Customer reviews for LG 3.1.3 Home Theater Sound Bar with IMAX Enhanced & Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, Includes an Exclusive Bracket, Stand or Mount Compatible forSeems to work well
We purchased this sound bar because it was supposed to be the best one to match with our new LG OLED TV. We are new to streaming services and are still learning some of the ins and outs. For some reason, sound just disappears randomly when watching TV. We have not isolated the sound disappearance to the internet, TV, Streaming device of the Sound Bar.
Immersive sound
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I honestly never realised how much I needed this sound bar system until now. The sound and bass is so impressive and sound clear; the television speaker was amazing in my opinion but the sound bar system has completely changed everything. I have a TV that is compatible with this sound bar system and I absolutely love the fact that you can connect it directly to the bottom of your TV easily and securely. This is great for space saving and also saves you from having to fit a shelf to your wall if you don't already have one. The Subwoofer isn't huge which is ideal but do not let it's size fool you. The bass is extraordinary! Overall I am completely inlove with this purchase not only for the sound and it's elegant look but for it's ease of use. The connects to the TV through either optical or hdmi and the Subwoofer connects directly to the sound bar (wireless). You can alter the sound you want for example cinema, music through the TV.
Wonderful sound. Great looks too.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I currently have a SC9S soundbar system to go with my 55" C3 OLED TV. Everything works just fine and as advertised. A friend of mine has the last years' 77" C3 TV and the S95QR soundbar system. He is now thinking about going to a larger theatre sound system and his SPQ8-W sub-woofer may become available. As both system sub-woofers are wi-fi connected and from the same C3 time period would the SPQ8-W sub work in my system? It would seem to give me deeper bass as the driver is larger and with more power. Thanks.
Hi Jak, thank you for sharing your feedback. It’s great to hear your SC9S Soundbar is performing well with your C3 OLED setup. Regarding your question: the SPQ8‑W subwoofer is not compatible with the SC9S system. Each LG soundbar model is designed to pair only with its specific, included wireless subwoofer, so mixing models—even from the same year—won’t connect or function properly. Swapped cables for better sound - Optical Audio
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the LG SC9S Soundbar and paired it with my 2020 LG 55" OLED TV, hoping to create an immersive and easy-to-use home theater system in our living room, where we daily watch Numerous shows from a variety of sources. I used an HDMI eARC connection directly from my three-year old LG OLED, downloaded the iPhone app and turned up the volume. LG includes an HDMI cable with the Soundbar. Set-up was fairly easy, especially using the app. I set the TV's audio output for HDMI eARC and started testing the new Soundbar. Using the HDMI cable, the audio results were muddled. While watching favorite streaming shows, the voices were often drowned out or made difficult to hear by background music and noises. Talk shows sounded great as did the news, but shows with music and sound effects create issues. There are eight different "Sound Effects", but none cleared up the audio issues. Two seem redundant "AI Sound Pro automatically optimize sound based on content type" sounds very much like like "Standard - Generally, the best sound is set to be heard". The translations could be clearer. I called LG consumer support to troubleshoot my sound issues and the support person was quite patient and helpful. I swapped out the HDMI, reset the Soundbar and tried different input sources, but no improvement to the muddling. It was suggested I try an Optical Audio cable and that fixed the problem, but seems like a step-back in technology. Thankfully I had an audio optical cable and connected it from the 2020 LG OLED to the Soundbar, changed the TV’s output to match that cable and the “muddled audio” issues disappeared! Not sure yet if I still get all of the benefits and features of the Soundbar (IMAX, Dolby Atmos) using Optical Audio, but I can now simultaneously play audio from the Soundbar AND the TV, for even more sound. I had hoped to place the speaker in front of my 2020 LG OLED, but doing so blocks the RF sensor, so the remote won't work. I therefore put it on a shelf above the TV and it looks nice there, blending into the shelf. I placed the subwoofer behind the set and it is nicely hidden, but the bass is still impressive. In conclusion, the sound is very impressive, I just wish the set-up had been smoother and that the recommended HDMI connection had been successful. At least now I have excellent sound from all sources and am ready for even greater performance when and if I upgrade to a new LG OLED evo. Read less Yes, I recommend this product.

Best soundbar I ever had
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been using LG Soundbar SC9 for a month, and I enjoy every moment. The sound quality is perfect. The subwoofer shakes my room, and sometimes I worry my neighbors will complain. When I watch a movie I can feel how sound moves from one side of the room to the other. Installation was straightforward and once it was done, it worked great. I do not need another remote control, because the soundbar supports an ARC HDMI connection. When I turn on my TV, the soundbar turns on automatically. The soundbar and subwoofer are premium products, and I recommend them.
Limited review
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Only had the bar for a week so this is very much a first look review. Initially we setup via Bluetooth until we were ready to lift our tv of the wall to connect via HDMI. Set-up was straightforward with our 2020 LG nano TV although I found the remote pretty useless as you had to work out which button to press and then how many times to press it to cycle through the options. Luckily the remote wasn't really needed, especially once we got the soundbar to work from our TV remote and there is an app which works very well to set up sound output to the bar and woofer. Even with Bluetooth connection my partner, who loves films was impressed with the sound and sound and picture appeared to sync well with no perceivable delay.. However there is no way to get the LG TV to default to Bluetooth for sound output so bit of a faff having to keep changing output everytime we switched on the TV. Connecting to HDMI Arc did fix this and the TV now defaults to the soundbar seamlessly. Sound is of a good quality although we have had to turn down the subwoofer as our dog is not impressed with immersive sound.
Never I have experienced sound like now
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using my LG Soundbar SC9 for a month and enjoy it more daily. It was delivered in a strong box, that looked very professional. Inside were the main unit, subwoofer, remote, and brackets for LG TV. It was a great pleasure to unbox it. I was like a child opening a new toy. Installation was dead easy. You can choose HDMI or Bluetooth. Wireless connection 9includin bass speaker) works great, I have never experienced any issues. The soundbar detects ARC HDMI, so you don't need to use extra remote control. When you turn on the TV or game console, it turns automatically. The sound quality is superb and when I watch a movie or play a game, it surrounds me from every corner.
Every flat screen needs one
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very impressed so far with the sound bar. Been looking at one for a long time and was very happy to get this which is compatible with my LG tv and fits seamlessly into the stand recess at the bottom of the TV to help hide all the wires. Out of the box the sound bar is a good size but the sub was quite big. The bar looks great and is very minimalist with just a few touch buttons on the top. The set up was easy enough though I would have liked a better instruction manual to help with settings after installation. It’s hard to know what the bar is set up as as no onscreen information or options came up except on the TV sound settings. The remote seems pretty worthless to this regard as nothing seems to happen or change when you use it and I have no manual that tells me what it does. It has wifi and Bluetooth but doesn’t say wether it can connect to the tv via this or is it just for mobile and other devices to stream from. After some online research I finally set it up I think to work with the TV. Advantages. Great sound compared to the TV speakers. Looks great Disadvantages. Needed better set up instructions. Sticks out a long way under tv Sub is rather big Overall a great sounding bar and happy to have it. Still fiddling to get the sound options I like.
Solid sound quality soundbar.

Don't buy unless you don't care about rear suround
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This soundbar does not work with any rear speakers, the rear speakers have been discontinued with no option for anything else to work with them. I feel very cheated as I just purchased this yesterday not realizing the rear speakers did not come with the sound bar. I would have no issues buying the rear speakers if they were available.
