Misleading customers in the capabilities
The product fails and truly does not really function as a dryer. In fact to get your cloths dried one would have to wait days before your clothes became sufficiently dry enough to avoid catching ammonia. It was so bad we had to buy a stand alone dryer in order to insure we had dry clothes to ware.

Faulty Machine. DO NOT BUY
Don't get this product. It's nice at first and pretty and the idea of having a washer and dryer combo is a cool idea. It is quiet, but not efficient in drying properly. Pet hair is an issue too. You can't wash large loads of laundry and expect them to dry. You have to run a dry cycle 4-5 times sometimes to even get your clothes remotely dry. Of course it isn't ventilated it's all electronically heated so that poses an issue of drying properly. Ours also started leaking even with all the cleaning and safety regulations we do after each wash. A huge pool of water below the machine occurred out of no where and none of the filters or parts seemed to be damaged and we did all we were suppose to do to clean it after each use. Don't get this combo.

Stylish and washes well but drying disappointing
The machine is a great concept. It is stylish and does a great job washing clothes. The ability to operate on 120 volts without venting is a huge bonus when application requires these options. The drying times are a big disappointment which would have swayed my purchase decision if LG disclosed the reality of a standard wash load requirements. I have found most loads take 3-4 hours to complete the wash and dry cycles. I would not recommend this product for families that wash several loads a week. It can be a time killer, luckily being retired I can work around this inconvenience but, had I known the true cycle times I would have chosen a standard 220 volt dryer unit.

A great washer AND dryer!
We are *delighted* with this product! We have been using it for about 6 months and have had no problems. One caution: unlike single purpose machines it is important to FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS! Don’t overload and make sure to clean the filter on the top of the machine after every use. It can do sheets, towels and heavier items without a problem as long as you don’t overload. We are amazed at how effective the heat-pump drying cycle is: the clothes really are toasty warm when they come out! We would definitely buy this combo again. If you are tall the pedestal is a favor to your back. What a space-saver and no dryer vent needed!
Hello, Johnson! What a fantastic review — you make this combo unit sound like the unsung hero of your home. Six months of smooth sailing, warm‑and‑cozy heat‑pump drying, and space‑saving brilliance is exactly the kind of experience we love to hear about. And your reminder about following the directions is spot‑on wisdom for keeping it running like a champ! For anything you need in the future, you can always reach out to @LGUSSupport.^James
Bad decision
The drying factor isn't working well. It's like it got clogged and now I have to dry two cycles instead of the one. It leaks from the bottom. It was great at first. Something is wrong with it. It's so hard to get ahold of LG care to get them to come out and look at it. I wish I had an original washer and dryer not the combo

It's garbag.Worse product I purchased in my life.
This product doesn't work as advertised. It takes average 6 hours to do a soso job. I had a very bad experience with this machine.
Hello, Gabino. We appreciate you sharing your experience with your LG Washer model WM6998HBA. We want to ensure your laundry routine runs efficiently and delivers excellent cleaning results within an optimal timeframe. To help regulate your cycle times, we recommend ensuring the load is well-balanced inside the drum to prevent the machine from adding extra time to correct an unbalance, and avoiding overloading so the system can tumble and dry effectively. Perma press dry
My only complaint is that there is no cool down on the permanent press drying cycle. The clothes are extremely hot. A cool down cycle would be beneficial for this mode
Hi there Chasbo! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. We hear you on the permanent press cycle running a bit hot, and we’ll make sure your note gets passed along to our product team. If you ever need anything in the meantime, @LGUSSupport is here for you. #LifesGood ❤️ -Rich
No good
We bought this machine in NNanaimo BC last year and it has been nothing but frustrating, it takes very long, and requires cleaning thi and that otherwise it doesn't perform. Like when you go get your clothes after 5 hours and still wet.. definitely not for a busy family like ours..
Great machine with some caveats
Seems to work quite well, does what it's supposed to. There is a learning curve if you're coming from the traditional vented dryer side; they do take longer to dry. All those negative reviews about exceptionally long dryer times...they must be doing something wrong. Ours came with the updated upper filter. There is a couple things of be aware of; make sure the filter at the bottom is screwed in tight or you will have a leak. There are well documented cases, and ours is one, where it will constantly trip the GFI breaker on dry mode. It will work fine on an extension cord to a non GFI plug, but that is not the point. This is an issue that LG does not seem to address as it is definitely a fault in the machine somehow. I used a 14-30 to 20 amp adapter to "fix" ours. Would give it 5 stars otherwise.
Thank you for the detailed and positive review of your LG WM6998HBA Washer/Dryer Combo. We appreciate you sharing your experience and the helpful advice regarding the learning curve for ventless drying and the bottom filter seal! We're glad to hear the unit is working quite well for you overall. We also genuinely appreciate you highlighting the documented GFI breaker issue and the workarounds you implemented. We understand this is a significant frustration that prevents a 5-star rating, and we use customer feedback like yours to highlight potential improvements to our engineering teams.
High maintenance/poor performance
We have owned our LG washer/dryer for just over 2 years. I was attracted to the design and size since I have a small laundry area and I only do laundry for 3 people. We have owned several LG products and have always thought they were good quality. This, however, is not worth the price. A few months after buying it, a load would take all night long (8 hour) to complete and still would not be dry. After doing some research, I cleaned the machine inside and out and it started working better. But it seems to require this maintenance every 6 months. Highly do not recommend.
Hello. Thank you for sharing your experience with your LG Washer Dryer Combo. To allow us to properly investigate the details of your specific product model and to see if there is anything we can do to assist with this drying‑performance issue being encountered, please send us an email at lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com if you need further assistance.
