Quiet Little Powerhouse

This is a well built generator with lots of features. We moved across the country and left our old generator with the house. My wife is on oxygen and we wanted something just in case of an extended power outage. It doesn't happen much here in AZ compared to where we lived before so just wanted something to run her machine, the refrigerator and a few lights. I like the electric start but it does start easy with the recoil starter. The fuel gauge and information center is nice. Compared to our old generator this is really quiet. It doesn't make as much noise as the A/C unit outside, which is important living in a subdivision now. After a lot of research we decided on this one and have been happy so far. I will be adding a transfer switch in the future to make it even easier to connect. One note, it is heavy for one person to move around. I bought a moving dolly that is the perfect size, so rolling it around is not bad.

Easy Starting, Light Weight & Powerful

I needed a generator; out power went out and my 35-year-old PowerMate 800 would not start. I wanted something light weight and with enough power to keep my sump pump and refrigerator running. The GP2200i fit the bill perfectly. Easy to setup - just add the oil included in the box using the funnel included and fill it with gas. One pull and it started. Very quiet running, I filled the tank every 6 hours or so, it never ran out of gas. Had it running for almost 2 days solid. It kept the sump and refrigerator running with no problem. I highly recommend the Generac brand. Built in the USA in Milwaukee!

Nice product. GP2200i

Arrived in excellent condition. Fill with oil and it started right up. Very quiet. Plugged a saw all into it and it ran it with no problem . Bought it to run a pellet stove during a power outage. I see no reason it wouldn’t handle that and probably the frig also.

Generac GP2200i Portable Generator

Decided to buy this generator in Aug, 2020 with using it for camping in mind, but due to COVID 19 have postponed camping. In November, 2020 we had a major ice storm in Edmond, OK and were without power for 5 1/2 days. This little generator was a real life saver. It helped us power several items at different times, i.e. refrigerator, coffee maker and television and allowed us to charge our phones, laptops, etc. It is amazing how God plants a thought into your mind and you act on it and everything works out as it should. Thanks, Generac for an excellent product. It started immediately and ran like a champ for the full 5 1/2 days. We will probably get another one for 2021 camping season.

I like this iq3500 except.....

Seems like a great product but the motor started surging after the first hour of usage. I suppose there is a plugged orfice of some sort in the carburetor but I don’t really want to take it off and clean it. The fuel filter should have taken care of this issue. ??

Very Impressed

I don't like giving 5's but a 4 ("Good") didn't seem like enough. 4.5 is where I'd like to be. Let me start by saying I've never owned a generator, but we wanted one that could get us through an extended power outage and could be used to run a few power tools in a remote location. I probably didn't need a 3500 but I'm sick of going small and regretting not getting the bigger one, so I went with the iQ3500. First all the things I like. The generator looks great (I know that doesn't matter, but trust me, it does), and it feels like a tank. After I filled it with gas and oil, I went to start it. It's got an electric start but I wanted to see how the cord start felt. I pulled the cord out super slow to see how long the recoil would be and it started! Seriously, I barely pulled the cord and it started first try. The next thing I noticed is how crazy quiet it is! And when you put it on Eco mode, you could have it in the middle of a tailgate and people would tell you to turn own the music before they told you to turn off the generator. I used it to power up my table saw, drill, shop vac (not same time), which were no problem, and of course plugging in lots of low pull items like a radio, fan, etc. is nothing for this thing. Now the thing I don't like: I mentioned it is built like a tank....well, it's as heavy as one too. To call it portable is a stretch. My wife and I can move it around, but we wouldn't want to carry it too far. Either it needs to be made with wheels or some sort of cart should be an add-on. But that's the only bad thing I've found so far. Really impressed with this, and it's a U.S. company too!

Easy to use and to start

After three months without electricity in Puerto Rico because of the effects on huracan Maria, we decided to buy this inverter and it has been working great. It is very easy to use and to start. I even use my washing machine which it was what I missed most during the past three month because washing clothes with my hands was one of the most difficult shores to do.

More Power

Overall great unit. However, room for improvement on power options and design. Pro's - Super Quiet and Fuel Efficient. Cons - Not available in bigger options. Would love to see something in the 4000-5000W range with some sound dampening. Or, design a cover for your open frame options. Lastly, please add some wheels to this thing!

Pretty nice gear for the money

Needed a backup and bug out generator. I’ve had to evacuate twice for hurricanes in 3 years. Had a generator, but fuel was an issue after the storm - hard to get. This model is big enough to run my new fridge (very low power) and even do some basic amenities and to charge a phone and other things. I put in the oil and was pleased at the toolkit and funnel provided. Nice touch. Put in a cup of ethanol free gas (89) treated with Sea Foam and that puppy literally started on one pull. Very smooth and quiet. Tested all the plugs - all good. Took the rest of the pint of oil (supplied) after it ran 10 minutes. Very slick design. The out of oil cutoff is brilliant. It has features really designed to make this a brilliant camping/event solution. Would like to see instructions to purge the carb bowl added to the manual, and the registration site is register.generac.com, not what it says on the manual. I have a great little backup that is quiet enough to take camping or to events. Really a sweet little generator.

Excited about this generator. Great look at very reasonable price.

I bought this generator as a backup for the home's Refrigerator and Freezer in the event of power outage. It has plenty of cranking amps and wattage to power those and several other small appliances. It is relatively light weight and the hand hold handle makes it easy when moving it around. I may even use it for some outdoor construction projects. I cranked it after I recieved it and it is really quiet... I like that - shouldn't offend the neighbors. Easy pull start and a great sleek look. I would recommend this product to anyone needing a generator in this class!
