Could make it Easier to Setup

Quick Start Guide could make it easier to set up the generator if it included a sentence saying that, "The entire quart of oil will be used in the initial setup." This would make it easier than having to check the oil level constantly since the guide doesn't make it clear how much oil is needed and stresses not to overfill.

Performs as stated, easy to move, easy to operate

I purchased this generator to power my first floor, of a two story house, during power outages. I live in Florida on the east coast. Power outages are a constant problem along with hurricanes and tropical storms. I have already used this generator twice and it has done everything its supposed to do.

Works for what we needed..

We purchased this generator due to a severe thunder storm which the winds took out a utility pole and knock power out to our neighborhood. We connected it our electrical panel and turned on circuits that we need to have back on. This unit actually allowed us to run about 90% of our home.

new generator

Purchased in January. Very easy to assemble and prep. Started right up. Loved the feature where the choke automatically shuts itself off when the unit starts. Haven't had a chance to use it yet but we're just getting into the bad weather part of the year here in north Louisiana. I feel like my family is prepared if we lose power.

just received

Just purchased and haven't had a chance to use it yet. It is heavy at over 200 lbs. Gas cap is very large and I thought good until I started pouring fuel in. Due to a debris catcher had to pour slowly. Make sure you cut on the fuel cutoff before attempting to start it if using gas. Started after a few attempts.

Great features!

I bought this generator two months ago to hook to my house if the power is down. I'm so glad I did. Our power was off for several hours. And thanks to this generator we were able to have power for lights and keep our fridge and freezers going. Very well built, easy to use, and love being able to have dual fuel options.

WGen9500DF

Appears to be a well made quality product. The company didn't cut corners on anything so far, even included the oil, funnel and propane hose connection. Came well packaged for shipping a very heavy machine. This is for emergency backup power, not everyday use so I won't know till I need it if the quality matches the great appearance.

Easy start

Easily understood directions for unpacking and preparation for use. Started first time with the electric start button. My only issue is the 50 amp extension cord I'm using to connect to house electrical system has a right angle plug into generator and due to the size of the cord has a slight interference with the unit's wheel.

Sturdy Unit

The WGen9500DF seems to be a very sturdy unit. A friend has a WGen8500DF and has run it on both gas and propane to power his well and heat in his well house with great success. I intend to use my 9500 during power outages for temporary whole house power.

So far so good - Pretty impressive

My WGen9500DFc came in today, no problem whatsoever with the delivery, right to my garage. Great packaging, delivered on a small crate, did not look it was dropped or damaged during transportation. I opened the box, everything was fine, all the parts were there. Assembly was pretty easy, especially if you open the box on all 4 sides and then rotate the generator to install the wheels and mounting feet (while the machine is still empty from all fluids, very important). Poured the supplied oil in, dropped about 2 gallons of ethanol-free in the tank, plugged in the battery, and it started right up on the first button push. Very impressive. I ran it for an hour, and it did flawlessly. I will change the oil tomorrow, and then run it with a very small load (couple of fans and a blower, off and on) until the end of the break-in period (5 hours). And then change the oil again, and use full synthetic then on. So far, so good. I will update as things progress, and I put more hours on this generator. I intend to use this generator with a 50A inlet box to power my house in case of weather emergencies.
