The last two times I have purchased and used Kingsford Match Light, I have had to go to the store and purchase lighter fluid because it won't start. I almost used an entire box of matches once trying to get it to light. The bag says, "No lighter fluid needed. Coals ready in 10 minutes." If this product doesn't get better, I will not recommend it for the price. Spend the money on the regular charcoal and lighter fluid. Kingsford, I have always purchased your products because they have been the best. However, you are letting your grill masters down lately. Help us out, please.

Haven't used charcoal in a few years now simply because of the difficulty of cooking quickly and cleanly with it. However, after reading everything I can hear & learning so much, I'm now using strictly charcoal and only KingsFord charcoal! They're the best!

I love the fact that I do not have to use 1/2 bottle of starter fluid to get this started and can do it myself instead of waiting for hubby to get home from work to light it! It also seems to burn the starter fluid smell off quickly, so doesn't have your meat smelling like it!

I’m very disappointed that match light has went slowly but now surelyI bought the large bag and this is either horrible quality of match light or the Kingsford lighter fluid that I had to put on to keep them lit it was like that with every use I’ve had some in the past that was hard to light or went out but this was the worst of all I’ve ever had I will not trust the match light again it’s a waste to pay more only to add what I’m paying extra for the lighter fluid and still they burn up really fast always have they need to check the quality of them and make them like they did a few years ago

I rented a camp in the Adirondacks and when I arrived,I discovered the grill was charcoal. So naturally I picked up a bag of match light because of Kingsford's exceptional reputation. In hindsight, I should have gone with the no name brand. It took at least 10 minutes to get the charcoal lit because it kept going out. Then it took well over 30 minutes for the coals to turn gray. I can deal with that but then my food tasted like lighter fluid. I had to drive to the closest town about 15 miles away to get something for dinner because the meal I grilled was inedible.

I have been using match light for years and have only had a couple of issues. The last 4-5 bags I have purchased either barely light at all or lights fast with lots of flame but then about 10 minutes in do nothing but smoke and the briquettes don't ash and burns very cool. It's ruined several BBQ's lately and I am re-thinking my charcoal purchases now.

I brought this brand thinking it would be faster and better that buying lighter fluid and BOY WAS I WRONG.. I was so inconvenienced by having to run back and forth to the store which is about 10 miles from me. BBQ plans were late, hungry guest were upset, just an overall bad experience.

I had never used another brand until a family member picked up charcoal for me, and brought home a store brand. Unlike my Kingsford Match Light, I couldn't get it lit, couldn't get it to STAY lit once I finally got it started, and dinner took forever to cook. I did notice a difference in how quickly it lit the last time I used it (first time grilling in a while), and was very pleased. An improvement on an already superior product!

Bought this two days ago to use on my new grille, I spent five minutes trying to light the charcoal with matches and a lighter with no luck. I had to add a good amount of lighter fluid, it seemed like every briquette needed to be coated to work. This product was not worth the money.

We used a small amount once for Smores and they worked fine. Then when I was having people over on a Sunday evening for steak, THEY WON'T LIGHT. HAVING TO START WITH NEWSPAPER. EPIC FAIL. VERY EXPENSIVE. If I knew I needed lighter fluid I would have gotten some, but it's Sunday night and I have people over so I can't!
