I have a dog that is compulsive about eating EVERYTHING. He will pull anything out of the trash. I got this for Christmas to help deter him from getting in the trash. He can still get in it, but not nearly as often. It is also so much cleaner than any of the other trash cans I've had. It is made of metal and so it is difficult for him to tip over. As long as it isn't overly full he can not lift the top off of it either. Overall if you have trouble with a dog that gets into things this is worth the money. I also like this trash can for the lack of needing to touch it. As a nurse I am always looking for ways to decrease the amount of germ transfer in my day. This definitely keeps me from transferring germs to the lid as well as picking them up from placing something in the trash.

We really like our two 9 Stars cans. The are simple to use, battery powered, auto opening trash cans. We have not had them long enough to see how long the batteries will last. A simple movement of the hand over the top of the trash can will open it and then close it after you deposit your trash. We first bought the type that you step on a pedal at the floor and the can opens, but it wasn't long and the pedal quit working and then you had to lift the lid by hand. The one thing that I do not like about this new trash can is that it does not have an inside container as the old one did. The is a plastic ring that hold the trash sack in place. I do not know how long it will last being taken in and out 2 to 4 four times a week or more. So far it is a great trash can and we really like it.

This is my second set that I bought and I’m hoping they will last longer then the first. The first set kept eating batteries and finally just died after almost 1yr. I love the automatic lid opener, especially when your hands or full. So I’m really hopeing this set works out !

I had it for about 4 weeks and all of a sudden the lid was going up and down all night long it would not stop I e mailed the company, and they told me to take the batteries out and turn it off for 24 hrs. So I did I put the new batteries in and turned it on and it began doing the same thing. It's really a shame this is not a cheap garbage. I am very dissapointe.

There is a design flaw In the lid. The battery placement is on the bottom instead of on the inside. The heavy batteries have caused the battery cover to come off and my batteries to go in the trash. Even the old design could nit hold up to the batteries. I now have ugly duck tape holding the batteries ( which are not cheap)

I bought these trash cans last week and so far so good. They came real fast and tuey both work fine. M glad I bought. the kitchen one bc now I don't have lift the lid up anymore, just touch one button and the lid open right up. You do not smell anything once its closed. You do need batteries for both cans. He bathroom can wws too big for my small studio bathroom so i gave it away but it worked fine and i would have kept it if my was bigger. But you wont regret buying these cans.

Love it!! Fits perfectly at the end of our cabinets. Looks great with our stainless appliances. It does take a few seconds for it to open once it detects the motion, took a little bit to get use to. You can easily hide the bag and love the "open" feature when I am cooking. Still have the original batteries in and it has been several months. I didn't need the small one so I sold it on Ebay for a great price, extra bonus.

I love the hands free activated by your motion feature of these cans. Also I have a big dog that likes to miss behave sometimes and get in the trash. She can't with these cans. The slight noise of the lid function scares her. This is my second big can I dropped the lid to my old one while changing the bag and broke it ughhh. So when I went to order a new one I found this set so now I have one in my bathroom the small size was perfect. I love the stainless steel it goes along with my kitchen appliances and cleans up with the stainless cleaner I use on them as well.

We've bought this can set 8 yeas ago and it was one of the best cans I've had in my life. Batteries needed to be changed only twice in 8 years. Large can stopped working just recently (may be because kids dropped it), but the small one still working fine. Now I am shopping for new large can and I will go for the same one. It's a great product and presents great value for your money. The only inconvenience I found, it's that you can't hose down the lid to wash, because of electrical parts, have to wipe it instead.

purchased this trash can in 2018 the first year the battery lid fell in trash and so did batteries and mistakenly thrown away don't know how to get battery door replacement. The top line fell off and not working properly unsure how to get a new entire top I will never purchase this item a gain. I rather have a motion sensor trash can were battery is in back of lid not inside the lid
