I love this thing, it is a must have. We live in the country with a pond and a cow pasture. The mosquitoes here are not normal mosquitoes they are teenage mutant ninja mosquitoes!! I have spent so much money on every kind of torch fuel, citronella candle, citronella incense, citronella plant, and bug spray just the works and none of them have worked they will bite you through bug spray and through anything you can throw at them. THIS is the only thing that keeps them away and lets us enjoy the outdoors as a family!

Only used this twice so far, but it has been good. It's small enough to not be an eyesore, and easily blends in with other decor. No noise and more importantly NO MOSQUITOES! Only gripe is it says one pad is only good for 4 hours, but that should be long enough to get through the peak nibbling sessions of the evening hours.

Fire pit, right next to marsh. Cat tails and beaver hut in sight. I tested it. It worked. It worked impressively in my humble opinion. I've been in that area with nothing and was lighter due to the amount of blood I had removed by them pesky critters. I've been able to sit there for hours with no spray and never so much as a swat from my hand. If it's windy enough to keep the bugs away, don't light it. If the bugs will be looking for you, light er up. I turn mine on right away, before I even look at starting a fire. Once the fires going, I've never been bothered. My significant other has gotten a couple bites, ok, a couple. But as an observer, I've notice a big increase in a content look on her face, and much much less mosquitoes swatting. Yes, there is a cost involved, and a cost to operate. Worth it from my point of view. These folks deserve to make some bucks for this contraption, cause it works. I've already bought a significant back up of butane cartridge and magic stuff patches. Word of warning. The first time I turned it off, thats all I did. Turned it to off and put er on the shelf. Next time I went to use it, was empty, no fuel. Now, I turn it off, reach up and unscrew the gas. Still worth it, it works.

Got the new Patio Shield in red. Have been using on my back and front porch. The Thermacell I have have always been solid.The features are simple and effective. I also like the internal storage for the mats! I've got some buddies that are amazed and stated they got to have one or more. Here in Louisiana we can be attacked with mosquitoes 8 months out of the year. Thanks for the attractive, functional design. I've got several of the handheld, two of the lanterns, and now the porch shield.

This product works great! I use it on my deck and in my gazebo area! Finally able to use the outdoor space! Nothing better espresso in these times where most of us are quarantined, its nice to know I came enjoy my outdoor space without being eaten alive! Well done Thermacell

I have used our Thermacell several times. Within 10 minutes the mosquitos were gone and I was not being bit anymore. There were still some gnats and some other flying insects around but if they went near the Thermacell they would quickly fly away. There was minimal smell and the surface area the Thermacell was on did not get hot. It did have a small amount of smoke at the release site and a small bit of smell so I would not recommend putting it on a picnic table in front of you or near your food. I was able to wash the car without any bites...so happy.

So happy to have this for the outdoors while sitting watching the children play with. I love that it sprays a great distance with no batteries or outlets needed. Love that it has a variety of color choices and good battery life its chemicals safe and content away from the children and its compact nice looking desigm

I bought this about a week ago and have used it over the last couple of days for camping. It worked great the first day and a half and now it won’t stay lit. I’ve tried changing the tank and the mat but nothing seems to be working. Sometimes it will stay lit for a bit but it doesn’t last long

This product works very well in repelling mosquitoes as do all the thermacell products I've tried. There are some significant improvements to this model. * This ignition system is more robust and appears to get hotter, quicker than previous model. This is really important because until the mat heats up your're being eaten by mosquitoes. * No batteries. Excellent. Previous halo requires several AA batteries. * Lightweight and a bit smaller than previous version. * Viewer window to make sure burner is lit is better positioned to give a clearer view. * Good use of space with mat storage underneath. Now unlike the previous halo version this product only holds 1 butane cartridge as opposed to 4 like the previous version. Personally I like the fact this model only uses 1 cartridge at a time. The single cartridge at a time will prevent you from wasting butane if you forget to turn it off. Also you wont waste time checking the butane levels constantly as I currently do on the previous version. Overall this is an excellent product that will get used almost daily, year round, in my mosquito ridden hometown of Miami, Florida.

I am camping in a Provincial park in Canada for 5 months. I have allergies to scents and didn’t want to put nasty chemicals like deet on my skin,so I suffered the mosquitos from May to the 2nd week in June. The mosquitos became more ravenous and seemed to get bigger in size, so I not a got a Thermacell. I can now bbq, relax, eat and drink outside without constantly swatting the mosquitos. It starting working within 5 minutes of starting it and there was not one mosquito on my patio. I love this thing and I tell everyone about it. In Northwestern Ontario, Canada our summers are short so thank you for making my time outside much more enjoyable.
