Trouble since the beginning. Poor print hairy, wavy lines. Cleaned the ink, switched the ink, ran maintenance. Nothing works.

Easy setup, great printer! I would recommend and purchase Brother printers.

The printer works well. Had an issue when we used a thicker paper to print on. The machine would continue to jam every time. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because Brother replaced it. The company stands behind their products. Be careful the type of paper. Be sure to use the back loader if a thicker paper to avoid damage and jams.

I had my first Brother printer for 9 months and then it completely stopped working. I was sent a refurbished replacement which lasted for a month before it to clogged its ink heads and stopped working. I've been able to resuscitate the refurbished unit for now, but have no faith that it will continue working.

This printer was initially great. I especially liked the duplex ability as my previous HP printer did not have that functionality. After 16 months, however, the print quality deteriorated with white lines and uneven alignment. The printer provides print quality improvement maintenance which can improve the quality. It prints a Print Quality Check Sheet which you check for missing dashes in each of the 4 colors. If so, it then does print head cleaning in that color. It also can print an Adjustment Sheet which is then scanned to perform automatic realignment. My printer, however, is now printing a good Print Quality Check Sheet and yet prints my very next document with streaks and inconsistent darkness in the black color. My printer prints an Adjustment Sheet which is so streaky that automatic realignment cannot be completed. I do not recommend this printer.

Printer is very nice, but connecting to the home network was not fun, especially with the tiny command screen. It's connected now and making great prints. We like the small footprint and soft color - no more big black box! Two years of ink remains to be seen.

The print quality, speed of print and paper handling are all excellent. The biggest problem comes not only with the very wee size of the control screen but also the fact that ii always has some kind of cryptic message on it. For example, it will be asking me something about if I want to change the paper size and if I do to press some button and if I don't to press another button. It never tells me how to turn off the messages . . .

All is well. Printer and all functions work as expected. Wireless install went smoothly. No bugs. Bought this printer for color / copy / scan as needed, and hope the Ink Supply lasts as long as purported. Also bought this printer because my Brother black and white laser printer has and continues to work as my workhorse printer after lots of years... and never a problem

A compact printer that has some pluses: big paper tray, two sided printing. Good quality. We had a setup problem, with an immediate request that we “update the firmware”. This was really challenging, requiring that a very long wacky hidden password be entered on the tiny display on the printer itself. No actual keyboard to do so however. Just an antiquated matrix where you scroll up and down arrows to find the character, and change to upper case and a numerical display. No clear detailed instructions. I finally gave up and spent a couple of hours with tech support. What a hassle and time waster. I have not tried the scanner yet.

I have had brother printers all my life. It's the only brand I buy. They are reliable and durable. I have owned brother printers since 1987. This model is fabulous. Connects right away, no problems, super fast. My only complaint and the reason I cannot give five stars is I wish it had a larger paper capacity like my last model with two drawers.
