Purchased as protection for all the power outages we have during storms. Really like the ability to switch between propane and gas. Instructions and setup took less than 15 minutes This involved putting on the 2 wheels and supports. Plenty power for our house. Highly recommend!

Product arrived sooner than anticipated. I bought this “just in case”. It has enough power to operate the well pump and majority items in the house. No more yanking on a cord to start. The remote start and the electric start make it so easy for women to operate…. The dual fuel is a great option.

This product was purchased to power my entire home. I installed a separate breaker and 50amp box. We powered the unit up yesterday and it supplied power to everything without issue. The unit only bogged down when I turned on the dryer along with everything else. For reference, my home is 2400 square feet.

After doing a great deal of research, I decided on this generator, and I'm so glad I did. It is solid! The battery was fully charged when it arrived. It also comes with a trickle charger that plugs right into the control panel so you can have peace of mind that when the time comes to crank it up, it will be ready. It comes with a full quart of oil with funnel, and many other amenities. The wheels and legs were very easy to install and are very durable. I especially like how the handle folds down into the frame to make it easier to store in the least amount of space. I'll update my review once I get the transfer switch and electrical work completed. The main use of this unit will be for emergency power in the case of an electrical outage. If you're looking for a solid generator at a reasonable price, look no further.

This is a follow up review. I have been using my new WGen9500DF generator for a week and it has not skipped a beat. Perfect in everyway, no complaints. It runs flawlessly on either gasoline or propane. On a cold generator using propane, it take 2 start attempts to get the generator primed for starting, but it starts on the second or third attempt. When the generator is warmed up, it starts immediately. I have used propane generators for years and I consider this normal start-up procedure for a propane generator. The starter battery has plenty of power, and the automatic start sequence does a beautiful job. I've connected the generator to my generator transfer switch and ran everything in the house, except central air, with no problem. Instead of central air I use three window a/c units which provide plenty of cooling for my 1,800 sq./ft home here in Florida. I am very happy with this generator and I would certainly recommend this generator to anyone in the market to buy one. Thank you Westinghouse for building a phenomenal generator.

I bought the 9500df a few weeks ago and it arrived 3 days ago. Everything works well so far and this 9500-watt unit is just 3-4 inches longer and 2 or so inches wider than the 5500-watt Generac it’s replacing. This is not a super-quiet generator but it’s not bad and it’s no more or less loud than the smaller one it’s replacing, which is a pleasant surprise. A couple of issues so far 1) this generator is supposed to have an auto-choke feature but that doesn’t seem to work - it will not do a cold electric start unless you engage the choke manually. Not a big pain, but it limits the utility of the starting key fob, which will only work if you engage the choke manually OR if the engine is already warm. 2) the 50-amp receptacle is right over the wheel, and all 50-amp cords have a 90-degree connector and a THICK cable, which wants to go right where the wheel is. You can angle the connector in, but it’s not very secure and exposes the metal of the plug, which is dangerous. If you can find a 50a plug extender to give it another inch, that is highly recommended.

I bought this generator one month ago. set it up as instructed and test ran engine and generator. all was good. Today a tried to start the engine for exercise sake and she would not start. Checked trouble shooting guide as prescribed and everything is as it should be. Starter works excellent but absolutely no fire. Calling Westinghouse today, hopefully they will be unlike other manufacturers and offer a solution.

I have been wanting to buy a generator before the next power outage. After Reviewing Features and prices and also wanted a generator that had dual fuel I decided on the Westinghouse WGen9500DF. Had a inlet box put in for the 50amp to power my Whole house. Simulated a power outage by cutting off utility power. This generator can power my entire house did not use any heavy appliances but the generator can handle heavy appliance washing machine sub pumps,refrigerator freezer,dishwasher and most important Ac and Furnace depending on the season. I would Recommend this product and possibly putting in an inlet Box so that all your devices in your house would be able to work in a power outage up to Generator specs depending if using gasoline or propane Rocko

Seems to be great quality and well built. It was easy to set up and ran on propane just fine. However, I could not get it to run on gas at first. It was new ethanol free gas and wouldn’t start or even turn over. I checked that all fuel lines were clear and it still didn’t work. Finally I drained the carburetor and it started working just fine. Seems to be good now. Maybe something from the factory was still in the carb and caused it to not start. Once that was taken care of, it works as expected.

We bought several months ago and now have a great appreciation for it’s “ready to go-ready to work” construction. It is easy to start and with dual fuels has really been a life saver. It is quieter than our previous unit. We love ours and expect to get many years of use out of it!
