I bought this about 5 weeks ago and was optimistic about it based on other reviews. Unfortunately the one I have only burns for a few seconds then quits. I thought it could be a breeze blowing it out so I tried it indoors and had the same result. I really wish it worked.

I was a little skeptical when I saw this product on the shelf. I read the box, decided to try it. I also bought a refill kit at the same time. My Patio Sheild sat on my patio waiting for its first run. Then Hurricane Florence struck NC. Life was put on hold for a couple of weeks, but not for the mosquitoes. It has become a plague of nearly Biblical proportions in NC. Well tonight I brought my Patio Sheild to my sons baseball practice under the lights. Not one bite and I’ve been here for about an hour. Others are spraying Deet like sunscreen on the beach. I got my Patio Sheild in the cup holder of my folding chair. I’m very impressed. The little bloodsuckers fly by but never land. Great job. Thanks for such a wonderful product. Never stop selling the refills.

Purchased this item to help with the HUGE mosquito problem in our back yard. We back up to a wildlife area with a pond and marsh which is beautiful but a nursery for mosquitoes. This rendered our deck off limits as dusk began, that is until we tried Patio Shield. We were able to relax "bite free" for a little over 4 hours last night. We are telling the neighbors to get one of these!!!

This is a wonderful product, that works great on my back porch. I only gave it four stars for two reasons: (1) The refills are a bit pricey, (2) I recently took it to the Smoky Mountains on vacation, and I believe the higher altitude caused it to be harder to start up. Once it got going it was great!

Bought this thinking it would repell mosquitoes but did the opposite. I let it warm up for 15 minutes and placed it upwind and it didn’t do anything. The mosquitoes were still coming as their usual behavior and this device didn’t stop them in the slightest.

A friend told me about the Thermacell when I told her I can hardly go outside in my garden anymore. I am such a mosquito magnet! I was skeptical but ordered it because I'm willing to try anything. As soon as it arrived, I set it up out on the patio and went back inside for 10-15 minutes to allow it time to create my "dome of protection". I was able to sit out on my patio for 2 hours and came in completely unbitten. It was amazing! I've used it several times since with the same result. My sister just ordered one today after I told her about my experience. She can't wait for it to arrive!

I bought this a couple months ago and thought that I'd take a chance - that it might end up with all my other ineffective repellents - in the trash - but was tired of being eaten alive by mosquitoes so it was worth a chance. I AM SO GLAD I DID! I carry this little bugger with me every where I go. I NEVER has mosquito bites when I use this. I just bought a huge pack of refills so I'm prepared for the rest of the season. I even sent one to a friend who complained she could not get any use of her patio because of mosquitoes. She was thrilled with it too.

I bought one a few months ago cause everything I tried to keep those pesky things away didn't work and was tired of getting attacked. I love thermacell products definitely keeps the skeeters away. I highly recommend to any who has a problem. The only thing I can complain about is me wishing the refills were less costly but I still love it.

I had read a lot of good reviews about this and so decided to buy it for my family for the Canada day long weekend, when we all travel up north and there are tons of bugs. I first set it up on the patio, it was turned on and had the light glowing. Left it on for over an hour and saw no improvements with the mosquitoes whatsoever. We were all still being swarmed by mosquitoes and eaten alive. It was not windy and there were visible fumes coming off of the machine but it was not keeping the bugs away at all. Later that night, we tried it again outside while we all sat at the bonfire. We let it heat up for 1 hour beforehand. It was still not effective at all, within 5 minutes we were all being eaten alive so we had to go inside. I am very disappointed that this product did not work at all and I am starting to think that all of the good reviews must be fake. Returned it the next day.

This repellent absolutely works as specified, without that annoying Citronella smell! I placed it on my small porch deck and immediately noticed that there were NO mosquitoes! It is way better than other repellents that uses smell, such as candles, to repellent pesky insects. The butane refills can get a little expensive, but it is completely worth it because it actually works! I have recommended it to all my friends and family.
