I hate open trash in my house so the automatic lid is great. The manual tops I had before would either be removed, left open or thrown away accidently with the trash. The trash can also fascinates my grandkids so they throw their trash away just to see it work.

I've bought this pair of trash cans in January 2014. So far so good. Lid will stay open as long it detects movement. No trash problem from my pet anymore, my German Shepperd has not been able to open it, Hurray. It's funny when people ask you how you open it. Great conversation piece with lots of laughs about it.

These work great and are so convenient! However, I was extremely displeased with the packaging as we received the larger can with a large dent in the side. Having recently moved and been under a lot of stress, i was gong to simple return the cans to Walmart and say, "forget it." However, my fiance pushed the dent out so it's now hardly noticeable. The cans work great. We use the larger in our kitchen and the smaller in our bathroom. I like them because our dog cannot help herslef to the trash and who can complain about hands free....

Ordered this 2-item set from Walmart online. It arrived in a timely manner. The small trash can works great, but the large trash can sensor never worked. I can manually press the Open/Close buttons and that works but not the automatic lid sensor. No matter how many times I swipe my hand over the sensor, it never worked. I called Nine Stars customer service. They said to turn the On/Off switch to Off and remove the batteries for 24 hours. I asked why for 24 hours (seems strange to me for a reboot) and the rep couldn't answer why. At any rate, I did exactly as she said and the sensor still doesn't work. I am taking this back to Walmart this weekend. Very disappointing and a waste of my time. Maybe I just had the bad luck to get a bad set.

We bought the set last year and love them. It is great when you have your hands full to just be able to waive your hand above the lid and poof the lid opens. They look great in stainless steel and the batteries last a long time. I would definitely recommend these to everyone.

I purchased this exact set before from the same company and absolutely LOVE it. The first set was in the kitchen and the guest bath. Now that I have moved, I gave my old large can to my daughter and put the little one in my new guest bathroom. I bought this set so I have a new kitchen can and the little one is now in my new bath room. The original set is about 2 years old. The little can still has the original batteries in it and is showing no signs of dying anytime soon. With the large can the battery door fell off one day and wound up going out with the trash by accident. I do not think it was a malfunction of the product, it was most likely my son messing around with it. If I thought the can was faulty I would not have bought a second set. I am very pleased with this set.

Was really excited about this trash can set. Upon unboxing we found a really great looking trash can, but then inserted the batteries to find the motion sensor DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. We have tried all kinds of movement, taken the batteries out. Nothing. Works just fine when pressing the open close buttons but not why we bought this. Again, it’s gorgeous but we will probably move on to a different brand once we get this all returned.

I gave this a 3 star instead of a 1 because it is partially my fault that I don’t like this product. It does not have a bucket it is only the stainless steel and you drop a bag in there and it has a little guard going around the top to hopefully hold it in place. I thought about sending it back but I didn’t want to full with the return process. I am going to keep an eye on it but my fear is dropping wet stuff in the trash (uneaten plate of spaghetti) and it dripping out of the bottom of the bag and messing the can up. I have had this happen before with the plastic trashcans so I know what I am talking about, just don’t know if it will come across right

We needed this for an event and it arrived just a day before so we didn't really look it over or test it. A few days later I can say it only works intermittently and it arrived with surface scratches on the top which affected how nice it looked. The most annoying part is it may or may not open when it should. We'll probably return and try another.

This product looks very nice and I was lucky to get it at a really good price. There are 2 different battery sizes. The big trash can takes "C" batteries and the small trash can takes "D" batteries. I hope that the batteries will last because it could get pricey if it doesnt.
