Bought this in Oct 2023 and it worked great until a couple days ago and the lid decided not to go up anymore. Sounds like it wants to but won't. Even replaced the batteries but that didn't help. Kind of a lot of money for a trash can that o ly lasts 9 month.

I bought two of these and both of the lids stopped working after a year and no longer under warranty. I changed batteries, cleaned lids, applied wd40, everything I could think of and they refused to open more than an inch. If you only want your trash can to work for a year then buy it, otherwise I suggest buying something else.

Horrible quality and design. Our stop working after a few months, tried to contact the Ninestar immediately and left several messages. No one has contacted us back. The automated system says they're not even sending out warranty replacements parts until April. Purchased 2 sets (one as a house warming present) and regret them both.

After having these cans for a year, the plastic gear that opens the large can has cracked and now the lid will not open or close by itself anymore. My son also owns these cans and the exact same thing happened to his! DO NOT BUY unless you want it to be useless within a year.

I bought one for myself several years ago. I have not had any problems with either the lid or the can itself. I have yet to change batteries. We use it in the kitchen so it gets a great deal of use. I was so pleased with mine that I have been giving this same trash can as gifts. The recipients thought it was a joke but have become avid fans of the 9 Star Sensor Trash Can.

First, I ordered the EKO which they didn't have anymore, so I ordered the Nine Stars. Of course, I got two cans for the price of one. They are great. I just like to walk by it and wave my hand to make it open. With the optional buttons that opens it and keeps it open until you are ready to close it is the best feature. Everyone should have one. Only had it for a month, so I can't tell about how long the batteries will last. We will see.

I love how they these trashans look and the touchless opening system but the quality is poor. The small one quit opening after a few months of use and the large one quit opening after having it a year. both need to be opened manually now, which is a pain and I am searching for something new. Don't waste your money on these!

Look nice, heavy, seem well made except for when tried to open battery compartment to install batteries the tab broke off (cheap plastic). Biggest complaint is if you walk by too closely or if our (large) dog walks by, it will open. Easy to open manually so you could turn it off unless cooking etc where would be most helpful to be on auto if needed.

Based on the listed specifications, I ran out and bought D and C cell batteries. Unfortunately, the specs are incorrect. The larger unit runs on three C cells, the smaller on two C cells. So, I have a bunch of D cells that I have no use for. Will look forward to using these cans, anyway...as soon as I buy some more C cells!

We have had these a month now and they are wonderful. Our friends are already purchasing them.
