I had this printer at work for about 6 months. Pros: compact, fast, quiet. Cons: horrible color/picture quality, can't double side print from top document feeder, laggy touch screen menu, feels low quality. I had an HP before this one and went back to an HP after this one and am much happier with HP. Would not recommend this printer.

Easy to set up and compact. Liked the simple tank system with quick ink filling. Very impressed with print speed and quick response with our pc's print commands. Very clear print with only a slight difference in color with our other printer. The Brother is intended to be our day to day printer as the other is set up for card stock etc. To be a perfect five star an ethernet would have been nice. However the direct WIFI seems to work just fine.

Good printer so far. Scans and prints very fast. Quality is good. Only problem I have had is that one of rollers on the paper feeder on the scanner was off (out of place) when I set the printer up. Once I located it and got it out of the feeder mechanism and got it back in place it has stayed there so far. The paper feed works pretty well but the sheets that have been scanned don't stack well and get scrambled sometime. Ink seems to be reasonably priced and it appears that I will be able to use non-OEM ink if I want to.

Have loved this printer since we got it. The hidden paper storage and feeder contributes to a very clean look. The speed of printing color and B&W is very fast. Also love using the wifi to send internet pages for print. Scanning is also easy and convenient. Highly recommend.

My one complaint is that the printer and my desk top do not share WIFI as my previous Brother printer did. I need to get WIFI from the printer before I can access on my computer. I live in a retirement facility with in house WIFI provided by Dual Path. A professional had to hook it up via USB which limits where I can move the printer. Extra cost for me.

This is the worst printer or electronic device I have ever owned. The screen is small, and the printer control panel is printed in such a way it is difficult to read. It sends scans to some AppData\Local\Temp\ folder buried in c drive , which I can't figure out how to change, instead of a folder in Pictures library like my old one did. It occasionally disconnects from the computer connected via USB. Sometimes the printer stops printing, and the print queue won’t delete unless I go into devices. Then I encountered print alignment issues that couldn't be corrected with MS Office documents but not with non-office documents, PDFs, pictures, etc. Unfortunately, all All-In-One printers, no matter what brand, seems to be overly complicated and have difficult to use.

I bought this to replace an HP printer and I am so glad I switched to Brother. I love this printer! It's fast, even when printing in color. Pictures come out great! The color is very accurate. I was a little worried about the set up after reading the reviews but it was actually very easy. It took me about 15 minutes to set it up to print wirelessly from my laptop and with the USB cable from my desktop computer. I highly recommend this product

Printing from Mobile Devices is limited to certain brands unless you use a 3rd party app even over Wi-Fi. The printer also sleeps and is not awakened by print request from mobile devices. Prior to ordering the printer I checked to see if it was compatible with Chromebook with an affirmation from Brother. However, when I tried to pair the 2, they were not compatible and there was no information from Brother online...I had to search for about 45 minutes to find a reviewer who revealed that the Mopria App would bridge the gap here. Very frustrating. It is also very frustrating to have to go from one room to another to "wake up" the printer in order to make it print.

Bought this particular printer because I do photo calendars and needed a printer that could accommodate card stock. My first task for my new printer was the calendars. Worked very well for 6 calendars. On the seventh the printer printed half of the page and stopped in the printer. Shut it off to retrieve the page. It did it a second time. Frustrated, I used another printer to complete the job. I have been using it for small plain paper jobs without incident. Hopefully that was just a glitch and won’t happen again. I bought the extended warranty so hopefully if something happens again it will happen while still on warranty.

It is taking me a while to get used to it but it is quiet and fast. I just have a problem with card making using the rear of the printer for cards. Wish I could just put card stock in the front. Other than that I like the printer. I had a HP for ages but like this one better.
