The biggest advantage is the size- it has very large capacity and works so much better for sheets/blankets/comforters/ pillows. This has helped us cut down on the number of loads. We are family of 8 and we use our washing machine almost every single day. There are multiple temperature settings/ cycle settings which makes it convenient to operate. The fact that it can be operated through app is a great plus. The smart things app was very convenient to use too. It is so quite as compared to our old set of washer. I would highly recommend the washer and dryer to anyone who is looking to upgrade theirs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this washer! It arrived at the perfect time as I had a bunch of laundry I needed to do including my bedding and 3 blankets for the dogs. I did 3 loads of laundry - 1 for my bedding, 1 for the dogs bedding and 1 for clothes. This would usually take me AT LEAST 5 separate loads but this washer had so much extra space. I've used about 4 of the 17 wash cycles, including downloading the Eco Cold onto it from the SmartThings app. Speaking of the app - setting it up was a complete breeze. I've used SmartThings extensively before but this was by far the easiest. After installing and running a test load I was prompted on my phone to connect to the washer. The best part is I was all the way up stairs and it still connected. When I went downstairs to check on it I was able to easily scan the QR code to finish the setup. I wasn't entirely sure how I felt about the wifi feature but after spending the day using it I love being able to check on the status or get the remaining time. This is even more true because the washer is just *so* quiet that I can't tell if it's running from anywhere else in the house. Now I just get a notification on my phone that it's done and I know to go down there. While we're on the topic of the app, there was only one downside that I have found with the washer and the app so far - I would love to be able to create my own custom preset that I could download to the washer. For example I typically wash my clothes on "Normal" but with cold water. The washer by default uses hot water, which isn't a big deal to change. However if I could just create a new preset on the app and download it to the washer that would be absolutely amazing and I do feel like this is a missed opportunity. However there is just so much to love here. The huge capacity and nearly silent operation are almost mind blowing. I also love that as I'm changing settings on the control panel that it shows me exactly how long it will be running for. Attached is a not-so-great photo of my current setup. I have a shelf above the units that will either need to be raised or re-located as these are slightly taller than my old ones. So for the time being they're sticking out further than necessary in order to use them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an awesome washer for anyone who enjoys smart home devices and Samsung products.  As a washing machine, it preforms perfect like you would expect from a Samsung appliance.  I have washed numerous loads of laundry by now and have had no issues getting clothes of all types clean.  There are many different presets for different types of clothes or other laundry items.  The best part however, is the addition of the smart features.  It was extremely simple to connect to the Samsung Smart Things app. Once connected it can be easily controlled from the app.  You can set the exact settings you want and send them to the washer.  The best part is being able to see how much time is remaining and getting notifications when complete.  The only downside is that you have to remember to turn the washer on and enable smart control each time you use it.  As long as you remember to do this when putting the clothes in however, it isn't much of a problem.

This is the most uneven and poorly made washing machine I have ever owned. Almost every cycle larger than halfway full it comes unbalanced and gives the "DC" error code. We are constantly very meticulously rebalancing and reorganizing our laundry, but the machine has part of its process where it spins back and forth and literally unbalances the contents itself! It cannot clean sheets, towels, or anything large because of this. Just constant unbalance and error code and beeping. Worst part is each time it comes unbalanced and the DC error code comes up, it drains and refills the water when you restart it! Such a massive waste of water constantly draining and refilling. I try to run "Spin Only" cycle and it fills with water too!! Even though there's a "Rinse and Spin" option it still fills with water on "Spin Only"! Our water bill has skyrocketed using this piece of crap. If you value your sanity and wallet do not buy this.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this washer. I replaced an old washer I had with this one and it is a huge difference. First off, this washer has quite a lot of space. So it's perfect for large families or even those big quilts you have at home. It washes the clothes seamlessly. I love the fact that you can use the Smart Things App on your phone with this washer. It basically let's you know when your washer is done and more. There is even recommendation on what settings to use for your laundry. I highly recommend this washer to anyone looking to upgrade.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought our last washer over 10 years ago and it was finally starting to have problems. We went shopping to pick out a new washer, expecting to get one about the same size as our old one (4.5 cubic feet). When my wife saw this 5.4 cubic feet Samsung washer, she immediately wanted it. I liked the features, the build quality, and the fact it was a smart washer that could connect to Samsung SmartThings which I was already using for my TV and a smart computer monitor. My wife loves that even though it is a smart washer, she can do everything she needs using buttons and dials like she is used to. Does an excellent job getting our clothes clean and at washing larger loads like bankets.

We bought this machine with the matching dryer in August of 2024. I have been using it for 10 frustrating months. I HATE it. Even on deep fill which I have to use every wash, it doesn’t use enough water to wash and rinse the clothing. The clothing constantly tangles which is very difficult to untangle. The tub is so deep I have to use a reacher tool to get my clothes out. Once out of balance, forget trying to balance it. Washing pillows comforters, blankets has to be done separately because they will never balance. I was washing my granddaughter’s clothing, pretreating them, using deep fill and soak cycle and those clothes NEVER came clean. Too many times the clothes came out with detergent on them because unless you use the “fabric softener “ option, the water won’t be deep enough to rinse the clothing. Now the real problem other than the lack of water, is the fact the washing motion is a joke. It really doesn’t move the clothing at all, and yes, I put the clothing in the “donut” shape. It does not stay in that position by the way, which is where all the clothes get tangled. I have watched a baby’s winter vest float on top of the water for the whole cycle. Detergent just sat on top of it. It never washed or rinsed off . I kept pushing it down, but without drum movement, it just kept floating up. When I say it barely moves, I mean the movement is barely perceptible. I was told that it was supposed to rotate your clothing in the donut shoe and move down through the middle and back around . It barely moves the water - no water splashes or ripples. If it can’t move the water, it can’t move the clothing. I am so entirely frustrated. Why make a machine that barely moves? That is $800+ that we have wasted and I don’t know what to do. The glass lid is a total gimmick. The condensation doesn’t allow to see a thing and the glass scratches so easily. Stay clear of this machine. It’s a waste of money!

This is 5.5 cu.ft, we are able to 1 load a week.. saves water & electricity :) I was able to connect this washer with my Smartthings setup (setting up with my iPhone was little clumsy, so I used my wifes Samsung phone to setup it up), it works great, I have option to start the washer from my phone, but the most useful part is, get alerts when the washer is done. Loving it. And the washer runs very quiet, does make loud thumping noise like my old one!!

I was brought up with top loaders from when I was very young and so I bought this beautiful top loaders with no agitator. It's big enough for comforters and my pillows with out taring apart. Very happy with my decision.
