The auto-closing lid would not respond, it will NOT open or close (the small can) Bertha, Customer Service at Nine Stars said, "Take out the batteries for a minimum of 24 hours, no less, and then try again." I did the three, it still will not work Bertha C/S said have 2 options. 1.) You can send in the product for a replacement -- AT YOUR EXPENSE FOR SHIPPING 2.) You can return it to the vendor and either get a refund or order a replacement. POOR.... product, that this product, and the company's return policy is literally GARBAGE. DON''T BUT IT.....

We have had this can for over TWO years. We replaced the batteries only once and it certainly isn't dented. It works well and has held up well. I would caution you, NOT to submerge the top to clean it. That's what I did yesterday. But we love it so much we're replacing it. It was my bad it was destroyed. I'll be more careful with the new one.

My daughter wanted a new trash can for her kitchen. She ended up getting three of them for Christmas. She took the other two back because she likes the motion detection on these. She has seen these because we have had one that we received about three years ago. We could not find one at any other stores.

When compared to other no-touch trash cans I have researched and/or purchased, this one is not only larger but comes at a lower price then the ones I have had experience with. When you add in the fact that it also comes with a small one there is no better value out there.

Super pleased with this purchase and the quality is awesome. I've been pricing stainless steel trash cans for awhile and this Ninestar product is by far the best I've found. The small trash can which is also automatic is just as a nice as the larger one. You'll need 3 C and 2 D batteries for the trash cans. For the price it's like getting the small one for free and it came with 7 13 gallon trash bags which are Way better than I imagined.

Was great at first and within a few months now opens and shuts on it's own every 5 seconds! This is inferorating seeing how it was the most expensive garbage can we have ever bought. We are very disappointe. We have turned it off and on, changed batteries and nothing is working to fix it so now we have a regular garbage can with no lid. We were very excited about this purchase and now highly disappointed.

Love the stainless still but what stood out the most was the fact that I was able to get the combo. I needed a large one for my nursery and a small one for my bathroom. I gave up the diaper genie and purchased this large stainless steel trash can hoping it would mask the smell pretty well with using my regular garbage bags that I use in my kitchen trash can. It's working very well so far so good however if there is a poopy diaper and there I only smell it once the lid has been opened as long as the lid remains closed everything is all good so normally when I change a diaper I will throw it away as soon as I'm getting redy to exit the room. I never smell anything unless the lid gets opened it's very nice that there is a sensor and I only open the lid when I need to.

This trash can set is a must have! I was able to purchase this item on sale about 7 months ago and love it. The large trash can is perfect for the kitchen and we use the small one for the powder room. Everyone that uses the trash cans always ask where we got them from and how can they get them. The batteries have been going strong for 7 months now and have not needed to replace them. The build quality of the cans are great. They wipe down extremely easy and the stainless steal finish looks terrific. Because there is nothing to push, pull, kick, step on, etc to open the lids, the sanitation aspect alone is above anything else. I promise you will not be disappointed if you make this purchase. I would definitely recommend (and I do to everyone) buying this product.

I JUST BOUGHT THESE TWO COMBO SET AND I WAS SO EXCITED TO HAVING THESE FOR MY KIDS USE AND FOR ME AND MY HUSBAND. I PUT IN NEW BATTERIES-- THREE Cs BATTERIES FOR THE BIG CAN. IN A WEEK AND HALF IT STARTED TO NOT RESPOND TO OPENING... YESERDAY I CHANGED 3 NEW BATTERIES... WHEN I WOKE UP TODAY TO GET READY FOR WORK.. THE CAN WAS OPEN AND DIDNT CLOSE AND WASNT RESPONDING..... I THEREFORE CHANGED THE BATTERIES AGAIN BUT THIS TIME I PUT ENERGIZER RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES... SO HOPEFULLY IT WILL BE OKAY THE LITTLE ONE I USE IN THE BEDROOM INSTEAD OF THE BATHROOM- DUE TO READING OTHER COMMENTS- ABOUT GETTING WATER ONTO IT WILL NOT RESPOND PROPERLY SO THEREFORE I PUT IT IN THE BEDROOM SINCE I HAVE A 7 MONTH BABY AND CHANGING THE DIAPER WILL BE EASIER FOR ME TO THROW OUT RIGHT AWAY... THE LITTLE CAN IS OKAY AND I DONT HAVE MUCH PROBLEM WITH IT.. OVERALL, I HAVE THE TWO CANS FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS AND I CANNT BELIEVE THE BIG ONE IS GIVING PROBLEMS... BUT I CAN SEE WHY DUE TO THAT IT USING UP TOO MUCH BATTERY LIFE... AND ESPECIALLY IT'S 3 BATTERIES USING NOT TWO.. IT WAS A DECENT PRICE FOR IT... HOPEFULLY IT WILL MAINTAIN GOOD BATTERY LIFE SINCE I AM USING THE STRONGER RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES INSTEAD OF PANASONIC BATTERIES. I WILL WRITE AGAIN IF POSSIBLE TO GIVE YOU MORE UPDATE AFTER I CALL THE COMPANY TO SEE IF I CAN GET AN REPLACEMENT.. SINCE THIS IS UNDER WARRANTY

I bought these 6 months ago for my apartment - the large one is perfect size for kitchen and smaller for the bathroom. Both are still in great working condition!!! They seem to be quite energy-efficient too because I haven't needed to replace the batteries yet. I would recommend for anyone!! They are very nice quality and look much more expensive than they are... so that can be our little secret... You're welcome!!
