Hanging out..!

The Rating of this shower bench is going to be a little mixed. No where in the pictures of it nor the description does it tell you that IF you have a contoured tub, then the inside bench legs will NOT go all the way to the inside tub edge, therefore you will be hanging out of the tub area thus causing a huge wet mess because the shower curtain just won't go all the way around you. On the other hand, the bench itself is great. Quick to put together and/or change the adjustments. It is really really sturdy as advertised. Really not a bad purchase if you're in need of this device..!

Drive tub transfer bench

This bench is one-third outside the tub and two-thirds inside. I found that it is best to elevate the two legs outside the tub higher than the ones inside so that water runs back into the tub rather than on the floor. I purchased a heavy duty shower curtain liner and made two vertical cuts to accommodate the bench, and the combination of efforts has worked well in not getting water outside the tub. The two legs inside the tub have good suction so it isn't going anywhere.

Not what I expected

The bench was hard to assemble. In particular the brass clips which secure the legs which go inside the tub were hard to secure. It took me many tries and a lot of patience to finally get the positioning just right. This transfer bench replaced a Medline bench. It us of poorer quality. I will never purchase a Drive product again.

Came in handy while leg in a cast!

If you need a transfer bench, this is the one to get! The gray color is preferable to white, it just looks fresh so much longer. It was easy to put this together. After my husband's leg surgery, he had to keep his right leg (in a cast) dry, so he couldn't use the shower. This bench was the answer. It was to easy to put over the side of the tub, for him to safely slide from the bathroom rug area to the inside of the tub without any issues, then take a bath with the handheld shower attachment without worrying about the bench sliding around.

Love It!!

I love this bench. It's great for what I need it for. It's really sturdy too. I like that it's longer than the other one I had. And it seems to be better built. I love how it's got bigger foot pads. This is a great bench and I do recommend it to anyone who needs a bench in the shower.

Stuck with a Transfer bench that works in any bath

Do not purchase any of the shower chair or bench or second party home health products without reading returns. None of these items are returnable. Make sure the one you select is a keeper before purchasing. Signed stuck with a transfer chair that stated it would work in any bathroom. Check your measurements. Gloria

Drive Medical plastic tub transfer bench.

This item is very well made... and it should be, because it's made by Drive Medical. This is the exact item they recommended at the rehab facility I stayed in after my bilateral (double) knee replacement. I was able to find it and order it from Walmart with free shipping (7 days) and it was nearly $20 cheaper than Amazon prime. (free shipping) Go figure. Quality item for a great price. Works like a champ.

Great bench!

This tub transfer bench is such a help after leg surgery. The extra length is wonderful for sliding in and out of the shower more easily, and for keeping water in the tub, not on the floor. I wrapped the shower curtain around one side as another reviewer suggested. The bench is sturdy and and roomy.

HUGE!!

This is an awesome chair. Very well made and heavy duty. But, much too large for my tub and small bathroom. The legs and handle rested in the middle of my tub. When I sat down I was more towards the edge of the tub. Which made it impossible for me to use my hand held shower. This would be perfect for a walk-in shower.

Safe, sturdy and very affordable!

I purchased this item to help my mother, she fell and broke her hip this year. I love the quality construction/larger suction cup rubber based legs. She uses it very often and could not shower without this product. I highly recommend it and searched many of these until I found this particular one. A local medical supply company wanted over $100 for a product similar in design/function. Trust me when I say you'll be happy with this!
