Perfect For Hurricane Season

This is the perfect solution for hurricane preparedness. Last year we lost power for 4 days and gasoline was very hard to find without driving nearly an hour away to find it. The propane option now gives us twice the fuel source. Runs our free-standing A/C unit and our window unit to make it through the heat, as well as a few fans, a light or charge our electronic devices.

Great value

I am very pleased that I was able to buy a Westinghouse generator!! They had just what I needed which was a gasoline propane dual generator After looking up and seeing how well Westinghouse is rated and Sam’s club had it featured it was a no-brainer and now I’m ready to go with my generator whenever I want thanks Westinghouse

Versatile

I like that I have the option to avoid gasoline. Propane is cleaner, and I don't have to worry about it going bad in storage. I had some difficulty starting the generator for the first time. I watched a YouTube video that demonstrated the choke position in the opposite position that the owner's manual suggests, and the machine started right up. Now I'm waiting for the inevitable power outage.

Excellent generator

I love the dual fuel option. Will explore adding a connection to home propane tank for larger supply availability. Sure beats relying on gas when the power is out and gas pumps are down. Also appreciate that it has metal shrouds vs the plastic on some of the others I looked at.

WGEN5300DF Dual Fuel Generator

Acquired for hopefully occasional use during storms that affect traditional power. Needed to provide power to deep water well pump and equipment generally found in garage including refrigerator and freezer. Started right up using propane. Appears solid. Not totally impressed with the plastic choke lever. Adding oil is messy and ultimately results in a overfill.

Solid Generator With Nice Features

Nice generator. Simple to operate and I love the dual fuel feature so that I can be assured that it will always start when using propane. It’s a nice compact design and, unlike other generators I’ve had, you can get to the air filter easily on this one. The noise level is about what I expected and is on par with most portable generators of this size. The oil fill funnel is a nice added touch that will help prevent oil spills during oil changes down the road. I also appreciate the tires being solid so that flat tires aren’t an issue.

So far, so good

I received the unit and inspected all around and found an air cover clip broken off. There were some slight bends in the frame, but nothing to keep it from operating. I filled the generator with oil and gas and ran the 1 hour break-in and then plugged in a space heater that put a load on and no problems. I plan to store it until I have the house wired to accept generator power and that will be the test.

Should have been 5 stars.

It's difficult to ding a product 1 star when it could easily be a 5. But too many reviews and including my own experience, resulted in a slightly damaged frame upon delivery. A little sand paper and black Rust-Oleum will fix but should even have to do that. Everything else is great about this generator, from build to options, and cost. Overall, still happy I went with Westinghouse.

Exactly what I needed

I was looking for a moderately priced dual fuel generator that I could hook up to our house electrical system. I needed a 4 wire 240 volt. This one is perfect! Easy assembly of wheels and rubber feet. Hooked up a propane tank and it started right up (after filling it with oil of course!). Not very loud either. All I need now is a power outage!

So far so good

Very easy and simple installation. I just had to put on the wheels and the rubber feet. I added the oil, which was included, filled it with gas and it started on the first pull. It ran smoothly and was quieter than I had anticipated. Tested the power on all of the outlets and they all seem to work properly. Have not had to use it yet, guess I’m lucky I have not lost power in a while. But I will be ready. I scanned the QR code with my phone, filled out the registration online and they sent me a free cover for the generator.
