Good product

I think its a great generator, however it was damaged upon delivery. The housing cage was bent and the panel also a little bent up. Normally I would have sent it back but needed it ASAP. Overall it runs great but was extremely disappointed with the damage upon delivery.

Great Generator

Bought this generator to power my RV for off grid camping. Have only been out with it once so far but are very impressed with it. Starts like a dream and easily powers my AC and other things. Runs very quiet on economy mode. My only suggestion is that it needs wheels since it’s quite heavy to lift.

Overloads for no reason.

I bought this unit for a month long trip. This thing turns off after a very short time displaying"overloaded" no matter what you do. I tested it with just a 1500 watt coffee pot and same result... "overloaded" Very dissatisfied with this product as it left us without power for a majority of our trip which was 80% dry camping. Don't recommend

Great features

Purchased the GP5500 as a emergency power source after a recent hurricane that came from the gulf up through most of the state of Louisiana. I worked at a big box store and compared prices on line and decided to purchase the generac because of the good reviews and the price was great. I got it home and it took about thirty minutes to set up and got it running. The unit started on it's first pull. I like the no flat tires that is included. Like most reviewers stated, the unit is louder than some other brands. I prefer noise over no power at all. Luckily we haven't had to utilize the unit yet but hurricane season is in full swing right now.

Quiet and smooth

Like so many others, we are experiencing fairly frequent outages. Most are quite brief but recently we had one that lasted all day. If it hadn’t been warmer weather we might have had a problem. So.,.. we took the plunge and bought a generator. Since we live on a townhouse and don’t own it, I decided to buy something with enough capacity for the essentials. I also wanted to be able to run as cord to the neighbours to keep them in heat as weIl. It also had to be quiet and reliable. Portability was important. I found everything I wanted in this model. I’m presently making a storage box to keep it outside do I don’t have to carry it up from the basement although it’s doable. I would recommend this product. As a matter of fact, I recommended Generac to my mother and sister in law. They got a larger one since they had the space and wanted something to run more things in the house. Noise level also wasn’t as big a factor for them.

Generac 2500i Inve

Purchased this machine in May,2021 from the local Ace. Put fuel in and oil and it started after a few pulls. Then my power went out and needed to use it. Took several pulls to finally start it. With just a refrigerator plugged in, it was running rough. But it saved the food in my fridge. A couple weeks ago, it wouldn't start at all. I thought there's got to be an issue and should be covered under warranty. Nope, fuel issues. Gummed up carburetor. Not covered under warranty. Cost me $110 to fix. Now the repair place said not to use regular unleaded fuel. Especially when its stored. You Tube said there are tiny openings in the carb that get clogged from sitting from the ethanol fuel. Repair place recommends buying a Honda instead. More expensive, but without the headaches. Fair warning if you are thinking about buying a Generac. Less than 2 years old and already the carb is gummed up.

An almost perfect generator

I bought 2 of the Generac GP3000i generators. Both are very, very quiet and easy to use. I can run our RV air, refrigerator and charge a golf cart at the same time on a single unit, but I like the parallel kit when I need a little more. I wish there was a way to do an extended run fuel system to get longer run time between gas refills. I think at this price point it should also have a built in hour meter. The little door at the top to access the spark plug flies off of both of them when it is in the bed of my truck and should really be better designed. One of the generators has less capability than the other and goes into fault mode randomly. We will see what customer service is like to correct that issue. I would buy another one if I needed it.

Not worth the price

Bought this last year and was disappointed it wouldn’t run a small ac. It will start up and run for a few seconds but then goes into limp mode. Won’t run a toaster or microwave without going into limp mode. My old Honda 2500 ran it fine. It hardly idles with no load. Tried to return but couldn’t. Told to call generac which I did several times with just the runaround. I basically use it to charge the trailer battery. Haven’t found anyone who can make it work as advertised

Very quiet and easy to maintan

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the iQ3800 for home backup during storms and weekend RV trips—and it’s been outstanding. It kicks out 3,800 starting watts (3,100 running) on gas or 3,420/2,790 on propane, giving me flexibility when fuel is tight. Despite its power, it stays impressively quiet, so I can run it overnight without bothering the neighbors. Built with a rugged steel frame and protected outlets, it’s held up to bumps and rough handling, and the Eco‑Mode™ engine control delivers smooth, efficient performance under varying loads. I love the electric start (with manual backup) and the Smart CO™ shutoff for safety. Routine upkeep is a breeze thanks to tool‑free access to the oil fill and air filter. For reliable, low-noise power and minimal maintenance whenever and wherever I need it, the Generac iQ3800 has been a fantastic, peace-of-mind investment.
