Just bought this generator. Everything looked great out of the box, but couldn't get it started, even after carefully following all of the start up steps in the manual and checking the troubleshooting section. Westinghouse Customer Care phone line was no help; kept disconnecting me after about 15 minutes on hold. Finally discovered that the battery hadn't been connected. The battery cables were just tie-wrapped together and shoved behind the housing. Once we connected the battery, it worked fine. The start-up and/or troubleshooting sections of the manual should mention the battery quick connect. Would have saved us a load of trouble!

Unboxed and assembled right after it was delivered. Packaged well. Connect 20 LB LPG tank. It fired right away and no problems experienced during the first 2.5 hours of break-in testing using both 120v outlets. Used a 500w work lights, a clothes iron, and portable heaters for break-in loads. Iron and heater cycle on and off to automatically vary load. After 1 hour switched to gasoline. Started right up. Seems to be a well thought out design. Having both a 30 amp and a 50 amp 120/240 outlet provides user with more options for connecting generator such as a stick welder. No problems found with assembly. The only thing I noticed was the yellow cap (Part 2.5) over the propane connector fitting on the generator required a pliers to remove. It was cross-threaded and it shed plastic shavings which we carefully removed so as not to cause problems with the internal working parts of the regulator.(PRESSURE REDUCING VALVE part 2.4) The where two occasions of "backfiring" on restarting the unit when unburnt fuel ignited in the exhaust system. Could have been operator error. We chose this unit because of the dual fuel option, fuel consumption, 3 year warranty, and the price. I would have preferred a smaller inverter type unit but with an all electric house we needed the watts this one provides. We thought it best to over size rather than continuously run at a smaller unit at capacity. Thank you Westinghouse!

We live in a rural area and lose power a few times a year. For years we've had an on and off relationship starting a Honda EG5000 to cover outages from a few hours to a few days. We needed something my wife could operate when I am away from the house and decided on a Westinghouse 9500 dual fuel. We should have done this years ago! It arrived undamaged and was easy to setup. We had it up and running on propane in 30 minutes. The pushbutton start is great! The dual fuel option lets you use gasoline or propane (without the shelf life concerns). When you compare the options for this generator and the minor setup needed to run it against the insane cost and time to install a box store auto-cutover generator it is an easy decision to buy a Westinghouse! Image assembled is included. My only suggestion is offering a cart that mounted the generator and 40 to 100 lb propane tank.

I recently bought the WGen9500DF generator, and it has been a solid performer. Its dual-fuel capability is very handy, letting me use either gasoline or propane. The power output is impressive, easily handling my household needs during outages. The electric start feature is convenient, and it runs smoothly. Overall, it's a reliable and efficient generator that I recommend for home backup power.

Generator arrived quickly on a pallet & banded with zero damage. Quick easy assembly. Added oil, connected the battery cable added fresh fuel and started on first try effortlessly. So far I am absolutely thrilled to have this at my home in case of power grid failure. I cannot report on durability yet for obvious reasons, however, if build quality is any indicator of durability, this machine should last me a lifetime with proper care and maintenance.

I bought this generator 2 days before Hurricane Beryl hit Houston, Texas and left us without power for over 5 days. This generator was a life saver powering my whole house thru this outage. I highly recommend having a transfer switch installed along with this to make it much easier to use. Excellent investment especially for the Gulf Coast of Texas.

Just purchased but the instruction guide is clear and am eager to setup and start using. Purchased this to run a small cabin with a well pump. Will be building a small shelter for it and I expect the remote start to be very handy. A little surprised the propane connection is a standard hand screw connection whereas other dual fuel generators Ive used in the past have a quick disconnect. The build quality looks excellent and packaging is robust. Eager to get it started.

I just received this generator and I am extremely impressed. Much better quality and accessories than I thought. I have already used it with two different welders for many hours and it works awesome. The electric start and the remote are a great accessory as well as the 50 amp plug for my camper.

Bought this to replace our old house backup generator and had to use it the first weekend we got it. Had to replace the 14-30 plug but after that it worked fine. I love the push-button start - sure beats yanking a cord. Dual power option is great but propane tank didn't last as long as I thought it would. Overall very satisfied.

Purchased this 9500 dual fuel source generator in Florida for Hurricane emergencies. We have a refrigerator and a freezer full of meats that I can’t afford to lose due to a power outage. This generator was easy to set up and easy to start up on propane. Has lots of nice features including remote start. Well I’ve only had this generator for a couple of weeks and always started it up for testing purposes several times only. It appears to be a solid unit. Just realize this is a full-size generator and somewhat heavy, but it has some nice large wheels for moving around.
