My mini horse loves for us to sit out on the patio with him but the mosquitos would bite us a lot now we can enjoy sitting outside with my mini horse. It works so well that my mini horse gets on the patio with us. Guess he'll want a Thermacell for his stall.

I bought this a couple months ago and thought that I'd take a chance - that it might end up with all my other ineffective repellents - in the trash - but was tired of being eaten alive by mosquitoes so it was worth a chance. I AM SO GLAD I DID! I carry this little bugger with me every where I go. I NEVER has mosquito bites when I use this. I just bought a huge pack of refills so I'm prepared for the rest of the season. I even sent one to a friend who complained she could not get any use of her patio because of mosquitoes. She was thrilled with it too.

Purchased this item to help with the HUGE mosquito problem in our back yard. We back up to a wildlife area with a pond and marsh which is beautiful but a nursery for mosquitoes. This rendered our deck off limits as dusk began, that is until we tried Patio Shield. We were able to relax "bite free" for a little over 4 hours last night. We are telling the neighbors to get one of these!!!

I was given this for free to try for review. I was really looking forward to reviewing this product as I am in texas and we have horrible mosquitos. I think possibly where my backyard faces this is not big enough to handle.. I have constant winds everyday so when it was on I did not notice any difference. I was able to get it lit after a few tries and put it on my patio table. The mosquitos were still flying under the table so not sure if it needs to be on the ground or not. Will try again on the ground in the front to see if that changes anything.

We just moved to Florida and are waiting to have the back patio and pool screened in to keep the mosquitos away. We thought that we couldn't enjoy the patio / pool until then. The Patio Shield made the difference and allowed us to enjoy our patio / pool right away. We just set up the Patio Shield on our patio table near the pool, take a dip in the pool and when we get out don't have to worry about being bugged by those nasty flying blood suckers. We're so happy we got the patio shield - it works great, easy to use and re-use, lights the first time every time and there is just a faint smell - enough to let you know it's working.

I received this as a promotional item. It worked for an hour or 2 by then it seemed like the mosquitoes broke through the invisible barrier this created and started to enjoy a fest on the humans that were sitting outside. I'd possibly try it again, perhaps when the mosquitoes aren't so active.

Purchased the Patio Shield Repeller last month. I have other lantern products which I am happy with but wanted to have something to set on a table by pool chairs. Product worked well even with my Florida mosquitoes and is heavy enough they can't fly off with it. Colors are great and fit in with the sunshine and decor. I like the cap feature that I can put on after use to avoid rain/sprinkler damage. The cap closes the unit up nicely. But, I still don't recommend taking it with you on a pool float though!! :-)

We bought this hoping, but, knowing it would not work, and, guess what it did not work. We have a cottage an hour north of the Muskoka's and we tried it there. Twice! Not even in the worst part of the mosquito season and it is a joke. Waste of money...

Got the new Patio Shield in red. Have been using on my back and front porch. The Thermacell I have have always been solid.The features are simple and effective. I also like the internal storage for the mats! I've got some buddies that are amazed and stated they got to have one or more. Here in Louisiana we can be attacked with mosquitoes 8 months out of the year. Thanks for the attractive, functional design. I've got several of the handheld, two of the lanterns, and now the porch shield.

I bought this product to use on my patio. I thought it looked nice, pleasing color and shape, unobtrusive, and not messy. After unpacking, I read through the instructions and thought, seems easy to use. Screwed in the fuel canister, turned it on, clicked 3 times and nothing. I tried again, nothing. Turned it off, waited a bit then tried again. Clicked what seemed like forever and finally I saw a glow in the sight glass. After about 3 minutes I noticed there was no glow. Started over trying to get it to light. It finally did and we used it for 30 min or so. It did keep Mosquitos away for that time. When we were done, I shut it off but didn't remove the fuel canister. A couple day later, I tried to light it again and couldn't get it to work. I checked and the fuel was empty. I am very disappointed in this product and would not recommend it. My advice, get something that is rechargeable/battery operated.
