Worked great at first, then the top stopped workin

I brought this and was very excited, but like everyone else, the big trash can stopped working. It sounds like something is broken in it. I went online and completed the form for the warranty to try to have the lid replaced and have yet to hear anything back. So now I have a trash can that is supposed to be automatic but is not. As a single mom, I don't have a lot of discretionary funds, so this is upsetting.

The worst lid and battery assembly

The lid is operated by two flimsiest hinges. I've had to replace it but you can't just replace the top part you have to buy THE WHOLE TOP!! Which is half the price of the new trashcan! On top of that, the battery lid's lip is right in the way of the trash so you will, at some point, knock it in to the trash and need to replace it too for a low price of $15 plus shipping!

Sensor stopped working after 2 months

Had this set for a whole two months before the sensor on the 13 gallon can stopped working. I have tried to contact the company many times and have yet to get a reply back. I can't even buy the lid off their website, it says it's unavailable. Will be returning this.

3 pairs all stopped working within months/days

This is the 3rd pair of Nine Stars sensor trash cans I have bought in the past 3 years. They all have the same problem - the sensors that open the cans do not last (some longer than others). The first pair lasted six months and were great while they worked. So, I bought a second pair before Christmas, waiting months before opening the box, and both cans worked well - for 2 days, before the sensor on the large one stopped working. It continued to make noise as if it would open, but would not open. I had also given a pair as a gift, and those stopped working within a few months as well. We tried multiple sets of new batteries with no luck. It is a real hassle to get anything resolved with this company, and their application for claim has so many caveats, I would not even try again. Reaching them by phone is impossible. The replacement lids cost as much as another (good) trash can from a different company would cost. So...that is what I will be doing from now on - ordering a different brand. Since the part on top that is supposed to open is flush with the frame around it, it is impossible to flip open manually, so I am going to try putting a handle on the large can so that it can be used for something and will not be a total loss.

Nice cans

Very nice looking and great price. Only downfall is the kitchen size one is a bit smaller than my Rubbermaid one & the small one the cover for the batteries didn’t hold well. I ended up accidentally throwing out the batteries and cover cause they fell off.

Lid doesn't work

Lid hasn't worked well since we got it. It sticks open and you have to reset the lid to get it to open much too often.

Disappointed

After reading some of these reviews, I guess my lid lasted longer than most. A little over a year. Started making weird noises and the lid stopped working on the large can. The small one still hanging in there.
