Tried to light this for over 10 minutes!! Finally had to go buy lighter fluid to get it started!! It's the second time I've had this problem with the same product. Thought it was just a fluke the first time. Now, I know it's just a terrible product that I will NEVER waste my money on again. Kingsford can keep their junk!

Didn't use lighter fluid with these so that's not the issue. But we cooked burgers using these today and had to throw out all the food due to a very strong chemical taste in the food, like what I would imagine lighter fluid might taste like (smelled the same). The whole grill smelled disgusting from these. Never again!!

i have used this product for 20 years now and have loved it every time, however the last 3 times i have tried it lately it does not light. a friend of mine told me to use lighter fluid, i told him it was match light and i should not need it. he said he uses lighter fluid every time. im thinking this product has gone to the way side and would not recommend it to any one. sorry for the bad review but its better than trying to light your grill and can not do it. scott

Never had a bag bag of Matchlight, even when I lived in the humidity capital of the world, Orlando. I always purchase the same 12 pound bag. This past Sunday, I think I got a dud. supermarket had it marked down and I bought it. The bag was dry and looked same as it always does, but about 40 percent of the brickets did not light at all. I even tried to light some of them individually without luck. Tried again last night, same thing. Some lit, some did not.

I bought a 11.6 lb of Match Light charcoal late July. I have bareIy used half of the 11.6 lb Match light charcoal. I got ready to light up my grill today Match Light would not light up. My food I had prepared for the grill had to be cooked in the oven. I tried holding a grill lighter over the pyramid of charcoal as directed on the package. Match Light would not light light after holding the grill lighter for a full two minutes. I did not have any lighter fluid I thought I was paying the price not to buy the lighter fluid. there should be a expiration date or warning that product may not work after a short period of time.

I have bought close to $100 worth of your match light briquettes and 3 of every four bags I have purchased I have been unable to build a fire without adding fluid and most times I have had none available with friends and or family all waiting to eat...very, VERY Disappointed with your product

This stuff is worthless!!! I just spent 45 minutes trying to get it lit and never could. I bought this so I didn't have to mess with charcoal AND fluid only to find out I need to get lighter fluid if I want to use it. I'm disgusted that I actually spent money on this. That steak I thought I was going to enjoy tonight isn't going to happen - woo hoo - such a tasty 4th of July!. Kingsford, you ought to be ashamed of yourself. Stop bragging about your inferior product!!!

I have bought 2 bags in the past 2 weeks or so and both bags wont stay lite. We prefer charcoal and Kingsford's brand but it doesn't want to stay lite like it used too. Very disappointed when we have to resort back to the kitchen and oven to cook our food.

Kingsford is by far the best charcoal on the market. And the match light is my favorite as it gets me cooking so much faster. What I love about Kingsford specifically is that you never have to worry about lighting it over and over like the knock off brands. Go kingsford.

I brought this brand thinking it would be faster and better that buying lighter fluid and BOY WAS I WRONG.. I was so inconvenienced by having to run back and forth to the store which is about 10 miles from me. BBQ plans were late, hungry guest were upset, just an overall bad experience.
