Guage required for 50ft extension

I need to connect the 2200i to 50ft extension cable to run fridge/ freezer & tv & some lights from one of the standard plug sockets. What guage extension cord do I need? Can I run second extension cord off the first, or do I need to get another 100ft extension cord for the other plug on the generator so I can also run tv & lights - as circa 50ft away from fridge. Struggling to work this out before I can test generator. Thanking you in advance. Will update rating once I can use generator.

Unbelievably Quiet!

I bought this generator to run my Ice House/Camper. All of the 2000 units were not powerful enough to run my AC Unit. This unit has been great, I was able to run the AC, Refrigerator, TV, DVD, Lights, and Coffee maker all at the same time. The IQ3500 is also the quietest unit I have seen, it is as quiet as the 2000 watt units. Only thing I would like to see improved is the LCD display, on bright days it is a little hard to read and I would like it to stay on hours remaining. You have to scroll though all options each time. Either way not a big deal. Over all a great unit and I would highly recommend it.

Outstanding generator.

I spent 3 months researching generators for my RV. I chose the Generac IQ3500 after carefully comparing all brands. This is the RIGHT CHOICE!! Outstanding generator. Very well constructed and solid. SUPER, SUPER QUIET. Easily runs my entire RV with AC. Easy to operate. The IQ3500 is defiantly the "top of the line". I highly recommend this generator.

It runs the RV AC and it's quiet.

The Generac GP3000i is a great little generator. I almost didn’t buy it because I couldn’t find any reviews. I’m glad I did - It’s quiet, light weight, easy to operate, and powerful enough to run the 13,500 BTU A/C unit in my Airstream. I can’t comment on reliability or durability yet, but Generac has a good reputation so, I’m not worried about that. This is the second generator I bought this summer. The first was a lower cost open frame generator (NOT a Generac) which leaked oil like crazy and was so loud the campers in Shenandoah National Park applauded when it turned off. In looking for a replacement, I really wanted something quiet and powerful enough to run our RV A/C. So far the Generac meets all my expectations. Light weight ~ 59lbs. It’s pretty similar to lifting a dumbbell. It can be done with one hand. Super Quiet – is an accurate description. At 20 feet it’s slightly louder than ambient noise. Power – it barely surges when starting the Airstream A/C (2-3 second surge) and then normalized almost instantly. It had no trouble running the A/C and everything else in the trailer concurrently (running the microwave at the same time as the A/C is too much). Easy to start – typically starts in one easy pull. My only complaint (and this is small) is that I had to buy a RV 30 amp adapter to connect to the Twistlock Outlet. It was ~ $12.

Nice unit, but difficult to start

I have older version of this unit (G0071171). It was difficult to start when we first got it , but has gotten worse with time. Now, even when unit is sixty degree range it takes 16 pulls of starter rope to start the generator. It has less than twenty five hours running time on it.

Generac GP2200I Generator

Bought online thru HomeDepot.ca.. Recieved approx month ago.. first out of the box started hard. three or more pulls.. then when it did start ran rough and surging .. Tried again couple of weeks later and same. hard to start and surging etc.. Note new gas installed when recieved. Tried again last Friday and the same thing..... Called Generac and got name of approved Generac sales/service in my area here in NB Can. called both and neither would do anything for this unit. Contacted a local shop who does small engine repair (not authorized dealer of General.. Took it in to them and got it back yesterday.. had to to a clean up and tune up. they said it was a gas problem mostly as there was gunk in the carb. total cost to me $69.00 canadian.. now it works fine.. Am I pleased with it. yes NOW but had to fork out that money for a unit that had approx 1 hr. running time. not overly pleased bu guess I will have to live with it..

All gasoline generators

I recommend on using recreational Fuel in all gasoline portable equipment. And if you are going to let it sit for an extended amount of time , run a stabilizing additive In the fuel tank and start engine for about a minute or so. To be on the safe side if the unit is not going to be in service for months I would drain fuel tank then start engine to run fuel out of all lines and also drain carburetor fuel bowl.

Great features

Purchased the GP5500 as a emergency power source after a recent hurricane that came from the gulf up through most of the state of Louisiana. I worked at a big box store and compared prices on line and decided to purchase the generac because of the good reviews and the price was great. I got it home and it took about thirty minutes to set up and got it running. The unit started on it's first pull. I like the no flat tires that is included. Like most reviewers stated, the unit is louder than some other brands. I prefer noise over no power at all. Luckily we haven't had to utilize the unit yet but hurricane season is in full swing right now.

Add more trouble with this product right out of the box

It's a big generator a heavy generator and a very very noisy generator. We've had trouble from day one we've had to replace the starter once and after that and has run rough the Generac dealership worked on it and said it was something to do with the engine. I have bought suitcases from Generac the IP series and had no trouble with him this one my friends is noisy heavy bulky you cannot read the panels on them it's an LED readout very very hard to read I just wish Jen erect had stayed with the gauges they used on the suitcases generators. Also trying to get to the oil spout is very difficult to change the oil I had to buy a pump just to pump the oil out of it. There's a lot of features that need to be worked on this generator. I bought two of them for our deer camps both have the same problems.
