Customer reviews for LG 3.1.3 Home Theater Sound Bar with IMAX Enhanced & Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, Includes an Exclusive Bracket, Stand or Mount Compatible forIs the WOW Bracket enough?
I’ve had the LG Soundbar SC9 a few weeks. I’ve been fighting the urge to send it back since. It’s not awful, but don’t believe the hype. I’ve probably been spoilt by my other soundbar. By comparison, the LG Soundbar SC9 sounds tinny, lacks definition – especially with dialogue – and is inconsistent when switching streaming service apps. I was eager to try the soundbar as I have a 55" LG C2, and the SC9 (offering the WOW Bracket, WOW Orchestra, and the WOW Interface) seemed like the perfect match. As it goes, the WOW Bracket is a perfect mounting solution. I don’t know why all manufacturers don’t implement similar. It’s raises the TV higher than I expected (for clearance of the TV’s infra-red receiver), but that’s not an issue, and together they stand well on a cabinet. I intend to wall-mount the combo, so the bracket will likely prove invaluable. When it comes to WOW Orchestra, I feel it often doesn’t sound as good as just the soundbar by itself. The AI Sound Pro sound profile is also hit-and-miss, and I often choose the Standard or Bass Boost sound profiles. Speaking of bass… Whilst the highs and mid-tones can be a bit shrill, the bass is quietly unassuming. There have been times when I’ve forgotten about it, only to be surprised by some thunderous sound effects. The speaker module itself is a good size. Just about right to be inconspicuous. I feel the WOW Interface is a gimmick. It’s not readily accessible and provides little meaningful control. The same goes for the remote control. I much prefer using the TV remote for day-to-day sound profile changes, and then use the app for finessing settings. As for the audio feedback when switching sound profiles, it can be grating and is best left alone. AI Room Calibration Pro made a minor difference. Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and IMAX Enhanced content, and the received audio, haven’t impressed me at all. I end up using the app to lessen the impact of the Triple Up-firing Channels and Tiple Level Spatial Sound. I have just found it all too distracting when trying to consume and appreciate content. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend the soundbar. When tinkered with it can be decent, but it really shouldn’t be such a chore. For the suggested retail price, I know there are far better alternatives, as I have one. But, if you can wait to get this on a significant discount and don’t mind tinkering with the settings during consumption, the potential sound that can be achieved is ok. The WOW Bracket is the main saving grace.

Well made, easy to set up and fantastic performanc
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] From the moment you receive the delivery to hitting the first song or movie, you’re impressed with the quality. The item was packed well, although a one-page ‘quick start’ on top would have been nice. That said, its as easy as plugging in and connecting an HDMI cable to get up and running. The device pairs so nicely with an LG tv – automatically pairs the remote control so the soundbar and TV remotes are interchangeable. The subwoofer automatically paired with the sound bar. It really was an absolute doddle to get up and running. And then there’s the performance. I was previously really impressed with the sound quality of the speakers on my LG OLED tv but now, having added the sound bar, I could never go back. The depth of sound, the bass and the richness of audio is incredible. TV and Films suddenly come to life and music is just immersive – to the point I’ve stopped using my smart speaker for music and play it though the Sound bar now. I don’t have the tv wall mounted, so had to change over the TV stand to accommodate the sound bar – this was a really nice touch and looks fantastic. Really ties the unit together and looks very slick indeed. Toi date I’ve only used the Soundbar with the TV and connected to my phone via Bluetooth. I believe it also has integration with Spotify and generic Wifi capabilities which are nice touches I need to check out. All in all, first impressions are overwhelmingly positive. Well made, easy to set up and fantastic performance.
Fantastic sound
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this soundbar for the past few weeks and have really enjoyed it. The sound is fantastic for movies and music. You really get the full impact of every sound. My one gripe is that it doesn’t always automatically pair with my lg tv. Which can be a bit annoying. When it does pair automatically it seems to take a long time. My last soundbar paired while my tv was still warming up. Other than that one small issue I am really impressed with the quality of everything else.
Solid soundbar
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A great complement to our new LG OLED. Super easy to set up and install.. The wireless components mean there is very little mess and clutter, which also contributes to the sleek and high-end overall look that the system exudes. My LG TV immediately detected the sound bar and I was thrilled to start to hear the quality of the sound that filled the room. The volume is great, the sound crisp, and the bass coming out of the wireless subwoofer really adds to the depth and overall experience. This is an excellent product if you are really looking to enhance your overall television experience. It handles movies, music, sport, podcasts, and games all equally well.
THE SC9 does have a bracket for their 83" OLED
It is a great sound bar but it does have a bracket that fits the 83" or larger OLED's. In fact LG confirmed they do not make one yet. So if you are buying an 83" OLED you either buy a different brand or you make due with it sitting on a separate shelf and not attached to the TV

Fantastic Sound!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had the LG SC9S for around a week now and I’ve been putting it through it’s paces. Starting from the beginning, it arrived in quite a large box! There was a fair amount of excess cardboard in there to take up a lot of empty space around the various brackets included. Inside the box was the soundbar itself, the remote, the subwoofer, a replacement stand for your LG OLED with a flat base and extra height to ensure it stands above the soundbar, a wall mounting bracket for the soundbar, and two spacers. The soundbar itself is beautiful. It’s relatively compact with a smooth top minus one round grill for the center, up-firing speaker. There are control buttons on the top-back of the soundbar. The included brackets are relatively plain and functional. The remote is of the typical, tapered LG style and is of cheap plastic. I’d like something a little nicer with a soundbar in this price range but it gets the job done. As I currently have an LG C3 OLED, set up was a breeze. Plugging into the eARC port it was picked up automatically and just worked. The TV controls the volume so apart from setup and balance/mode adjustments I don’t need to touch the soundbar remote itself. Downloading the LG Soundbar app will also allow you to adjust these settings from the app. The soundbar visual interface consists of three lights in the front-center that change based on your input. Switching between modes triggers feedback via a pleasant voice. There is no visual settings mode and the included instructions are quite sparse. Luckily it’s fairly straight forward and I was done within a few minutes and didn’t’ have to look back. The sound output from this sound bar is really fantastic. After trying out the various modes I think Standard works the best for me with all “speakers” set to the default and bass/woofer turned up to max. You get loud, clear mids and highs and super punchy base from the relatively compact subwoofer. I’ve watched quite a few movies and shows over the last week and I’m extremely happy with this soundbar and how it integrates with my OLED. Highly recommend!
Super Soundbar
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband recently installed the LG Soundbar SC9 on our LG TV. I was expecting it to be much larger but I was pleased to see it was a sleek and complimentary design that didn’t dominate the TV wall. There’s a definite marked improvement in the sound we receive since we’ve installed it. Really impressed with the clear, enhanced sound we now get from the soundbar. I especially noticed it when we’ve watched films in the evenings but my kids have also enjoyed the superior sound for all their cartoons too. Would definitely recommend as a great upgrade gor all the family.
Excellent sound and great features
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this soundbar as it integrates seamlessly with my C series TV, providing excellent and immersive sound quality for a 3.1.3 channel system. The audio is crisp, filling the room with rich detail, and it performs exceptionally well for movies and music. Spotify Connect and AirPlay are particularly useful, making it versatile as a standalone speaker. The build quality is robust, and its sleek design complements the TV setup. While the app could use some improvements, overall, I'm very pleased with how well it works.
Best sound bar none
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the soundbar to complement the LG C3 OLED TV I purchased last year. I've been very happy with the soundbar so far. The TV sound with AI optimisation was pretty good anyway, but now I have the soundbar it's further optimised my viewing experience, especially when watching sports and films. The fact that the soundbar neatly integrates into the TV stand was a definite plus point. Cables are hidden away tidily. I suppose the only downside is that if I add anything to my setup I'll have to lay the TV down again and remove screws to gain easy access to the ports. The soundbar was well packaged, and in spite of a small dent in the cardboard during delivery the contents were well protected. I needed a rather large space to lay everything out. I wasn't expecting the box to be quite so big! The sub and soundbar have a contemporary design and are almost a gunmetal colour. I got a bit frustrated during setup trying to follow the diagram which wasn't at all clear. It showed four cables, but only came with 3 (2 power, 1 HDMI), but once I spotted I'd missed a QR code to a video setup that made things a whole lot easier. Having said that, I am still not sure if I used the power leads correctly. I went for the longer cable on the sub and the shorter one on the TV. Once I'd got the cabling sorted I downloaded the LG Soundbar App so I could play with the configuration. I also went off to hunt connecting to TV videos as that wasn't super clear. All in all I think there should be a playlist of setup videos to make it simpler. Unboxing/connecting, configuring with the TV, getting the most out of the soundbar. I hadn't really considered the benefits of using the soundbar as another speaker in the room so that was a pleasant realisation. I connected via Bluetooth and sampled top volume. Plus points: Incredible sound Great design AI Pro optimisation feature Negatives: Set up instructions are unclear To summarise I am very happy with my purchase. It integrates amazingly well with my TV and provides great sound no matter what you're watching on the TV.
Sound to blow you away
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So, the huge box arrived, it was very well packed and the vast majority of the packaging could be recycled (top points there LG). I've only had the soundbar about a week and have been playing around with it constantly, much to the annoyance of my flatmates. I removed my old soundbar and plugged in the new one and was instantly impressed. I've only got an A-class LG OLED, so found out it wouldn't attach directly to my model, not a problem, I just attached the new bracket to the wall. My TV found it straight away and that's when the fun started trying to work out all the settings. I think I've discovered HDMI is probably the best (Bluetooth and Optical are also available). There are various settings available either through the soundbar itself or through the settings on your tv. Something I discovered a little later was the LG Soundbar App, which is amazing! It made life so much easier. I went further into the settings to discover what else it could do and realised that I had to connect it to my Google Home. Something else that's really impressive is the AI sound setting it sets up the sound to the best available for the source available. I have various inputs going into my telly which range from a BT Freeview Box to a 4K Firestick. I've also viewed programmes/movies using Dolby Vision on it, which is a whole different experience, and during an action scene I was literally blown away (I was half expecting the neighbours to come knocking on my door). I know I don't have a C-Class, but you know what you don't really need one, the tv can also use multiple speakers including the tv AND soundbar which is great. Would I recommend it? Absolutely, especially if you've got an LG OLED, it brings a whole different dimension to the experience. Good points - the sound is great, very clear and handles various sources with ease Bad points - I think it could be a little clearer about the app on the set-up instructions, once you've found that out, life is so much easier.
