Just bought

I’ve yet to use this. I’ve been wanting to buy this for awhile but never got around to it. Hurricane Milton was coming and Sam’s was sold out. After the storm and loss of power I finally got it. We will have to wait until the next storm to actually use it. It seems to be well built all parts were in the box and it doesn’t seem damaged from shipping.

Quiet and versatile!

I purchased this unit a few weeks ago as hurricane season is approaching. It was delivered in a timely manner. Instructions and manuals were very easy to read and understand. Everything is included that is needed to run the unit on gas or propane, minus the fuel. Very pleased with the product.

Great price and easy to use!

I got this as a backup for increasingly frequent power outages. If you follow the instruction manual closely you'll be up and running pretty quickly. This is my first portable generator and I'm very pleased at how easy it is to start and use. I plugged a few different things of various loads and it was able to handle them with no issues. If you're not familiar with generators, definitely take the time to read the manual--you'll be glad you did. :)

Easy setup and operation – hope I never "need" it!

I picked this up to backup my house when the power goes out and will be wiring it directly into my break box (appropriately). The setup was easy and I like the towing handle and wheels. Firing up the propane in the cold was somewhat problematic but I think it might've also just been first-time firing issues. All good in today's tests in more temperate weather.

WGen5300DFV

I bought the Westinghouse WGen 5300DFv about a month ago. The item arrive on time, and packaging was good nothing was damage when I unpacked it, assembling & operation instructions was easy, ran it on propane and gasoline, both works well. I live in Austin, Texas. If there's another ice storm or black out I know I'm well prepared.

Great product

Easy start, quieter than expected, handle system makes moving it easy, changing fuel source is simple with the dual fuel selector. Tested the generator through the electrical panel for the house. It easily ran all we need should we be without power again this winter. We’re ready.

Great Features

We bought this dual fuel 5300 generator due to the instability of out Texas grid in our location. Easy assembly of wheels and legs. Conveyance of using gas or butane. Remember if there is a power outage in your area more than likely the gas stations are out of power too. So you need option to feed your generator. This one gives you those options. Compact and powerful. Started right up on 2nd pull.

Great generator. Smooth start and super quiet!

Great price for a feature packed generator! I don't even miss the electric start. Without an expensive ATS and a trickle charger being on your SLA battery 24x7, an electirc start gen is a waste of money! Love it! Westinghouse is an American company stooped deep in innovative history.

Everything as advertised

I bought this generator after a recent power outage as insurance against future power outages. It's as advertised and feature rich. It's heavier than I thought but the wheels and stand make it easy to move once installed. I bought the dual fuel after speaking with a neighbor who has gas only that said he wishes he bought the dual fuel.

Seems Good Overall

Bout this a month ago, product was shipped to my house. Product box was heavy, so heavy in fact that the postal delivery service just chunked it in the driveway. Despite damage to the box, the generator itself was pretty sturdy, and unpacking proved that no real damage to the unit occurred. I added fuel to it, started it up per instruction and it was humming in no time. Tested the poweroutput which was stable and what I bargained for. Haven't tried the propane feature, but it comes with the hook up for it, so pretty much all you need is the tank of propane. It uses normal 4 cycle 10W30 oil, a whole can of it. It looks well built and sturdy, has a handle for ease of use to tote around. My only complaint is it does not have a GFCI switch on the 120V plugs, this would have been an added selling point for this model and would have been icing on the cake. Sadly, only other way more expensive models had them, so boo. Other than that it seems to be working as intended.
