Living in wild fire country, power is not as reliable. This generator was easy enough to setup. The instructions are accurate and helpful, except for the choke operation is backwards. Starts easily with correct choke. We have not truly tested with a large load, but I expect good performance.

Perfect size for backup power thru a 30 amp transfer switch, or to power an RV with one AC unit. I purposely chose the pull start version for simplicity, its very easy to pull start. Also love that I can safely switch fuel from gasoline to propane while its running.

I purchased the Dual Fuel 5300 yesterday. i assembled it (easy assembly) and started it today. Tried the propane first, didn't start right away. Tried gasoline, started second pull. I ran upright freezer and electric drill (just to test the generator). Everything worked great. Turned off the generator and restarted with propane and everything worked fine. Very satisfied thus far.

Just recieved it and was pleased with the unit. Assembly was simple instruction booklet is thick and answers basically anything. Quite happy it comes with oil and a tool kit included and the handle is built in as I wasn't sure it would have one at all based of images. Def heavier than I expected since I've only ever used smaller units but the wheel kit helps with that immensely.

This generator was extremely simple to setup and to get running even for a 75 year old. Pull start is the only thing keeping this from a 5 star, however the pull to start is buttery smooth out of the box. Cannot wait to run this through the gauntlet this summer with my trailer camper on trips with the grandkids!

It’s great that the electric start works so well! I injured my shoulder and pull starting my generator did not help! After 20 min of barely being able to turn my generator over, I went inside and shopped for a new generator that had electric start! I found the Westinghouse 5300 dual fuel was the perfect fit for my power needs for my home! Out of the box followed the instructions and I had power to service my home needs! Purchased the wheel set and makes it easy to take out of storage and wheel outside! Also great value for what I needed!

First time generator purchaser. Overall, pleased with the durability and it's compact enough to store in our garage until it's needed. Easy to move around with the sturdy handle and the heavy duty wheels...even the wife can operate this piece of life saving machinery! Has all the features we were looking for and some additional ones like the switches with covers and the cool looking blue on black. Westinghouse is a trusted name so I know we did not go wrong.

I recently got this generator and gave it a test run before the big snow storm. It was sitting in below 0 temps and fired right up after a couple pulls. I didn’t lose power so it was never put in use but everything seems great. Hope I never need to use it but I’ll be glad to have it when I do. Everyone should have one of these for their home.

I purchased this Westinghouse WGen5300DFcv generator after our power was out for four days due to a wind storm. I opted for an interlock setup over a transfer switch. Knowing this 5300 watt generator will not be able to power the entire house as with normal grid power, I turn off the circuit breakers which carry a high load. The only high-load breaker that remains on is the kitchen range and we only use one burner at a time. Works great in an emergency. I installed a slow start on my A/C unit and the air conditioner runs perfectly on this WGen5300DFcv generator. What really impressed me through my trial runs with this generator were the low engine RPM, how quiet it is, and how little fuel it uses. Speaking of fuel, I highly recommend running the engine on gasoline and switch over to propane while it is running. Just turn off the fuel shutoff and select propane. It is very difficult to start straight off propane. I’m very happy with my backup generator setup and highly recommend this generator.

I am 70 years old. it's hard for me to start it on gasoline setting. I was able to start it when I switched to propane. I switched back to gasoline easily. I used it to run my propane furnace when the power went out for 3 hours. I also ran the starlink internet system and a 75" smart 4k Oled TV. I was actually so proud of myself. I live alone and I was able to accomplish all this with no one's help. I gave it a 4 start rating only because I had a good hard time with the pull cord.
