I bought this as a home power backup option with the freedom to take it out for powering future outdoor events etc. I haven't had a serious power outage yet to really put it through it's paces but where I live the power can potentially stay out for days. I did do some diligent testing though and was very impressed by it's ability to power pretty much my whole home at full blast, minus the electric cooking range and the electric dryer. And this was only using the 30A outlet and running on propane. Whole (4bdrm) home= propane force air furnace, 240v well pump, all lights, several computers, monitors, 40" plasma screen, etc. You will always have to do your own wattage calculations for your home. This generator feels very modern and cleanly designed. With the remote electric start, and how it auto restarts if it stops for any reason, these features make it feel like a modern sportscar where other generators I've used feel like a smelly rusty ol chevy. It's heavy but pretty easily maneuverable on wheels. Powerful, flexible, portable, and affordable, feels like a win to me.

I bought this generator recently and it works great. Having a relay station set up this week so we are prepared to keep power during hurricane season. The remote start is such a great feature since we are getting older we don't have to pull on the cord.

This is an awesome generator and you can tell that it is quality built! This generator has so much power, plenty of outlets, and an easy start remote, it's just fantastic! I am extremely happy with this purchase, and if need be, I definitely will purchase again.

When 1st trying to start this generator, the unit would not even attempt to start. Seemed like there was an issue with the battery/electric start. There is a red button on the right side of the control box that was never mentioned in the instructions or trouble shooting guide. I reset the button and it started but shut off 2xs after running for a few minutes. I had to flip the toggle for the outlets off and then on which seemed to work. Unit ran for 3 hrs with no problem. Hopefully all is OK and this was just on the initial starting.

I have this model hooked straight into a transfer switch to my main of my three bedroom two bathroom house. It powers everything. Yes! Even the air-conditioning! I would recommend this model to anyone. It is very convenient that it also uses propane as an alternative.

I just got this.. Right out of the box she fired up! It took maybe 10 minutes to put everything together. She runs smooth and not too loud. I think it's pretty for a tool. It cranked right up. I have not had to run anything with it but I"m she will to the job and then some.

Just bought this generator and it started up first time. This generator is really well constructed (I’ve been welding as a professional sculptor for 45 years). It’s a complete package - just buy gas and you can get this running in under an hour - and that’s at a leisurely pace. Haven’t got it fully broken in ( ie run time of 5 hours) but think this is the best purchase of the four generators I’ve bought in the last 25 years.

Generator seems well built, took no time to set up, love the battery tender and tool kit, nice touch. My only issue is ,I want to use the 2 120 outlets together to power some items in the house and get one leg of 240 for the well pump through a GENTRAN . I have a very heavy gauge dual extension cord running underground to the GENTRAN next to the panel in the house. The GFCI's keep popping and I think I have to do the Bonded ground wire to the neutral terminal trick defeating the GFCI's.

After researching a number of generators I decided to go with the Westinghouse because two of my neighbors owned similar models and recommended the brand. The instructions were user friendly and the wheels were relatively easy to install considering the bulk and weight of the product. What impressed me was the easy starting mechanism and the level of noise was far less than I expected.

I bought this in July as a Christmas gift for my grandson who takes care of our home. It is a hard starter with the manual pull start and the on/off switch for the battery seems to be loose, we have to hold it just right to keep the battery active to use the push button electric start. Disappointed in this, since it is brand new and shouldn't have to do that. Otherwise, it is going to work for what we need it to do for our home in case of power outage.
