Kingsford Match Light Charcoal is the best because it requires no lighter fluid and it cooks perfectly.

⭐ “MATCH LIGHT” THAT WON’T LIGHT! Extremely disappointed with this Kingsford Match Light charcoal. The whole point of buying Match Light is that it’s supposed to light easily without lighter fluid. I spent entirely too much time trying to get these briquettes started—matches, a long grill lighter, multiple spots, different arrangements, and even fresh briquettes straight from the bag. Nothing. I actually held a flame directly against a brand-new briquette and it STILL would not stay lit. The two-pack was wrapped in plastic, stored properly, and the charcoal was dry, so moisture should not have been an issue. After struggling with it, I checked the reviews and saw that several other customers have experienced the exact same problem, with some saying they went through a large portion of the bag just trying to get it lit. This isn't a minor inconvenience. When a product is specifically sold as “Match Light — No Lighter Fluid Needed,” it should actually LIGHT. I shouldn't have to waste charcoal, time, matches, and fuel from a grill lighter just trying to get dinner started. Kingsford needs to look into the consistency and quality control of this product. A bag of charcoal that won't light is basically a bag of rocks.
