The iGen 2500 was purchase two months ago. My RV is equipped with a 15000 BTU air conditioner with soft start that will draw 13-14 amps on compressor start up. With the iGen 2500 set on efficiency mode it will only operate the air conditioner fan. When the compressor starts, the iGen2500 disconnects the load, and then must be shut down to be reset. The manual states on page 16 under Using Efficiency Mode, "Efficiency mode should be used only after the inverter has been warmed up to operating temperature." And then states, "As a load is applied, the inverter will sense the load and engine RPM will increase according to the load applied. The second statement is not true. If the iGen 2500 will only operate a air conditioner at maximum power and speed, then it has an "efficiency mode" that is useless.

I bought this as a backup for house as well as camping. It started on first pull and continues to start easily. It is louder than I was hoping, too much so for camping near others. "Super quiet" as stated is not as quiet as I expected. However, I would definitely buy again.

I bought this a Sam’s club and really didn’t know of this make. I was looking for an inverter, and this one had the most running watts of a 2500 model. I will use this with my camping trailer along with a second one I purchased. I will run them in parallel with the cables I purchased separately. It is very well made and a solid unit with great features, and a three year warranty to top it off.

Our iGen2500 generator didn't work straight out of the box, when pouring gasoline in it poured out the bottom, so I'm guessing its missing some pieces. My husband called Westinghouse Customer Supp, they were super helpful and very responsive, so I feel 100% sure that our unit will be replaced.

Bought two IGEN 2500s and the parallel connector to use with my RV and run 30 Amp electric to the RV. Put in oil (oil filler tube is great as it ensures “no spill” by screwing into the oil fill), put in gas, pulled three times and they started. What more can you ask?

Bought this generator for specific reasons. Using it to run window air conditioner or space heater in the home and the air conditioner on my RV if we were to lose power. Can handle everything I've plugged in and then some. Extremely happy with purchase and recommend for anyone looking for emergency power. Plus it's light and can be hand carried.

Dear Westinghouse: Due to the proliferation of bad weather we've had in Louisiana this year, I decided to purchase a generator large enough to run our freezer and refrigerator in case our electricity went off. The iGen 2500 seemed to be the perfect choice for us, since it is small, easily handled by two senior adults, and would fit our needs. A generator is a major purchase for us. It took hours of watching YouTube videos to choose the best generator to fit our needs. We followed the instructions exactly as stated in the manual and the generator will be well taken care of for its lifetime. We were delighted to discover that, if we left a review, we would qualify for a generator cover. So, I immediately complied, but quickly discovered the cover was not available. This is a great disappointment because we are on an extremely limited budget. It seems to me that a company who is concerned about their reputation would be sure to produce as many covers as they produce the "Congratulations!" for free cover cards they place inside the box, or to stop shipping the generators with those cards. If the card had not been in the box, we would not have a sour taste about an unfulfilled promise. At this point, we have run the generator for several hours to break it in and have experimented with several different configurations. We like it and we think it will suit us very well. Sarah H.

Unfortunately, the first order arrived with a cracked/broken part and the second had a torn bag of silica gel beads that had found their way inside the cavity of the unit and we couldn’t get them out. Now that we have received our third unit, we are happy with it. Runs quiet and we are looking forward to using with our camper.

Got instant savings at sc making it worth it. Using for running some appliance and electronics during sporadic power outages And as a tailgate generator to run tv stereo charge electronics and a number of small cooking appliances. Just realize that at the full 2500 and 15 amps you will need some heavy duty ($$$) extension cords especially if you need more than 50 feet. Also suggest buying a quart of full syn oil that will max your operating temp range. Too soon to have anything to say about longevity and reliability

I always wanted to have a second generator for convenience because living in the mountains we get frequent power outages. The iGen2500 started right up out of the box. It's quiet and relatively lightweight. Good to have during a camping trip or a day out on the water in a boat.
