Great generator

Westinghouse WGen9500DF is a very nice generator with all the bells and whistles. Dual fuel and remote start! I needed help to get it started the first time and the customer service line had me running in a couple minutes. It is a great product with great support.

WGen9500DFc dual fuel

I bought this generator in preparation for the 2024 hurricane season. Our previous generator was outdated and not able to keep up with our demand requirements. This Westinghouse dual fuel generator is awesome and I look forward to installing a transfer switchbox to maximize the features of this generator.

Solidly built unit

Purchased this generator just in time to use it for hurricane Delta. We were out of power for three days and it performed flawlessly. Started running it on propane till I could get gasoline, it consumed a 15lb bottle of propane in about 6hours that’s running 3 small window units a couple of floor fans, lights and some small electrical appliances, on gasoline I think I got about 10 to 12 hours. Also would turn it off and give about 6 hours of cool down time as these class of generators are not rated for continuous duty. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is when running on propane when you turn off the unit you must turn off your bottle or it will bleed off propane and empty the bottle.

Peace of Mind

I received the unit about two weeks ago. I haven't had a chance to start it up yet. But it's on my to do list this week. Plan to start with propane so as not to have to drain gasoline. Having a transfer switch installed and I'll be ready for any power failures. I'm glad and happy with my purchase after months of reviews and answered questions.

LOOKS GREAT

I bought this generator as I don’t want to go though another power outage again without a back up. This will be able to power basic systems like air circulation on my house, fridge, internet and lighting. Came in a compact box, simple instructions to enable the wheels and ready to go. Looks great, hope I don’t have to use it!

Powerful Generator

I finally purchased a generator for my new home In Bossier City, LA after we were without power for 5 days after a severe thunderstorm/hurricane. I had a professional electrician come and install a disconnect switch to the electrical box and now I won't be left in the dark no more! Even my electrician was impressed with the features and key start and said this is the best generator he's ever seen!!

Excellent Generator

Very easy to operate and powerful generator. I considered getting a full-time house backup generator but after considering that we very seldom lose power here in eastern NC for more than a few days, I decided to get the 9500df. This generator powers the entire house along with two refrigerators and a freezer. Couldn't ask for a better product for the price!

Love Dual Fuel

I purchased this a couple of months ago but just powered it following installation of a manual changeover switch and receptacle. I like the ability to run propane but switch to gas if circumstances warrant. Instructions were clear, operation is straight forward, and the auto start sequence worked as advertised.

So Happy With This Generator!

Living on the gulf coast, we have frequent storms and lose power for extended times. I have a couple small Westinghouse inverter generators that have worked perfectly. Our biggest problem is that we have a water well and trying to keep the refrigerators and freezers running while using a small window unit to keep 1 room cool while we wait for our power to be turned back on. We just had Hurricane Beryl hit us and we lost power for 4 days. No showers, had to haul water to flush toilets, moving extension cords constantly to keep everything going. Very exhausting to say the least. After much research and great reviews, I purchase the WGen9500 Dual Fuel and installed a generator disconnect to my breaker box so I could power my whole house. I got the dual fuel so I can have a couple 100# propane bottles for backup as sometimes finding gas after a windstorm is impossible. I received the generator in perfect condition, read through the manual, added the supplied oil and filled the tank with fresh gas. I quick push of the remote and if fired up on the first try. I performed the initial break-in by plugging in a shop fan, small electric heater and a 1hp air compressor. I let them cycle for 8 hours and the generator never missed a beat. The following weekend, I connected it to my house. I flipped the breakers on all of the un-necessary items, just keeping my water well, my 4 ton ac and refrigerator and freezer running. The 9500 ran everything just like I needed to too. Hopefully we won't have another windstorm for a long time, but if we do, I'll be ready with the WGen9500. The remote start is going to be a lifesaver for sure!
