I wanted a quiet unit that would power several items while doing BBQ competitions and events. I am very happy about how quiet this unit is and it has more than enough power to run all my equipment. I was also pleased on how easy the pull start was on this unit. I would gladly recommend a GP3000i to anyone looking for an inverter generator.

It would be usefull to have known the derate info before purchase. The info is on page 5 in the book. 3.5% per 1000ft above sea level is significant at 10,000 ft. If I had known to reduce the expected output by 35% I would have considered a larger unit. I'll still put it to good use and the portability is wonderful.

I bought this generator to run my cab-over camper on various trips throughout the year. I had a 2K watt previously and it just wasn't enough to handle the microwave and other accessories, so I upgraded to the Generac 3K watt and at first was impressed at how quiet it was and how it seemed to handle all my accessories fairly easy ripening through the 30amp RV outlet, but then...on a recent trip I decided to camp in a tent shelter and use the generator to run a 1500 watt space heater to keep warm at night, but unfortunately it was not able to run the heater without going into fault mode. So I went to town and bought a second heater and had the same issue. I tried powering it through the 30 amp outlet with an adapter and had the same problem. Unfortunately I have no idea how a 3K watt generator can't handle a 1500 watt space heater, but this generac cannot unfortunately. Pretty disappointing to say the least. I run non-ethinol fuel and make sure the oil level is good, so I'm just not sure if the governor is set too low so it can't reach a true 3000 watts or what the issue is? Back to the drawing board I guess. Would I recommend this generator now? Probably not. At first, absolutely.

Because it’s kind of an idiot proof user interface. You can’t turn the gas off, so I’m sure it floods itself regularly. If you want to check the spark plug you can’t because the sound insulation is cockeyed to the plug so you can’t get a socket on it I might have to take a knife to it, or just buy a Honda.

Purchased on Amazon and they arrived in excellent condition. Set-up was very easy and both units started on the third pull with a fresh tank of gas. I am vey pleased with the noise level of these units and they should serve their purpose during a power outage, camping or tailgating. They are an appropriate size and weight for the power output and the price was ~$800 less than the two (2) Honda units with less running wattage. The only "wish list" item would be a larger fuel capacity, but that holds true for all generators in this category.

The generator runs well and supplies our needs, though use has been limited. My confusion came from the following two areas. 1. Where manufactured I'm in Wisconsin, as are several Generac locations. I thought they were made here, but the box says made in China. That was a major reason for not purchasing from Harbor Freight. 2. Warranty I thought the warranty was 3 years full coverage - again, research, it is not. I purchased it at a reasonable sale price, so not so painful. It just felt like information was purposely unclear.

I bought two of these units for construction work but did not use them until Hurricane Ida. I used one and it's quiet and worked flawlessly. I used it for about a week nonstop. The power lasted about 8 hrs per tank full. I powered a house refrigerator, washing machine, several fans and computers. I did buy the inverter generator parallel kit to tie the two units together to supply 6000 but did not need it yet.

I bought this portable generator about a year-and-a-half ago and I start it regularly it but when it idles it runs very very rough I don't know if that's normal or not you put a load on in this moves it out but at an idle runs a very rough with new gas cuz somebody please let me know if that's normal or not thank you very much

Unit arrived in what appeared to be good condition. Followed instructions to the letter to prep and start. Generator never made any attempt to fire/start. After researching Service/repair supplier(lost two weeks of potential use), then took unit to repair shop (another 10 day delay), only to find that the fuel line was installled with a crimp in it, therefore no gas was reaching carburetor thus it would have never started. Repair was under warrantee, thank goodness. So after a month from arrival, I now have it back(yesterday) and hope to get to try out use. Size, features ( outlets(110 and USB, quietness, and form, fit, function) seem very good. Just need time to exercise use/utility. Disappointing start and significant effort for me to handle, transport, and get repaired but hopefully now in a position to get the utility I needed without more unnecessary delay. General, please review your quality control procedures so this does not happen to some other poor, unsuspecting soul!

This is a very economical generator good power with excellent fuel usage. I uses for portable power when I am traveling for work. This is one of the quietest generators I have ever had and used in the portable line. I definitely recommend this generator if anybody is looking for a small compact generator that is very easy to move and very portable. This is a replacement generator for a much more expensive generator that if I'd known this generator was as good I would have bought this generator and not had spent the $2,000 on the other generator that I am still fighting for under warranty
