Easy enough to move

So far we have not had to use this generator and it is only 2 months old. The only reason it has 4 stars is because I cannot rate how well it actually works. I wanted to review how we moved this to a second floor. We have an elevated house (live in a flood area) and needed to carry it up a good flight of stairs. It was not bad with four people (2 are young teens). It was the thing we were worried about the most and it was pretty easy. It was easy enough to move it around on flat surfaces too.

Great Generator

I bought this as a backup generator for hurricane prep. It appears to be a high quality product, and comes with all required items to get it running. After some minor assembly and prep, it started right up. I particularly like the dual fuel option, electric start, and the variety of different power connection options. Very nice product!

Great value, easy setup

I got this for home use in case of a power outage. It was packaged very well and setup was very easy. Everything is supplied in the packaging including tools, oil, hardware, charged battery and easy instructions. All I had to do is install the feet and wheels, connect the battery. add the oil, add my own gas and it started up with the first try of the remote starter. I hope I never have to use it, but it is very comforting knowing it is there.

Great Generator

Bought this after getting caught flat footed for Hurricane Milton. So far in all my testing, this generator has been great. Really looking forward to being able to plug in the 30A transfer switch my home has to run all the essentials. For the price, this generator can't be beat

Bang for Buck

Last winter, here in Texas, we experienced many long periods of power outages. There was not enough power to go around. Now that we have open borders and a flood of folks escaping from other states, it will only get worse. We decided on a backup generator to run our critical circuits in the event of the next inevitable outage. This model, from this company, is the best bang for buck out there.

Beast of a Generator

The generate came via a lift truck. It weighs over 250 pounds. Love the fact that it has wheels and stand plus padded handle from moving it around. Love the auto start and remote start. Plus I have propane tanks in the event, I run out of fuel. Super value power for our home.

Easy to setup and easy to use.

My Westinghouse Wgen 9500DFc generator just arrived. I immediately assembled the feet and wheels, which was all the assembly required other than adding oil and plugging in the battery. The assembly was extremely easy but you may need some help lifting and moving the generator until the wheels are on. The instructions are illustrated and easy to understand. I've tested the generator and it starts right up. It runs smooth but it's not quiet. I have no doubt that my 9500DFc will deliver the power I need when I need it during an emergency. The peace of mind that comes with owning a reliable dual fuel (gasoline and propane) generator has already begun. So far I am pleased with the purchase. I highly recommend the Westinghouse Wgen9500DFc.

Great Choice for Backup Solution

I bought the 9500DF to offset my home battery backup in emergency. It is a very cost effective way to support my HVAC unit in an outage, via a transfer switch to my breaker panel, without draining the backup battery that supports the rest of the house. I like that I can choose between fuel types as well and the convenience of a remote start. I love having the security to know I will always have power when needed.

Observations

Right out of the box, I put oil in it, a gallon of gasoline, and it started right up. The remote also was pre-programmed and works also. Several items I think are noteworthy but not necessarily a criticism. Oil filler is awkward to remove, whereas it is right in line with the battery cables. Secondly, it would have been useful to know exactly how much oil it took. It says in the manual, 1.1 (L). I do not believe that to be accurate. The tires are not going to perform well on wet grass. The manual states it should not be operated in the rain. Also, it says the generator should not be operated in an enclosure. Where do you think people are going to operate a generator in an emergency? I bought it for hurricane season, so I cannot leave it outside? Do I build a shelter for it? This is the one question I want an answer to. I think overall I am going to be pleased with it. I am having an electrician wire in a transfer panel and by my own estimations, it will power my whole house. BEFORE I need it, I will certainly plug it in and just see what the capabilities are. Thank you.
