We have enjoyed these scallops several times. I divide them up to make a couple meals from each bag. They turn out better than any restaurant scallops I would pay twice the price for.

Who doesn’t love scallops? There are occasional hard spots and sand but you’ll find that with any large scallops. You just have to rinse them and trim them.

The flavor of these sea scallops are absolutely delicious. Easy and best cooking method to preserve the lobster like taste is “pan fried in plenty of butter searing each side then cooking for only a few minutes on each side. The minimum temperature should be 145 degrees. This last time I cooked to 160 degrees and it was perfect! My preference is just butter and keeps the flavor beautiful. Enjoy

Samsclub used to sell for the same price better scallops from Hokkaido, Japan, with no sand inside. These scallops are very tasty and flavorful but they have sand in it even after cleaning them thoroughly. i wanted to make Coquilles St Jacques with them but with sand in it, it's not an option. It's a shame.

The key thing to why these are quality scallops? They are dried and frozen, not brined. You can tell because they have a variation in color. It's also why they don't shrink to nothing when cooked and are just about as full of flavor as fresh. Further, I've noticed the "foot" has been removed, unlike others. These are frankly better than the rival "upscale" warehouse in our area. Lastly, a cooking hint: after defrosted, place them on paper towels to dry the surface before placing in a hot pan with butter...let them get a good crust...do not overcook. Delicious.

Thank you for bringing back the North Atlantic sea scallops. The Japanese scallops you had were so awful that I quit buying your scallops. These American scallops are as good as any that high end restaurants serve. I'll definitely buy these!

What happened? Sams used to offer Japanese Hokkaido scallops (considered the best in the world ) for a FEW DOLLARS LESS than these North American ones. Can we not get Japanese anymore because of tariffs or why? I mean, these are OK, but not as tasty and more expensive. How come?

When I bought these scallops home and opened the bag, they smelled like... well, smelled like scallops that were sitting for far too long. They had that stereotypical fishy odor that stunk up the entire refrigerator. I'm sure this isn't a super common occurrence, since there are hundreds of 5 star reviews where customers had a great experience. But when you buy cheap, bulk, frozen scallops from a warehouse club, there is a risk of stuff like this occurring. You buy at your own risk.
