I really like this trashcan for the price. Yes, sometimes its delayed or slow on 'seeing you' & the lid does not open as quickly as I would like. But since I only paid $50, I can live with the results. It could improve on the speed of recognizing your presence. Sometimes the door gets stuck in the open position & hitting the 'close' button manually is good enough for me to fix it.

Just hold something above the sensor just out of the way of the lid, and it opens after about three quarters of a second. Takes a little practice but once you get the hang of it, it works every time. Wish they had a smaller version that allows me to open the drawers behind it, and so we could clear it every day without wasting larger bags. That would also help minimize decomposing trash inside the bin. Great value as I got it on sale, paired with the soap dispenser, under forty bucks combined.

Kind of expensive for a trash and we haven't really had a place for the little trash since it is very small. I am happy with the product though. It looks great, however many people that visit have no idea how to use it and they try to grab the tiny handle and open it, it gives us a good laugh every time. The batteries seem to last forever. We got it because my son would throw his toys away in the "open" trash, now he doesn't ever throw anything away. It is pretty quiet and easy to dump. It does hold any smells in so when the lid opens it kind of blows it into the air.... all the reason to dump the trash!

Loved the product and the functionality. Kitchen trash can lasted longer than the smaller one for the bathroom. Smaller one died after replacing batteries once. Kitchen can lasted a while longer but the lid mechanism broke and there is no replacement option. Warranty is only for 30 days and it will last much longer than that. Mine finally died when the lid mechanism broke (plastic parts) but that was after several years. Replacement is more expensive now.

I bought this after I did my researched about lots of touch fee trashcans. I loved it loved and the price was good too. But theee is only one thing I wished for and that is that he menual function worked without the batteries as well. If the sensor is not working for some reason and your batteries dies the menual button to open and close the lid will not work as well. I tried it by powering off the button under the lid of the trash can. If the button is off the menual function does not work as well.

It was a splurge to pay over 70 for two trash cans, but I really love them. They block garbage odors very effectively. Takes four d cell batteries each, which is not good! Why not c batteries, which are more common and cheaper! The small one doesn't fit a garbage bag so well, and sometimes trash falls between the side of the can and the bag. But the kitchen one is top notch. Just expensive for a garbage can.

I no longer have a problem with the kids leaving their trash around. They are more than happy to take it to the can. Having this trash can makes life in the kitchen so easy because you can throw something like chicken packaging away and get right back to prepping your chicken without worrying about contaminating items or having to wash dirty trash can lids germs off your hands. The sensor is a little sensitive at times. You can be quite a bit away from it and it will open up. It really is a great product. The small can is nice to have but doesn't get used as much as my kitchen trash can.

I got 2 automatic stainless steel trash cans. The larger one's sensor is not that good, it takes multiple tries to have it sense some motion and then it lands up hitting my hands. It takes long to open up even after sensing. I usually just leave it open. The smaller one is great. Very accurate and quick. Overall I am happy for what I got considering the price.

I just received my NINESTARS auto trash can and can't find anyway to attach the power cord I purchased to go with the unit so I wouldn't have to worry about battery life. The add said if I bought the two together I could save about $5.00. I decided the add was wrong and went looking for a model that uses the power cord. I found six models and none are the DZT-50-13 I ordered, and none say anything about a power cord. I did see in the question section that someone wanted to know if anyone bought the adapter. I tried to comment and wasn't logged in. Now that I am logged in I cant find that comment. I would recommend the trash container to a friend, but not the power cord. What a pain and another hour wasted.

I love, love, love this product! Not only do I not have to "touch" anything germy....my 110 pound black lab cant flip the lid and go dumpster diving for a snack! Ha! Its been a fabulous addition to my home...going to buy these for wedding gifts! Friends and family will love me for it :-)
