Just bought this generator and I am so pleased. It is exactly as described. Runs my whole camper 13,500 BTU AC all lights etc. Runs nice and quiet. For the money I haven't seen a better product on the market. Comes with all you need to get started including a funnel to put the oil in the generator. I invited my neighbor over to check out my new generator for camping and he's already left to go order one online like I did. I'll come back and update this review after a few months of use and let you know if I am still happy with this generator. Thanks Generac for what I believe is going to be an awesome generator from what I have seen thus far.

I like Generac generators they are nice and quiet more or less some of the quietest on the market and then I got one of the 5200s and it is very quiet for its size but then it started having issues I had to take it to the shop a couple of times but Generac came through they actually gave me a new one was not expecting that but I'm glad they did so I still like Generac if you want to quiet generator that's not embarrassing to run then you need to get a Generac

I got my iq5200df a couple of months ago and have used it once when we had a 16 hour power outage. I ran it on propane and it performed beautifully It allowed me to run 2 refrigerators and a freezer simultaneously and still watch tv. I'd unplug a refrigerator and then plug in the microwave or coffee maker, toaster or whatever so I had all I needed to have running when I needed it. The push button start instructions could be a little clearer but I figured that out. It seems like a top grade machine so far.

I am a very senior citizen and have limited strength. I purchased this electric start so I could easily start the generator when needed. Haven't needed it yet but it starts each time I test it. I had a manual start Generac for years that worked always when needed. Very good product.

I bought this unit around a month ago. I’m familiar with it as I work at a retail store and I’ve sold these to customers in the past. It’s a really nice unit. Dual fuel, wisper quiet, electric start and plenty of power for my needs. Very pleased.

Purchased the iQ5200 several months ago. Nice quiet generator, just remember to point the exhaust away from the walls or the CO sensor will shut it down I finally figured that out ever since it's running like a CHAMP.

Been using my generator for about a month now. I use it to power a 5000 BTU camping air conditioner. The only issue I have is that there is no way to turn eco mode off and when the compressor starts it goes into safe mode and shuts down because the automatic eco shutoff doesn't give enough power fast enough. I added a small fan that pulls about 95 watts to increase the idle slightly and now it works great. Also I wish the fuel tank was at least 2 gallons.

Initially I was extremely pleased with the GP2500i portable inverter generator during my first 5 day outage in June 2026. It was relatively easy to start and I used it to recharge my lithium power supplies which were supporting my essentials (fridge, sump pump, a few lights). Then in August we had an 11 day outage due to a derecho resulting in a multiple county widespread damage and power loss. It worked fine for a couple days but then started struggling, even shutting down. Oil was fine, cap was not so tight as to restrict gas flow. We poured out the gas and filled with fresh; no improvement. I was using regular gas, 87 octane with 10% ethanol. Non-ethanol gas was not available. Additives to address possible moisture may have helped a bit but not enough. I finally switched to highest 97 octane/10% ethanol fuel which did the trick and the generator ran reliably. So in future when needed I will use high octane gas.

Many problems. First generator I got from the store was horrible. Nearly impossible to start, died 10 minutes after starting it, then when I tried to restart it the starter cord broke on the first pull. Returned that one and got a second one. It runs but lags heavily on the voltage increase and doesn't manage to get up to its minimum rated voltage. Forget the peak voltage, it cannot peak at the minimum. Then let's talk about the instructions. It has two different ways listed to measure the oil, no break-in instructions and is very weak in almost every other category of maintenance. Incredibly minimal for a company with as much history as yours. Maybe you should drop Vietnam production and bring it back to the USA.

I used the generator during a power outage. It ran fine on propane - the only problem I had was that refrigerator kept tripping the breaker on the outlet. Is there a solution for this?
