Transfer Bench

My husband came home from the hospital very week. Home Health recommended a transfer bench to take his showers. This bench works perfectly. So glad that they make something like this because we did not have a separate shower stall. We do have handicap rails which I most definitely recommend.

Strong and strudy but to large for my bathroom

I had to return this item. It was very strudy and strong. But was way to large for my tub and bathroom. The outside part almost hit my toliet so it was to hard to get in tub or store and use the toliet. In a large bathroom it would be a perfect fit.

Very Sturdy

Seems very sturdy and has been exactly what we were looking for. My husband is 6'2" and 240 lbs and hurt his knee and the other knee was already hurting, so he basically just falls down on the seat - the suction feet in the tub hold it in place - he doesn't worry about falling. Had a little trouble putting it together because one of the places for the handle was not round and therefore the handle wouldn't insert, but my father was able to round it out with a crowbar so it finally worked. The only complaint I have is that we need to take it out of the tub for when our children are bathing and it seems to hold water in the legs somewhere that always drips out when moving it.

Shower Bench

This bench is very sturdy - it feels so much safer for my mom than the one she used to have. It was easy to put together if you read the directions first and lay everything out so you can see all of the parts in one place. It's also a nice gray color, a great change from the usual white equipment. Thanks Drive Medical for this great bench!

Good with suggestions

Nice, supportive and sturdy. Basically, a good product, however, do NOT use in a small bathroom because it takes up a lot of space., especially when the tub and toilet are next to each other. Also, it can not be stored in a regular size tub because of how the legs fit wide, too wide to store in tub. Not okay/good for ”limited space”bathrooms or stand-alone showers. To the maker: recommend that you make a smaller version /size that is less bulky and a size that can be used for kids and does not take up a lot of room / storage space........maybe vulnerable (or...walkers).

transfer chair

The VA had sent me a big, bulky white plastic transfer bench. I was afraid to use it, as it looked unsafe. Having never say on it, there was a crack on the leg. I weigh abt 320. So I ordered this bench from Wal-Mart as it had a weight limit of 400 lbs. Tried it right after it came. Fantastic. Felt safe and was able to take a nice safe shower. Love it

Great bench if you have a big bathtub

I only give this 4 stars because of its clunkiness makes it clumsy to move in and out of the bathroom and difficult to stow away. Other than that it is a high quality product and a good size for a large, modern tub. For my puny tub however, it was not a good fit. The gap between the segment that hangs over the tub and the rest of the seat sat in such a way that water ran like a waterfall down the outside of my tub and onto the floor. For that reason I'm returning it and getting a more compact model.

Drive tub transfer bench

This bench is one-third outside the tub and two-thirds inside. I found that it is best to elevate the two legs outside the tub higher than the ones inside so that water runs back into the tub rather than on the floor. I purchased a heavy duty shower curtain liner and made two vertical cuts to accommodate the bench, and the combination of efforts has worked well in not getting water outside the tub. The two legs inside the tub have good suction so it isn't going anywhere.

Not compatible with Garden Tub

nice tub shower transfer if you don't have a garden tub. Not made for a garden tub, definitely for a square tub. I searched all over this site to see if this transfer bench was compatible with our tub. no where did it say not for garden tubs. it should say it saves frustration.

Shower Transfer Chair

It is a good chair. Seems well made and fairly easy to adjust. My 86 year old mother is able to use it without any difficulty. My only complaint is that it seems a little pricey. For what it is constructed of, I would think about $20 cheaper would be a fair price.
