I had got this item last year and love it. So I ordered one for a Christmas gift this year for my Niece and before I received my order, I received an add that if it was on sale for $20.00 less and per details of email unable to get a price match of my purchase.

We decided to purchase an automated lid type of trash can to encourage our boys to throw thier trash away. It has worked great for over two years. About 6-9 months after purchasing the battery compartment started to "sag" The only draw back is the battery compartment wihich takes the heavy batteries is located inside the top and upside down. This cause gravity to pull down on the compartment. Not annoying enough to downgrade the stars though. When we had enough, we simply reordered. Price has remained the same actually. Even better!

Fits perfectly in my kitchen. Prevents me having to touch garbage can lid to dispose of trash. Streamlined appearance adds modern look to kitchen. Love it. Smaller can is in operation in the master bath. No need to look at items previously discarded.

I have this Trash Can Combo Set in my primary residence for about 7 years. Had to change batteries only once. I couldn't be without them in my winter residence so I purchased another set. Always clean, no smell, no touching cans or cabinet doors to discard your garbage. I love them! They are also elegant in the kitchen and bathroom.

I bought this item and am very unhappy with the location and design of the battery holder and the cover. The cover clips in and is loose, the batteries fall out of the springs so that it doesn’t work. Last night the cover and batteries fell off, unbeknownst to me, into the trash bag. The trash went to the curb and now we don’t have the cover or the brand new batteries. Very poor design. While it would be a bit of a pain, a better design would be to have the battery cover secured with screws. The motion sensor no longer works without the battery cover to hold the batteries in which makes the can useless.

Well thought out design in general for day to day kitchen use. Wide automatic lid that opens quickly and is generous enough in dimension to easily to put in most trash including cereal boxes and one gallon milk plastics. The voluminous stainless container is large and oval shaped that allows the tall size kitchen bag inserts to open fully so you can fill it up completely and slide it out easily when full. We have had several other similar containers and the metal does feel a bit lighter for the size can but so far no issues (and the reason for only four stars). So far our favorite of all for our family of four and would definitely recommend.

I bought this for my work, The cans seem durable. the only issue I have is that the small can takes "D" batteries and the large can takes "C" batteries. It took over a week for site to store shipment, I went in the store and on the shelf was what I had ordered.

It was a great deal to get this set for the price. They both hold so much and I haven't left any fingerprints on the cans. I have only had them for a week, but they work well. I just have to make sure the toilet paper is rolled up since it can cause my smaller can to open in the bathroom. They look so elegant, the best upgrade from my plastic cans.

These two trash bins look great and are working well so far, but I've only had them for a week. I was worried that the large one would open every time anyone walks by, but that doesn't happen. I read one review that says the bins need to be in bright light to work properly, but I haven't had that problem. I gave 'durability' an average rating only because I haven't had enough time to see how well these work in the long run.

Have had one similar before. Like that the big can is more circular than square and has a wider opening. The only thing to improve upon would be to make the overlap of the actual lid deeper for a more snug fit because it feels like the lid is just sitting on it.
