I purchased this generator for home backup because of the features and price. it has everything I need including dual fuel and a 50amp outlet which enables me to run my whole house. propane is much easier to store than gas. It started on the first try with propane, I have not tried gas yet but I'm sure I will get the same result. the remote start is a great feature

This is my second 9500DF. I used my first one once when I hooked up an interlock kit on my home. When I went to use it again, it would run but wouldn't make electricity. After swapping a few parts that Westinghouse recommended (and sent me), they told me to take it to their certified service center. They discovered it needed a new alternator. After almost 4 months and 2 failed attempts at shipping a new alternator, Westinghouse replaced the generator. When it works, it's great. Hopefully the second one will do better than the first.

I lost power for 2 days and I needed to borrow a generator from a freind. It happened to be a Westinghouse WGen9500DF. I loved it so much I purchased one for myself. I really liked the dual fuel option most. I do not know how often I'll use it, but I'm sure glad I have it.

Wow! Fantastic package ... everything I was looking for in a whole-house generator. Long run time, ease of start, dual fuel. Solid frame ... portability and wheels make it easy to move where needed. Hour meter, volts amperage read-outs makes it easy to know what's going on. Can't believe I got such a great deal!!

The anxiety was through the roof when I opened up the box. What a nice piece of equipment, it’s everything as expected. Easy to assemble the legs and wheels well thought out and put together generator. Oiled it up, added gas and it started up with ease. The key fob is the best addition to this generator for sure. Looking forward to using this beast during the next power outage.

I bought this ready for winter so I've only used it a couple times for testing purposes but so it's worked as expected. It takes a bit to get it started the first time and it's best to do that on gas rather than propane but once I get it started the first time it started easily after that. The remote start/stop is nice but since I need to pull it out of the garage and hook it up I probably won't need to us it that much. I bought this because it got good ratings, the wattage will power my whole house, the price is pretty good, my local small engine shop said they could repair the engine if needed and the fact it' so fuel efficient. It's not a quite generator but for the size it's about what I'd expect and I'm only using it for power outages during winter. Hopefully it will continue to run nicely when I really need it.

I love this dual fuel generator. So convenient and easy to use. the wheels were easy to install. The handle bar makes it very easy to move. I got it just in time for the start of hurricane season. Being that I live in Florida, I hope I won't need it anytime soon, but if I do I know this bad girl will get the job done.

On the plus side, the generator started first attempt with the electric start. I expected the battery would be dead and require a pull start. The down side was that I decided to upgrade to 05W-30 oil for cold temps. I bought one quart which is what was provided and it was not enough to fill the generator. So, I had to go back to the store again to buy more oil... What a pain. If the generator continues to work well or I hear from Westinghouse regarding the oil volume I will consider upgrading my rating.
