Good running

Just received and tried with propane first...didn't run well and found out not to open propane with full on..ran better. Runs very well on gasoline. Only drawback is not electric start but maybe can't with the propane?? Time will tell this hurricane season which is almost here.

Dual fuel option is awesome!

I have a small collection of propane tanks laying around. Because this generator can use propane, I have filled up the tanks in case of emergency. They can be stored indefinitely and the propane won’t go bad like gasoline will. I love having options!

Works about as expected.

Runs and powers a few things. This will keep my refrigerator and freezer going as well as lights and some small space heaters. Should run the water heater if I turn the refrigerator and freezer off during the process. Came with a broken spark plug boot (igniter kit assembly part #50100022), but may have been dropped in transit, as it seems an axle was a little bent, but I expect Westinghouse will send a replacement boot. It fired up right away once I glued and taped the boot together for a break-in run. Some LED lights in the house flicker with generator motor variations, but I expect you would need an inverter generator if you were picky about that. Some LED’s do not handle even small voltage variations very well.

great features

I bought this machine a few days ago because i love that it is dual fuel so in a pinch i can run either gas or propane. that's a big bonus. All the features of this generator are great, and at 5300 Watts will big a big help in power outages and to run power around my homestead.

Good Looking, just won’t start

I bought this back in September and got it all put together pretty easily got the oil it and just needed to put gas in it and run it. A month and a half later after purchasing it I finally get some gas and put it in and now it will not start. Nice looking machine just disappointed that it would not start.

Easy to operate

Bought this generator to power the fridge in case of power outage. Very easy to set up and operate. Only giving 4 stars because the L14-30R outlet wasn’t producing power no matter the troubleshooting steps taken. At least the 5-20R outlets were working perfectly.

Easy start and runs great!

I had been putting off buying a generator for over a year because I thought they would be hard to start up and difficult to figure out how to hook up equipment. The Westinghouse Gen5300DFV washed all those fears away within the first few minutes. The instructions were easy to follow and starting up with propane was a breeze. I love the option to run on propane or fuel and starting was super easy on both. This will be a great generator for any emergency use!

Will do the Job

I bought it because my electrician said it was large enough to power my whole house in case of a blackout. After he installed the receptacle to connect the generator to the breaker box and tested the it we both were pleased that it did its job great. He said it was a very good product. Last winter during a snow and ice storm we were without electricity for more than 3 days (you can only imagine how cold it was in our house), now with this generator that will never happen again.

WGen5300DFV

I bought the Westinghouse WGen 5300DFv about a month ago. The item arrive on time, and packaging was good nothing was damage when I unpacked it, assembling & operation instructions was easy, ran it on propane and gasoline, both works well. I live in Austin, Texas. If there's another ice storm or black out I know I'm well prepared.

Great Features but...

I bought this for my RV. It works very well and has great features such as multiple electrical outlets and runs great on both fuel types. My only 2 complaints are that it is heavier and runs louder than I would have liked. If it was quieter, I would be happier with it. I tested it on both propane and gasoline fuel sources and it ran great on both. I did not put in much fuel (maybe a gallon and a half) and it ran and ran and ran! I feel confident that I can use this while camping and not run out of fuel for a long time.
