Westinghouse Generator Dual fuel, model WGen5300DFv. Received November 7, 2020 Took photos all sides before unboxing. Noticed no damage. Assembled the generator per instructions. Went great, tools provided. Levered stationery end up, rolled into my basement. Another possibility of a storm, so I need to do the break-in run. Filled with correct oil and quantity, funnel provided. Added gasoline. Ready to run. Opened fuel valve, verified gasoline not propane, ON, 120V, choke on, started on first pull. Let it warm a bit. Turning choke off. Walking around looking noticed air filter latch loose, not camed-over tight. I tried latching it a couple times only to discover the latch was broken. The rivet was bent in the middle and not long enough to go through the lever where it pivots from. Pulled the rivet down to see if I could straighten it. I was disappointed, don’t know if I can get a replacement latch and rivet. I am satisfied with the cranking, displays power, reasonable quite, like my push lawn mower. I checked it out with some lights and a circular saw. Didn’t phase the governor. So we have enough for emergency power needs. I have a much smaller generator and it would support a freezer and refrigerator, nothing else. We need more than that for colder weather.

We just purchased the 5300DFcv portable generator today so we haven't had a chance to use it yet. We purchased based on previous positive experiences with Westinghouse products as well as customer reviews. We'll do a test run tomorrow. Hopefully all goes well!

We lost most of our home in a house fire but the generator allowed us to save the food we had in freezers for many days until our electricity could be restored. The generator is a real trooper. it was easy to put together and easy to start. We love how easy it is to move around.

We decided to purchase a new generator after ours died a few years ago. Our house is a single power line feed with its own transformer so if we lose power in a big storm we are low on the list for repair. The generator is just what we wanted. Prices very competitive for the power output and features. Minimal assembly for wheels and stabilizer feet. Filled it with oil and gas for a test run and everything worked great. I plan to install a home transfer switch and feed select appliances and outlets in the house.

I bought two of these generators due to the great reviews. I am very pleased with the generators. I especially like the dual fuel capacity, which is one of the main reasons for my purchase. After unpacking and adding oil and fuel, they both started with the first pull. All the specs for output were right on the money. They seem very well built and run great.I am very pleased with this purchase. Thanks to Westinghouse for such a great product. I highly recommend them.

Just purchased the 5300DFcv Dual fuel generator. It is very easy to setup. Comparing with another inverter generator that I have, this generator has all controls at easy access locations, It is easy to fill/remove the engine oil. Also it is very easy to drain the gas when put generator in long term storage. One of the reason that I purchased this item is that it can use BOTH gas and propane tank. It provides some redundancy. To use the generator for a short time, propane tank is very easy to hook up, and disconnect after use. You do not need to worry about draining the fuel when using gas. Using gas provide more power and is more suitable for power outage for an extended time.

Bought my generator three days ago it was easy to put together in less than 10 minutes fired it up with propane let it run for a short time with a small load of 2000 watts. I was impressed at how quiet it was and very little noise level change after hooking up small appliances to test. Right now without long-term usage I would recommend this generator with confidence

Started up on the first pull. It even came with oil! Unlike another product a friend of mine purchased. He had to go to three different stores to find the oil he needed. Easy to assemble (just attach the wheels and supports). Unit runs pretty loud. Handle makes it very easy to maneuver.

Living in Texas I've experienced 48 days of 100+ degree summers, and 2 consecutive winters with weeks of sub-freezing weather. In 2021 we lost power for 6 days in 8-10 degree cold. I won't face those conditions again without a power source, and this one checks all the boxes! no more freezing days or sweltering nights for my family!

We used this generator for a day when we lost power at the RV park during the hottest time in summer. We were able to run the AC without a hitch. Currently we're in another power outage but this time in the freak winter storm all of Texas seems to be experiencing. The RV is staying warm and toasty with this generator. It is a bit on the loud side but we knew that when purchasing. The only criticism would be the wheels are too soft. Other than that we are happy we chose this generator over other options.
