Great Unit for a Great Price

This is a must have if you live in an area with an unstable grid (i.e.- Southern California in the Summer). Our power went out during a time when we were hosting friends, and this bad boy allowed me to cook on two electronically controlled pellet grills while charging all my portable devices and running outdoor lighting. I recommend it to everyone I know.

Simple setup, easy to understand features

Just purchased my Westinghouse WGen5300DFv generator, set up was a breeze. Simple wheel and stand design, added the supplied oil, with the supplied spin on funel for a no mess pour, turned on the nessasary switch and fuel valve, added fuel and it started on the second pull and purs like a kitten. So far a great product with easy set up.

Great Features!

I bought this generator as back-up power for my house, we live in California which is the land of rolling blackouts. The 44 amp @ 120v is more than enough for my house. I plan on using the 240v to recharge my plug-in hybrid which helped me sell this purchase to my wife, haha. The 240v was totally unexpected and along with the Dual Fuel ability . . . definitely a win win! This is my first generator and the time to set-up was surprisingly short and very easy, thank you Westinghouse!

A easy to assemble and use portable generator

I bought it a few months ago and I thought it would be difficult to set it up. It is a surprise that it has easy to follow instructions. I was able to set it up and get it up running. When the very first power outage happened, I was able to hook it up quickly and power my house. I am happy with this purchase.

Affordable prices, easy assembly and will built!

Very happy with this product may even buy another one. Easy to operate. Very excited about the dual fuel. Much easier to carry propane. Doesn't have the smell of gas When transporting in my van. Awesome product! Very smooth operation and voltage is prefect.

Great for the price

Great little generator. Bought it as a backup power source if the power goes out. Works great for a couple refrigerators, freezers, lights, oil furnace. Runs the electric stove too if I turn off some of the other appliances. And the dual-fuel is a definite bonus.

It Works great.

I bought this less than a month ago, because the weather was predicting an ice storm, with power outages, luckily we didn't louse power, but we were ready. The assemble instructions were easy to follow, and I had it running in no time. Thank you.

Excellent Quality

I purchased this generator just over a month ago and have used it several times. I needed a way to power my RV while boondocking in southern California. While running, this generator will charge my batteries, power the A/C unit, heat my water, run my fridge and power my 120v devices at the same time using the 30A plug. I run it on a 20lb propane tank before switching over to the gas tank. The generator will run for most of the day on 20lb of propane and slightly longer on the 4.7gal tank of gasoline. The generator certainly isn't quiet, but it is essential for powering my devices when I don't have an electrical hookup. It was also reasonably affordable compared to similarly sized models by other brands. One feature I would have liked was an electronic starter so that my battery inverter could automatically start the generator when my battery level falls below a certain threshold, but for the tradeoff in cost, I can handle turning it on and off manually. It only takes 2-3 pulls of the cord to start on both propane and gasoline, with a large knob to easily switch between the two. I run the generator in the bed of my truck making sure to put it in the center to give it as much clearance as possible. It does put out a lot of heat, but doesn't appear to harm my truck bed. It would probably be better to run the generator on the ground, but it's a little too heavy for me to be lifting in and out of the truck bed when I need to use it. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase.

Best Bang for the Buck!

I am very pleased with the features of this WGen5300DFv. It has lots of power, comes with hardware to run two fuels, and includes a wheel kit. I like the flexibility of not having to stockpile tons for gasoline. Most other generators make you buy the wheel kit separately, and who can move these beasts without it?

I TRUST THIS GENERATOR!

I have owned several generators—most of them smaller than this one. Sure they’re lighter, quieter, more portable, BUT, what good is all of that if they don’t have enough power?! This gennie has plenty of power to keep you in business in a storm, power outage or crap-hit-the-fan scenario. The dual fuel is a really nice feature. Run out of gas? Grab the propane tank off the ol’ BBQ and you’re back in business! I’m a fan! I’d trust this heavy duty dude in a bind!
