry a load and, rather than pet hair going into the filter as I'm used to, it very much stays on clothes and the rim of the machine. I have no complaint with the wash functions but regret not going with my initial choice of separate washer and dryer, where I could work on two loads (one load drying while another washes). I was advised that a wash/dry load takes about two hours. Not at all, I'm investing up to four hours in one load of laundry at times, depending on the fabric and size of load, and our loads are not family-sized, ever.

Using several of the functions already has been with ease. My laundry smells fresher and appears cleaner than it was previously. The machine is quiet, efficient and easy to operate. I like the features that remind you to clean the tub, vent, etc. When using the wash & dry setting, this can be a longer cycle at times, but it's a great function for setting the cycle and not having to switch the loads out. For busy schedules, this setting is wonderful. I tend to use it often when our family is on the go or lack time to be switching loads to and from a dryer. Love the machine!

I've had the WM6998HBA for about 6 months now. Would I buy it again, probably not. Cleaning the machine of lint is high maintenance - you have to clean the filter in the top after every use, vacuum or wipe off lint from the front tub liner, and then remove a vent from the top once in a while with a screw driver, and wipe lint off the glass. Also, dry times are not accurate - it usually takes an extra 1 or 2 hours to dry, and I live in a very dry climate. I do love the convenience of the all in one, but I wouldn't recommend for more than a household of 2, otherwise laundry time is just too long.

Now L.G. comes out with an ai enabled combo washer and dryer. I wasn’t able to get into the manual before my wife had it connect to the thin q app on her phone and changing the settings and starting a wash. I have been around a lot of innovation projects at some large companies and LG has really pushed the envelope on this unit. It senses your loads, how dirty the clothes are and takes care of the rest with the AI Wash and Dry setting. If you don’t trust the AI to take over your washing duties, select from 15 other wash cycles. My wife has to control it. I chose to let the AI do its thing. Yes, I would agree that larger and heavier loads do take longer to dry over my gas dryer. But since we load it up before we leave for work, it has 8 hours to wash and dry. With the Thin Q app, you can extend the drying time or start another cycle. I guess it just takes you to think differently on how to use the washer/dryer with the heat pump. Auto detergent/softener dispenser and the top lint collector, they have simplified the laundry process for me and my family. Not to forget the little brother that I also picked up. The LG SideKick Pedestal Washer. The wife and girls like it for washing smaller loads and their undergarments that need a little more TLC or just need to be air dried. As my wife said, #lifeisgood…

We’ve had the combo for 3 months and love it. Our condo is small so the laundry is in the second bathroom and this washer/dryer combo save so much space. As an added bonus I don’t lose socks and little items in a transfer from washer to dryer. My clothes are just as clean with the right amount of dryness.

Nevertheless, I am happy with the product for the most part. You can add detergent and softener so it is in the machine already. The lint is captured in the dryer for you to remove. The remote control on the phone app to control washing and drying cycles work as intended. I only wish there was more options for the drying time when we chose to wash only and then dry later.

BUY THIS! I have 5 kids and alot of cycles per week and when i say this is the most convenient product ever I mean it. The technology from washer to dryer is just amazing to me i can set it and go and not have to worry about switching from washer to dryer. I do wanna add its super quiet as well since my laundry room is right next to my room i throw in a load wake up and its done!
